Youth Challenge Vanuatu: Everyone deserves an education | Oxfam Aotearoa

An astronaut. A vet. A firefighter. A doctor. These are the familiar dream jobs that many of us aspired to have when we were children.
But for many youth in Vanuatu, these dreams are far from possible. While we have easily accessible education here in Aotearoa, it’s not so easy for young people living in Vanuatu. Less than 12% of young people stay through to Grade 13 - the final year of secondary school. In fact, most pupils leave the school system after primary school, which keeps them in low-wage labour jobs.
