Well, the mg34 is my main and I have gotten gold on it so here's some tips:
1: This gun is not for the aggressive.
It works better defensively
2: It works really well when mounted
It also helps to have deployable cover for this.
3: Do NOT use the default mag for this gun. This gun takes forever to reload and having more bullets stops the need to constantly reload
4: Make sure you have close quarters back up. The MG34 isn't the best at close quarters encounters. It's more medium to long range
I think that's about it.
Edit: 5: All barrels suck for this gun don't use them
