I think these overhangable curtains for the windows darken well, but they are far too conspicuous and may unnecessarily attract people who could disturb you. I prefer the darkeners attached to the inside of the windows. its more steatlh camping then...

Nice video! What are those spacers that you rise your car up called? Is it to make the head side of the bed more like horisontal? Thanks.
I think it was more to keep the car level as the ground sloped down slightly the closer he got to the beach, otherwise the bed would end up at a slightly more sever angle than usual. Alternative would be to face the car the other way, but then he couldn’t enjoy the view from the open back. But I don’t see why they couldn’t be used for the purpose of leveling the bed a bit when on already level ground.

You can use anything, like blocks of wood as well. You don’t need anything expensive or exclusive.

What a shame that Tesla till this day, still does not offer powerful outlet like many other EVs..
I suppose this is extreme Tesla camping and thanks for sharing. An alternative would be to pitch a tent, which would be used for cooking etc and the Tesla is the bedroom. Crucial question - where to put the porta potti? Anyway, this is another factor for us to consider in choosing between a Model 3 and Model Y!
I debated with myself for some months about the 3 and the Y …. I needed up buying the Y and I love it. The 3 is definitely a more sporty option but room wise, the model Y has ton of space and drives just like a car … I have a MYP so I enjoy it to the fullest. I order more than $600 in equipment to be able to sleep in it this weekend, I’m ordering the fridge today so I’m probably going camping tomorrow !
@pablod3734 We tried both and liked both, but think the 2.8 inches of extra external width makes the Y too big for UK roads. Note that the Y has the same interior width as the 3.
I saw a vid where the porta portti was placed behind the drivers seat (bed was laying above it). And that was in a model 3 😂. The girl demonstrated it, it actually worked.

Hello, nice video, how many % of battery do you loose per night because of the heating ?
Typically when using camp mode you will see a loss of 20%, however reports vary. I have a 2020 M3 and lost 20% in one night but I like to keep the car warmer than most as in the M3 the trunk gets cold and I only had a thin blanket.
I would say on a normal day where the heater doesn’t have to massively run 10-20%

Do you feel any cold coming from the roof window? I have such experience from other cars during cold days.
Teslas have a mode called “camp mode” which optimizes the car to keep it at a cozy temp you pick, so even if it was cold he wouldn’t feel it :) I’ve personally used this feature loads of times!

Seats cause an elevation of 15 degree when slant! These are used to deal with that angle
