Black Lightning's daughters became superheroes in the comics. The oldest was Thunder (a member of the Outsiders) and the younger was Lightning (a member of the Justice Society).
I foresee a Static cameo in that show's future

hell yes!!! I never even thought about that. that would be dope if they gave him a cameo. Maybe Virgil as some high school or college student visiting whatever city this takes place in saying that he also has a "lightning" based hero in his city. now I'm definitely going to be crossing my fingers for that to happen.
I'm betting he'll show up next season as the younger daughter's new boyfriend.

I don't know anything about Black Lightning but Cress Williams is an awesome Hey It's That Guy. He was Mayor Lavon Hayes in Hart of Dixie, a hitman in Prison Break, Michael B Jordan's Friday Night Lights dad, Bailey's first husband on Grey's Anatomy, and has other guest roles on ER, The West Wing, Veronica Mars, and Living Single. But, for me, his greatest role was D'Shawn Hardell on Beverly Hills 90210. That was my introduction to his charm and charisma and he was delightful. He's going to rock this character.

black lightning was dc's second black superhero but their first original black superhero (john Stewart was the first but he was only a new character not an original hero as he was the third green lantern)
And he's also going to be a dlc in injustice 2 from that leaked list it looks pretty promising. And I can imagine static shock being a premier skin for black lightning

+M-Dogg and +StruggleSoldier Black Lightning is a recurring character in the D.C. universe who has been around for decades, I believe he came out in the 70s. He's both been a member of the Justice League, as well as has worked with Batman in the D.C. continuity as well. His electrical powers have varied in scope over the years, however, I recall reading that at his apex Lightning's electrical powers were so potent that he was able to jump start Superman's heart. I would imagine means he's able to generate a ridiculous amount of energy. You can likely read more of him in detail on the D.C. Wiki.
This show will have so many stories to tell, with the past of this dude and the family and the city, gonna be around for a while

In the animated show called DC superhero girls there's actually that same girl and she has Thunder powers which means when she Stomps she make a big Soundwave big enough to crack the ground. She also has a sister that can have lightning powers there codenames are thunder and lightning but in this show she actually has lightning powers and the other one that's thunder

My theory that's based on nothing is that if this series does well and gets renewed for season two and then for season three, at some point in there Flash, Arrow, and/or Supergirl could show up at the end of a season's last show. If it's not successful and gets canceled, it goes away without having to account for the characters in that 'verse.

What the show might be set in the Supergirl universe mainly because black lightning has a history with superman ,Batman and the outsiders Plus they film the show in Atlanta and the other DCCW Shows film in Canada

he's very powerful. one thing he can do is manipulate lightning like make his lightning into red lightning to make him a match for a kryptonian who powers are weakened from the red sun. with this he took on almost a dozen of kryptonians. wouldn't be surprise he's in supergirls earth.
