I prefer honda. 💯 I know alot of people here in the u.s who have had their Hondas for 18+ years or more and still going. No battery powered mower will run that long without replacing batteries at least 2-3 times. With can be very expensive.
The Stihl one in the test is a Briggs petrol engine but in fairness, the Honda is one of the best petrol engines on the market. Our customers get on really well with them 👍
I've worked in a stihl dealership before. They are made well machinery. Just the Briggs which went bankrupt then got nabbed by another company. Now if Briggs used their Japanese vanguard motors more I would buy that.
@@johndenver8574 I have one now in the USA, it is the RM 655 V, and I like it as much if not more than my Honda. The new Stihl mowers in the US have Kohler engines.
Just gone from a robust Honda to a stihl rm545vm because of the reason that it cuts better in the wet. Wish I'd never bothered. The stihl is light, yes, but that's only because it is made of cheap plastic, which I have found is easily breakable. Also found that the honda, which has an easy start engine, starts much better than the stihl. Honda is 4 years old, Stihl 2 months. Since putting this on, have returned the Stihl for repair or replacement under warranty.

A year in . Never again with Stihl. Cheap flimsy plastic. Blows black smoke, blows white smoke with slightest tilt. Doesn’t start first time either. My older Honda Izy still starting first time every time
the honda izy is great but its gonna rust if you dont clean it after every time you mow.

Totally agree same with weibang! Their sales would go through the roof.
Iv immediately questioned the handle bars in the stihl and from seeing the play from just the weight of the mans hands on it is a total fail for me.
The review says Stihl RM 448 VC but at the beginning you said that is the Stihl RM 448 TC? which is it?
Vc slightly more powerful than the tc I believe! Also I'm pretty sure the stihl has a faster forward speed the izy isn't a quick mower.
what makes the Stihl better in the wet?
They have a plastic grass collector so therefore the mower gets better airflow through the collector and it also doesn’t block

Sometimes my Sthil RM448 TX (Loncin engine) gives a lot of smoke when I start it; Sometimes zero smoke when I start it, why the difference? It's 2 years old and oil level is ok.
it may have been tipped slightly- usually the reason for smoke is a bit of oil in the exhaust. If it was cutting on a slight angle this could have done it. If it starts ok it's nothing to worry about.
@@johnmillergardenmachinery My old Honda never smokes :-). I use Stihl fuel, maybe I should use 98 octane like my Honda.
I found stihls customer service to be terrible. I won’t recommend them to anyone who t might be good gear but I’ve spent thousands with them to be lied to. Won’t happen again. I’ve even covered over the name on my gear to stop giving them fee advertisement.

@@Steven-jn2cw I ordered a new battery mower from a local dealer and was given a delivery date for end of June (I ordered mid June), I didn’t hear anything for a few days so enquired if that date would still be correct and was told stihl have now put the date back to end of July early August. I had already paid and asked if there was any way of knowing if the mower would then be out back in late July August to which stihl pretty much replied saying they had a delay and weren’t sure when delivery would be and to order another mower or ask for a refund I the asked how did they not know when delivery dates were when they had told suppliers to take orders from June with expected delivery dates that same month to then put it back by a month or longer again I got a short pointless answer. So I’ve now decided I won’t deal with them again I’ll buy from a rival.
I have had Stihl tools for forty years, fifteen petrol machines from saws to mowers. All going strong and I've been pleased with my AP battery blower too.
@@barlow2976 their customer service is appalling. I’ll use a rival now and cover up the name of the ones I continue to use with blue tape I won’t give them free advertising anymore. They’ve pissed me off big time and I’lll tell anyone who asks what shops I buy?. Stihl = never again.

Yes, the only time I strayed to Husqvarna the starter coil failed after three years and I was quoted £89, for the part only.. Never again.
