Well as some animated projects have shown they are made exclusively to get rich off investors by the people involved.

In Russia, the name of this movie was translated as "Guardians of the Arctic".
In Russian, the word "Arctic" is quite similar to the Russian word for Galaxy, which is "Galactika" (Arctiki - Galactiki).
The people who localized this movie tried to force an immediate association with "Guardians of the Galaxy".
Russian localization, unfortunately, is known for taking a lot of liberties when translating movies. They do fail with the most popular one because of the online backlash - the example being them translating Captain America: Civil War as Fall of the Avengers.
As for the desperation on Russian, well, trying to say that will most likely break your tongue, but it's "Otchayanie"

In Poland this movie is called "Śnieżna Paczka" which can translated as "Snow Pack". The word 'Paczka" can either mean the package or group of friends.

No pan. She is FAR to generic. No personality plus being in a bad movie, plus generic design means that she has close to no draw for people to draw her. She is far to low down on the totem pole for most artists to draw her except if they are commissioned, and that is unlikely, or for the memes, which I will admit, is fairly likely.

Fun Fact: Jeremy Renner has a band that sounds exactly like Imagine Dragons (in a very dad band sort of way). It's very surreal. He even had an app for all his fans that looked like a ripoff of Instagram that was just centered around Jeremy. It was fuckin weird.
That app reminds me of that Christina Aguilera program from 2000 that had you make collages of just her photos, neon 90s backgrounds, "dream cards" you earn from filling out questionnaires within the program, and "stickers". LGR and PushingupRoses did a review of that program. It's surreal.
Oh, and you cannot print out the collages.

In the studios eyes, the film lost even more than that. Roughly half of the money a film makes goes to the theaters. Sometimes it is more, sometimes it is less, but generally, it ends up being a 50/50 split between the studio and the theaters (side note, for this reason films usually need to make double their budget to break even). So the studio only got $1.5 million from their $50 million investment.

For me hes just the generic reviewer that was the stlye of 99% of channel awesome. I mean, it was fine for 2009ish but i grew out of that (alongside other reviewrs that i still apreciate).

I have a feeling the cast is going to be hit by the cold brew a lot as they try to forget this movie.

Once again for a big budget CGI kid's film, I find the 2D concept art to be way more visually pleasing than the final product.
The angular designs and sharp edges look great there, but are barely noticeable when translated into the third dimension. It just looks... like a 3D kid's film, y'know?
Not saying 3D can't do what 2D can, as Spiderverse and Laika films prove, but in general, I've always found 2D films to be more "out there" with what they can do visually.
Ah, whatever. My #1 wish is for the animation industry to finally look back to the 2000s and bring the thick-outlined geometric style from shows like Powerpuff or Clone High back. I fucking love that style, and while the style was originally developed for budgetary reasons, I'm confident that if it were given the backing of a large studio, it'd look phenomenal.

@@DiarraHarris Indeed, but my point is that even movies in the third dimension can have a ton of unique stylization when done right, and Laika's ability to do that with stop-motion, probably the most limited and hardest to manage form of animation, is further proof.

@brandon roberts Exactly, it was woven into the story because that's what it was about. This felt like it was trying to capitalize on the zeitgeist of a specific time, and as usual when lighthearted family movie attempt this, it's exceptionally tone-deaf.

FYI, that $50,000,000 cost would include the cost of marketing. There was a change in accounting rules some years ago, where the marketing costs for movies are now treated as production costs. No, I don't work in the movie industry. I'm just an accountant, but I remember reading about this rule change maybe ten or so years ago.
Replace mailman with Galactic Ranger and whatever the MC's name is with Ratchet and you easily have the plot of the Ratchet and Clank movie.
