Old Rusty Seax Knife Restoration

Hello folks! Today I want to show you my new restoration project. I found this seax knife at flea market. Seller said, this old knife him get from his brother which working as a blacksmith. I guess it’s handmade knife in viking style. In any cases I bought it for USD $6. I like a big knife, due to you can use it’s like a knife butcher or machete. First of all, I removed old brass rivets and one side of wood handle.
To remove main layers of rusty I used electrolysis and after washing in cold water with detergent.
Then start to polish it. At the beginning I used 80 and 240 gradation sandpapers after from 400 to 2500 and finally polishing wheel. Further I started to make a wood handle, I used nut tree. Rivets I used aluminum with a wholes and brasses. For knife wood handle I used a special oil for wood and after make test for that knife. Also, how you think this knife it's really seax knife?
