I kinda chuckled and shrugged it off while waiting for my coffee. The corse kicked in and I couldn’t help but laugh. I noticed them dancing behind the bar (those kids have to much energy) it was hilarious. I told them they need to play this every time I walk through that door now 😂

Can we talk about how incredible this album is? The synth pop they use would teach all the albums that also used this genre how to play with nostalgia. No doubt Little Dark Age would have dominated 2020.

I truly believe we are witnessing some of their best work yet with these last upcoming songs, they have matured enough to know how to create their perfect sound, but still sound as though they remain true to their ideals of making the music they want to hear. MGMT really is the band of our generation in my opinion in a world of sounds that seem to repeat or continue off of eachother they still seem to be able to to pull influence from different decades and regions with their own spin on it, and it results in one of the most creative bands that we are lucky to have

My first serious partner died a few years back extremely suddenly. His birthday was last week and out of the blue I got this song stuck in my head and has been been since then. Easy to guess what his name was lol. Still i had never seen the music video until now. I had put off watching this because i was afraid putting visuals on would just further rock the emotional boat.......NOPE. The imagery is like this weird empathic gyrostabilizer so THANK YOU for that and for the song. He was the kind of guy a lot of people could feel this way about with this song on. You are missed. This is literally them making fun of the fans that have ignored them, finally coming back to them making pop songs again. This is again, them ironically making wonderful pop songs that are radio friendly. Fuckin beautiful. Hopefully they can finally start steering away from oracular!! Pop or not, these two are always 100 percent on point.

It was really the pop hits that were outliers to their style.
Congrats is a natural evolution from the second half of OS and S/T is a natural evolution from Congrats.
But people hyperfocused on like 3 of their debut songs while ignoring the whole rest, which was a much bigger part of their style.
So LDA in a way was them going "Yeah we can still do the popular stuff but gee give our other stuff a chance too".
