Hey everyone, I've been waiting to drive the GR Corolla for the longest time, and here we are. I'll talk about the things I like and don't like throughout this drive + review. This video includes my very first impressions. It looks like it could be a daily driver. But does it really? Is it really practical? Most of the gr complaints are pretty nit picky in this video. The pedals are too high? 😂 I went from a golf GTI to a GRC (both 6 speed) and I’ve never felt that way. Nothing wrong with the shifting either. Golf is def more refined and more suited for if you want a comfortable daily. GRC is basically something you would have gotten during the evo/sti days but modernized. Great AWD system with pretty basic interior material. Also don’t know if you tried ‘expert mode’ on the GRC. You have to put it in sport, track, and then turn off the anti slip. It’ll switch over to expert mode and get rid of lol the nanny features including rev limitations

I think you can toggle the auto rev-match which would probably negate that heel-toe awkwardness. I've watched other reviewers rave about the auto rev-matching actually... would love to see you try it yourself and hear what you think.

I'm sure it's good. But just like my Spyder I get rev match on Sports Plus mode. I hardly drive it with that. For me, as a manual driver. I want to be involved in the gear shifts myself.

Did you remove the blocks that came for shipping inside the front springs?The suspension should not be the way you described it.

How is the comparison with Subaru Sti ,
The GR Corolla is inspirationally born out of Subaru Sti Rally anyway so it can be a natural comparison

I was so interested in a gr Corolla / golf r / civic type r as my single daily driver. But with the price range that they are going for, I bought a bmw m340i instead. No regrets 90% of the time, 10% the weight kills some of my backroad twisty enjoyment.

Ooohh thats a great shout! I might wanna hunt for a grey import M340i wagon sometime.

M340i is a way better all rounder than both Golf R and the GR Corolla.

Although this car is amazing,but for hot hatch category I still think Peugeot 206 is the best😂😂
