    Mercedes-Benz has dabbled with all-electric vehicles thus far, but the EQS 4-door Coupe (or "slope-backed sedan," if you prefer traditional segment nomenclature), is the German automakers first ground-up EV effort. Billed as the most aerodynamic production vehicle on sale, the EQS has a futuristic bean-like aesthetic that is most generously compared to sci-fi vessel and most callously likened to a Honda Civic. But beneath its conflicted exterior is a lavish, cutting-edge interior to match its six-figure price tag. With tech toys like a 56-inch Hyperscreen display and classic luxuries like a well-insulated cabin, the EQS's silent propulsion only adds to the premium driving experience.
    The EQS 450+ appears something of a gap filler between traditional luxury sedans like the Merceses-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series and dedicated "premium" EVs like the Tesla Model S and Lucid Air. To be a hit, it will need amenities the current EV sedans lack and a performance efficiency punch the internal combustion 4-doors can't match. Find out if the 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS 450+ seals the deal in this in-depth review.

    Every single review the shape of the car, it's like the people reviewing forgot this is a fully electric vehicle so aerodynamics matter heavily. I think MB did a fantastic job both interior and exterior for a fully electric vehicle. And none even cover one of the most important parts of the vehicle, its range. For the price this is way way more luxurious then a Tesla hands down no competition.

      My thoughts exactly on every reviewer and people in the comments. Although even when the reviewer mentions aerodynamics they still say something about the shape next sentence smh.
      I'm in the minority and have no problem with the exterior, especially the front. I love the look. Still looks way better than the teslas do imo. Of course the interior is amazing, tesla can't come close.
      I'm not even a Mercedes guy but this is my favorite EV by far.

    Great looking car... Good presentation! The driver lane assist
    distronic extended restart in stop and go traffic (auto pilot) is better
    than Tesla in some ways... Very impressed so far. Yes, I own one of

    Hey Miles actually Mercedes wants to offer a car in every segment they serve by 2025 and go fully electric by 2030. That's what Ola Källenius said at the IAA mobility in Munich.

    The EQS undercuts the Tesla drag coefficient by a far margin. You need to get in tune with superb engineering and not absurd or non sense engineering which is common with Tesla and the competition. Mercedes always industry leader never a follower.

  • @Wised1000

    Comparing the rear of the S class to the EQS, particularly the cheapest model is nonsense. The S class (at least in the US) is a configured as a "limousine" ergo a chauffeured car where the rear in particular is "sumptuous". Not even the most expensive EQS is configured that way, that's why the S class can be configured to tens of thousands more expensive. In the EQS the rear is the same as the front "luxury worthy" but not palatial, the most expensive trim is similar to the S class but even then the S class can be configured to ever more decadent levels.

    • @MilesPerHr
      @MilesPerHr  Před 2 lety

      By dubbing this the EQ"S", Mercedes-Benz introduced the comparison. This model is intended to top the company's electric range (which, they've declared), will be their future. Therefore, it needs to deliver amenities on par with their current range-topper.

    • @Wised1000
      @Wised1000 Před 2 lety

      Of course, if you add 20k more to do so. If you had opted for a pinnacle version, the rear would have been even more comparable, though as we are all aware, the rear of the S class can be configured to kingly levels.

      @@MilesPerHr Thats down to the EU measurement, which let european cars look bad compared to US cars in some categories. 0-60 mph or 0-100 kmph is a similar thing. The Model S Plaid 0-100 in EU measurement would be like 2.5-2.7 in cheatmode, so the AMG EQS with its 3.3 is not far off even though its 600kg heavier and 300 hp less. Range is the same game. Never trust the 'official' numbers, always check out yourself.
