Four years ago I was a Junior in high school and this EP came out. I fell in love with it, Skrillex, and EDM as a whole, as did all my friends. Now I've grown up a little bit, going to school, working, and renting a house. Times have changed, and i barely talk to those amazing people that I was once so close too. But every time I feel like reminiscing I just go back to this album and in some small way I feel like I have never left my junior year and all my old friends. Man, I love music :)
I think we all feel that way from time to time, bro. It's nice to know that sings can hold such amazing, and troubling, such heart left and sad memories.

Skrillex forgot that the best music is usually played alone and not to a crowd. He has gotten much too foucsed on catering for the rave crowd when really this is what I want from him again.
He seems to normally have one or two songs for himself (Like Fire Away with Kid Harpoon) on his albums so that he can both make money catering to a greater crowd and make music he cares about. I could be off-base there, though

Daniel Franke it seems that society now values performance more than composition, mainly because the main way they make money is by doing shows , festivals and what have you , live, since music streaming has become almost completely free, it’s a little sad but that’s what they had to do :/

Dude, my best friend and I always listened to Monstercat and played Black Ops II to the bone (I still play it cause its my fav CoD), and by Monstercat I mean albums 016 - 021 and 007. He moved nearly a year and a half ago due to financial troubles and his ill grandmother couldn't take care of her farm animals and such (he moved to Oklahoma, I live in New Jersey). Now its extremely hard for us to communicate as he got his phone number changed at least 3 times and got all new social media. Last summer we barely stayed in contact and now we talk every few months or so. Now, whenever I hear 3 specific songs, 2 of which were his favorite and listened to nearly 24/7, I get depressed and the feeling gets even worse when one comes on while I play Black ops II.

Now, I know you probably get enough of these messages from around the world and you're well more than sick of them by now, but I'd like to give it a shot and have a say in it myself.
To say how much people miss you, THIS Skrillex, the Skrillex that became the most brilliant, hard-hitting and most influential Dubstep artist on the face of the earth, simply can't be put into words. Whether people like you or not as an artist, they can never deny how much you changed Dubstep and EDM forever. I'm not trying to come up with a sob story or make you change your mind about what you make here and now, however I'd like to put my word out there to anyone who's listening and agrees with me that we need you back.
Back in 2010, Skrillex wasn't an artist to me (and so many others), he was a lifestyle. A thing you'd come back to after school and go on your computer for SPECIFICALLY for his music. Like then, what got me through the day was Sonny's music. It is and always will be your choice what you do with your career, Sonny, don't let fans stop you from doing what you personally love to do. However please take into account that the Skrillex people knew and loved, isn't with us anymore, and so many of us want you back. We love and miss you for what you were.
If you are reading this Sonny, please know that what you produce these days isn't even close to as what you used to do, however that doesn't change how I, how we, feel about you or your music. Know that Skrillex, gone or not, will always be in our hearts for what you were, and what you always will be; a true pinnacle of all EDM and a god of Dubstep.

Did this genre of music just die out? This sound randomly popped into my head and I suddenly remembered dubstep again, it’s been about 8 years for me…replaying Chrispy, Skrillex, etc. only to find out that there isn’t really any new music that sounds like this anymore.
dubstep as a whole never died and will probably be alive for a long while. but this type of dubstep did. brostep & chillstep are dead, nobody mainstream makes it anymore. i'd like to change that.
I have promised myself that I will come listen to these songs each year, so much of my childhood left behind
