  • Side by side comparison of Pagan Otherworlds by UUSI and Carnival at the End of the World by Kahn & Selesnick, guidebook by Sarah Falkner
An unfair comparison is comparing two decks that are dissimilar in some way. Pagan Otherworlds is a pip style deck and Carnival at the End of the World has fully illustrated pip cards.

I love videos like this. I never realized how similar they are to one another however still different & unique enough to own both (if both decks are the exact same except for let’s say a flower off in the distance is different than that’s good enough for me to buy both, lol.) I know this may be odd but I love the seals on Lo Scarabeo decks, lol.
Anywho, If you celebrate thanksgiving have a happy one & hope the eats were good!

Great comparison! I never realized how similar they are - I only have Pagan Otherworlds, but I was tempted by The Carnival at the End of the World.

I’m late for the giveaway, but that’s ok. Not much impressed with the Carnival at the End of the World, although I really dig the name. 😁 It’s just way too strange for me. I liked the Pagan deck better but not a fan of pip decks, though this one seemed to have more ‘scenery’ in the minors than most I have seen. But what do I know? I’m still a newbie 😆

Yea I totally understand. Learning with fully illustrated minors is much easier. I find that my taste has evolved a lot as I learn. Each deck that I get brings something new. A new layer or viewpoint to the tarot conversation. I have found that decks I never thought I would use suddenly speak to me. Thanks for watching. There will be a new giveaway in July. ❤️

Great comparison Sharon. I love these two decks. I didn't know there were extra cards in the Carnival at the End of the World. Unfair comparisons is a great way to get to know decks

Both of these decks have a interesting twist in the illustration of pips. Pagan Otherworlds tarot is one of my favorite work study decks.
I just did a review of UUSI’s playing card version of the Pagan Otherworlds, but it doesn’t connect with me as well.
I’m looking to either trade or sale this new deck.

It’s unfortunate you didn’t read the books before your comparison. If you had, you would have known the Fool in the CATEOTW deck isn’t unprepared, instead of all his belongings, he’s carrying all of his inner demons. The Star, As Above, So Below. A star in the sky and in the water.

Thank you. Good point. I'll try to read the guidebooks before videos.

Out of the two, which would you recommend (or if you just have one deck, how has your readings & connection/dynamic been?) :)

What a fun comparison! I have both these decks and had not realized all these similarities. But then again just got both of them this past year and have not worked with them much yet. They are both so beautiful! Yet both really big for my hands and oh so slippery though I LOVE the feel of their cardstock. 🙏🏼🌸✌🏽🪶✨

Thanks for watching. I have seen ppl who have trimmed their Pagan Otherworlds and it looks great. I don't mind the size or have the nerve. You might want to look into it. There is a Facebook group all about modifying tarot and oracle decks. I can find the name if you are interested.

Yes, I saw Boho Tarot has done a mod of this deck. But I don’t think I have the nerve to trim such a gorgeous Indie deck. Will keep trying to work with it as is. Thanks for the idea though. 🙏🏼✨

@@artistsandoracles same. I could never bring myself to trim it. I mainly keep those mods to mass market in case I mess up.
