Hey Kyle! Love the videos! One thing that I would love for you to talk about is the basics of a cruise - best type of room to book/how to pay for items that are not included/what to do before getting off the ship in terms of making sure everything has been paid. Our first cruise (Disney Wish 2024) & I have no idea what to expect/I don’t want miss something important.
I was just on Disney Wish and a way I paid for items that were not included was buy purchasing gift cards from Target with my Red Card to get 5% off. You can also purchase discounted Disney gift Cards at Sam’s Club, Costco, etc. Also, while on board if you shop using your Disney credit card you get 10% off merchandise. I had mine linked to room so when I went to store I told them that and they honored the discount.

Love the Quest, Love and Marriage game and Dancing with the Stripes on Royal Caribbean.
The towel fee is actually a good idea. They need to be able to account for all the towels they give out and your state room attendant already has enough to do, so having to run towels back to the pool deck is not something they should have to do. But when there’s a fee YOU have to pay for not returning your towel, it helps cutdown on loss and unnecessary work for your room host.
Mariner of the Sea has been on our list for awhile now and these vlogs have clinched that decision.

My husband and I are winners of the Quest game show when we went on a Royal ship for our honeymoon!
When you were talking about cards, you said they have cards in the Libary. Coming from someone who works in a Lib-rar-y it drives me crazy when people say Li-bary..... Hope you had an amazing cruze with family. We lost my dad this past December at the age of 91, but we did get to take a family cruise (my parents first one) back in 2019 on Liberty of the Seas and had a great time! Happy Sailing!!

We’re booked on the Mariner for 8 days in October to Bermuda, I was totally confusing it with the Monarch of the Seas until I saw your vlogs, so it will be a new ship for us!
Well a Disney cruise of course but I get what your Dad is saying . If I had to choose between a cruise and Disney World I'm going to Disney World it's just a magical adventure for me 🥰 Loved watching your trip it's been so much fun to watch ❤️
The reason they charge for towels, long ago the towels were embroidered with the anchor and Royal name and people stole them. They went to the plain looking ones so people wouldn't steal them.
I recommend prepaying gratuities with the total of the cruise. Also the insurance they offer just in case!!!

On my past cruise in November on the Grandeur of the Seas, we did a Sushi and Saki pairing in Izumi for lunch on our last day at sea. It was a special "event" that day.
It was so fun and sooo good.
The Quest is a classic for us on the cruise. One cruise a guy took off everything! The next Quest I went to last year they asked that they not do that. Also, they only recently brought back the Quest because of Covid. I saw it on the Navigator in December of last year. That was only the 2nd one they had done on that ship.
I also feel that since Covid the quest games have been a little more tame. Not sure why on the last cruise there were kids in there, which was very surprising. This was on the Anthem.
Love the Quest - been on board Royal for at least 15 yrs. So glad you all liked it!
So nice to see your family enjoying the cruise. A recommendation: NCL's BLISS, or sister ship because they started the "Free-Style" Dining experience and there's a real Go Cart race track where you drive the car and race around at sea. Enjoy that in Alaska! 🥰

Royal Pro Tip: Put the pool towels on the floor in the bathroom and your stateroom attendant will check them back in for you when they clean your room each day. They won’t usually take them if they’re hanging up.
It’s the funniest thing ever to watch. We played it and was the most fun we had on the ship.

I remember being an observer of the Quest and it was pretty crazy but hilarious
Love the Mariner. We spent 3 weeks on that ship in 2004 when it was new and ported in Pt. Canaveral. One was a back-to-back Eastern and Western. Sad to see they took the Dragon’s Lair out. It was a 2 story castle-like dance club and replaced it with more cabins and Izumi 😢. We finally did Quest after many cruises on RC on one of our last cruises this year. We always seemed to miss it. It was crazy! We really enjoyed your videos of this trip, (and all the others others). You have a fun family.

Wait for Florida resident special and get a deluxe family ocean view porthole room (sleeps 5…so no need for someone to sleep on top bunk).
Or book ahead as soon as dates come out for cheapest prices. I like deluxe inside rooms except the Wish inside cabins are too small.

I've emailed them before to tell them that they need to remove the word "hibachi" from that restaurant. It's not hibachi, it's teppanyaki and they're not interchangeable. I'm surprised that in the age of cultural appropriation that this is still constantly used incorrectly.
