I wouldn't waste the time with either. I ran similar times with the stock ls1 cam vs the ls6. The hot cam would gain more, but it's 20 year old cam tech and hard to tune for what you get out of it with it's overlap. Not sure what you're going for since the ls6 cam and hot cam are quite different, but I'd recommend a Texas speed cam since they seem to be on the leading egde of cams for our engines. I'm currently running the Elgin e1840p (228/230 .585" lift). Went 11.14 @ 119.5 with it and it runs great on nitrous, but I feel like I left some on the table and might have broken 10s NA with a more aggressive camshaft (same specs, but better lobes).
Yes, race weight was 3,300. High stall converter is how you do it. Allows for full power from a standstill for low 60' times and a short shift extension keeps you in peak power the entire time. I actually went 11.66 with the stock cam. Swapped to the ls6 cam for nitrous since it peaks at a higher rpm
@@Cavguy23 how high of a stall? And what about your gears? I have tv2 cam 3600 stall and some prc heads that raised my compression by .5. I have zero weight reduction and with stock gears as well I ran an 11.8.
@@ding-a-ling what's your 60'? I have a Yank ss4000, an 8.8 with 3.73 and Mt pro bracket radials 28x9. I now have stockish 799 heads and summit 8708 cam (231/242) and went 11.05 @ 120 on motor and 10.44 @ 130 with 150 shot. You can see these passes in my other videos. Been 1.50 60' on motor and 1.46 on nitrous.

fronts are 16x8 trans am wheels with some used 225's. Rears are 15x8 Centerline Warrior with 26/8.5 MT pro drag radials

It worked great with nitrous and it was nice raising the shifts to 6500. I have since swapped it out for a 228/230 and self-ported 799s

@@ding-a-ling you have some et you can get from a better 60'. .2 quicker 60' will get you .4 at the finish
