I think the Telecaster was one of the OGs, simple guitar but superb tones . 😊
No long finished a build telecaster. Put locking tuners and done a blood orange sunburst . Then I relieved it . I'm happy with it .
Steve ,just gaffs tape the hanger forks thicker and the Tele headstock fits
Cheers for the shout-out, mate. Looking forward to seeing what you make of the SS frets from Agrajag. As for tab... I would recommend any guitar player to learn how to transcribe tabs, especially using Guitar Pro (not just doing that notepad text file tab). The benefits are that you learn to recognise what you hear, locate it on the fretboard and recognise rhythm patterns and note values. Since I started tabbing stuff out on a regular basis, I've noticed my timing improved in a big way, as well as my interval recognition. Relying on tabs for learning stuff isn't ideal, but learning to transcribe tabs is probably the best favour you can do for yourself :)

Having a Tele guy in a band with a Les Paul is a pretty ideal sound. That said The Clash are my favorite band so there's that too.😉👍✨
Probably the best thing about Telecasters is that, being such a no-nonsense design - yet one which still manages to do the business for pretty much any musical genre - it's kind of hard for any guitar manufacturer to make a bad one, especially these days with CNC, global economies of scale and so on. Even a cheap copy of one, so long as its straight (which they almost all are nowadays), can be tarted up for not a great deal of cash and it'll play as well as the most expensive ones and look just as cool. More so than any other electric guitar type, it is also the one which seems to look better the more beat up it gets. You just can't go wrong with one.

In my mind, a Tele (or a Strat) must be at least 50% made up of single coil pickups. HH Strats and aTeles might as well be Les Pauls and HSH strats aren't quite a Strat.

The neck on the east coast thinline is a tiny bit thicker in the hand but it plays great and looks awesome

I consider myself a Telecaster guy, and apart from the Nashville style ( which I love) I am very much a traditional Telecaster guy.
I have often questioned why I like them so much, the tone I think has a lot to do with it, the Tele is unique in its tone IMO, I think the glossy maple fretboard is also a trait that I love.
Many people complain that it does not have an arm or belly carve, I am not one of them!

I had a Fender Modern Player Tele but it was HSS pickups. It had a coil split switch and a 5-way pickup selector. My boy has it now and loves it.

Love the Sienna sunburst looking one - I'm always on the lookout for a good deal on one of those, almost had one on eBay a few times, but missed out

Everyone should have a tele! I've got 3 at present but plan to sell the Dean Nash Vegas Deluxe and the Squier and keep the Fender even though I like them all. Enjoy your time off mate! You've been putting in a lot of effort and dedication to the Channel. People need to stop complaining when you say hello, it's called good appreciating your followers! Great job mate!

I was busy tweaking my guitar amp project and missed the Live. Watching the recording now. Double P90 Tele is like buying a Lotus Carlton and complaining that it does not have the charm of the Seven. You need a String Swing (CC01K, USA) wall mount for Tele. There are Tele-s with Bixby-s out there so you have the option of bending a lever. Great vid as always, mate. Keep them coming.

Congrats on the HP invite. Btw the 'ejtsch' is just the German pronunciation of how the English would pronunciate 'H' ;) IIRC HP lives near Kaiserslautern. Also live in S/W Germany and it is *hot* at the moment, so bring sunscreen.

Steve, sorry I missed this discussion, I was too tired and fell asleep. I started on Teles because my guitar hero is Joe Strummer from the Clash. My first guitar was a American Standard Telecaster in Electric Blue. That was back in the early 1990s (I want to say 93/94). I miss that guitar.
My main Telecaster is in my pic, a two piece Warmouth Swamp ash body with a 1993 MIM Fender neck. I have a real Filtertron in the neck and I have a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder in the bridge (in my old pic it's w GFS Lipstick pickup but it couldn't keep up with the Filtertron). Weight wise it is lite and has a spanky tone, a bit of banjo like twang.
Right now I have five T Style guitars and they are all different. Teles are a "love em or hate em" and the simplicity of the Tele formula is its strength. Even though I have been playing for 30 years, there are still secrets to unlock from the Tele. Less is more when it comes to Teles.

Filtertron pickups are warm and Jazzy in the neck, so is a traditional Tele neck pickup. A Filtertron in the bridge will give you that AC/DC sizzle (yup, its Malcolm's tone). The big issue on Filtertrons is that they are LOUD pickups even though the resistance is lower. A 8k pickup cannot keep up with a Filtertron (hence the Quarter Pounder).
I have a crazy Samick Malibu (Strat style more like a PRS Silver Sky) where I have the inverse load out on the pickguard where I do a Filtertron - Little 59 - Quarter Pounder on it (the Little 59 was the original pickup from my main Tele before the Filtertron). Both guitars are loads of fun to play!

Never liked the classic tele neck pickup. Neck Hhmbucker solves that for me. Have you say though, that if I could only have one guitar, it would be a strat. The in between sounds are awesome, and I love me some trem
I do like the neck Tele pickup, a p90 is a close 2nd for me 😁
As for strats, I completely agree! - that pretty much nails the allure of the strat for me too. The quack, the wiggle and the contours 🤩👌

I modded a Tele to far. Now i prefer a shortscale Tele in traditional config with the saddle bridge (at least is well intonated and it is Out of brass).

I have a Jack & Danny (j&d) Tl Mini. I guess it is the same 3/4 scale Tele like the CNZ brand. Although the Jack & Danny is Made of alder and the CNZ of Basswood.

They've did the mini strat for decades, and brought out the Jazzmasters a few years ago. Weird there's never been a Tele

Re Tabs - Most of them are wrong. Even the ones the Artists approved ones.
I need to learn how to work out the Key of songs and the chords in a song (I know the chords and Keys are related) but I'm not sure I have a musical ear. So if you do some vids on that it would be super helpful.
My guitar tutor (who is moving so I need to find a new one) says he can tell the people who picked up a Guitar in lockdown (that was me after 30 years!) as we all play with our eyes thanks to CZcams and not our ears - and that is exactly me so I need to improve my musical ear.
You may not have a "musical ear" now - but the good news is you can certainly train it 😀👍
Please forgive me for this long response, but I'm gonna use it as an excuse to potentially flesh out what this could be a video idea in future (It will be imprefect 😜).
First; It's not as difficult as you might think.
Then, you only need a basic understanding of theory and some ear training to unlock some serious power - to "figure things out" by ear.
There's no shortcuts, but.. there kind of is 😁
When listening, try to focus on Bass notes. This is the biggest indicator of what the chord is.
Try to find the bass note you heard on your guitar. Due to the range of bass vs guitar it will likely be an octave above the one you heard.
Can you tell if the chord you heard is Major or Minor? (Happy or sad).
Find all the bass notes in the song, and assign them Major or minor chord shapes on guitar -barre chords are really useful for this. (Chord might not be major or minor - this isn't perfect, it's a shortcut).
That is a good start to ear training/transcribing, and figuring songs out by ear.
If you couple this with some theory. Start by Learning the Major scale, know it's intervals (and forumula, Tone Tone, Semitone, Tone, Tone, Tone) then memorise the "Nashville Number System".
Next time you go through the process of figuring out bass notes in songs, then figuring out the chords (maj/min) you'll start to see these chords "position/role" or "number" in the Nashville number system, which essentially tells you the key.
Once you "Have the Key", it can "unlock" many oppertunites to express yourself musically, through improvising with scales, creating harmonies, fleshing out arpeggios, you can even start to write your own songs (Highly recommended).
If you learn how to write a song, (and even better - record it) you can see the process of a song being built up or "constructed" from nothing. Then when you hear a song, you should have a better understanding of how to "de-construct it" as you've experienced the construction process.
Apologies for the brain dump here 😂 I hope this makes some sort of sense.

I love Jeff Buckley and I tried for years to convince myself that I wanted a traditional Tele. Long story short.. 20 years later after quute a few Trad Ts.. I have a H Benton Fusion 2 HH. Which is not traditional at all really. I am me, not Jeff Buckley haha.

I'm trying to make a proper go of this YT thing, I put at least 30hrs a week into it whilst still working full time. 18 months in, still finding my way, I know I can't please everyone. I will be trying to work with brands etc.. If I want to try and make a living with this, It's more than a hobby.
If I was retired, that would be a different story.
