In this video we'll check out a Namco 20 Year Reunion Arcade Cabinet at a hotel in Orlando. The game has Ms. Pac-Man and Galaga with a 25" monitor. Also in this video I'll show you guys the secret code you can enter to unlock the original Pac-Man game.
The code to unlock Pac-Man is (do this code after coining up): up, up, up, down, down, down, left, right, left, right, left, Ms. Pac-Man start.
You can also change the speed of Ms. Pac-Man by entering this code: left, right, left, right, up, up, up, fire, any start button.

I swear this cabinet is easily the most common arcade cabinet that's ever existed. It's everywhere.
I haven't seen one in person so, checkmate
My local arcade has 2 of them. I really want to have one in a good condition. I would spend weeks playing galaga. But they ate too much expensive
Both Wal-Mart and the movie theater in my area have this game.
@@TorutheRedFox I have, checkmate huuu durr. STFU...
nah
That cabinet actually doesnt use emulation,it uses a Z180,which is a more powerful version of the Z80,which is the CPU used in the original Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man and Galaga PCBs.
LBPPlayer7 actually it is because the z180 needs to emulate a z80
@@acidpurewarrior no it doesn't so no it isn't, it's fully compatible! the Namco Reunion cabs use an 18 MHz Z180 vs the original Pac-Man hardware with a 3 MHz Z80. The Reunion cabs even use the same sound format (WSG). Not sure on graphics hardware differences.
there's no reason to use emulation if the cpu is running the code natively, which it is. it would be stupid not to. lol
@@mrburns366 well you'd need emulation for other hardware if it's not physically present
@@TorutheRedFox right, and I know purists only want 100% original hardware but if the main gameplay loops is running natively that's close enough for me. My biggest gripe would be that they added continues! That's heresy! lol
They have one of these at my local walmart, I put a sticky note on the machine with the code and got in trouble lol
Lol
It's all original/authentic programming/code from Namco put onto the PCB... call it what you want, it plays 100% original, and that's why it's so good (unlike the 60-1 crap).
I allways get a bit excited when John puts up another video. John's contagious enthusiasm and clear explainations without repeating trivial or common sense issues forced me really into finally building a Mame arcade cabinet without any knowledge or experience what so ever. It turned out great. So many thanks for that, John.
Hey, I play on that exact cabinet in my bowling alley's arcade! It had Ms. Pac Man, Pac Man, and Galaga! Looked exactly like that.
I just watched your video. I just purchased Namco 20 Year reunion. I had no idea about Pacman code. WOW, thanks!
Sweet! Congrats on the cab! I'd love to have one!
+Theodore Vargas You don't actually have to turn fast-pac on with the menu. You can just do left right left right up up up fire
John's Arcade Game Reviews & Tech you forgot to play Ms. Pac-Man on the Namco reunion cabinet
Ms. Pac-Man was actually first released in January 1982.
I'm gonna try the Pacman trick
Its amazing to think in a 3 year period from 79 to 82 so many amazing games were produced
A 25" monitor in a standard-size Namco cabinet is nothing new. Some original Galaxian cabinets came with 25" monitors as well, back in '79.
Great video, John! This is actually my favorite arcade machine of all time!!!
Thanks for releasing these cheat codes for unlocking PAC-MAN, used them on holidays and kept coming back.
If you get your hands on the game board PCB, take a look at both sides and you'll see a pacman ghost on one side of it and a Galaga on the other.
This machine is one of the best re-releases ever! I hate the continues though...
The reason why the continue mode option is available is because the owner may need more money.
Also, this option can be turned off by going to settings, hitting “General,” and then hitting “Continue” mode from 1 credit to “Disabled” mode.
Thanks for the look at this game. There was one at our mall, a couple of years ago. Don't know if it's still there, though. Geez. For 3500 bucks, dang right, it should have silk screened glass! LOL ;)
Never knew the Pac-Man code until now. I wish I would've had this info earlier. Pretty cool stuff!

dude, ive been to every pizza resturants with arcade games and they had a pacman cabnet , it so much fun :)
I've played that cabinet in a pizza restaurant. Pretty cool. I didn't know you could play regular pac-man on it.
Hey John, I'm not sure if you know about this, but there's actually a weird bug in these cabinets. During the Galaga attract sequence, when the alien tractor beam grabs the player ship, you can press the fire button and actually kill it, at which point you'll be able to take control of the attract sequence and "play" it for a small amount of time before the game crashes and restarts.
nsongster that glitch works on original Galaga too. Halfway through the attract sequence you will be able to take control of the ship
I can get to level 9 in galaga with out losing a life
Same but I got two Channing stage one was perfict

I went to lvl 46 today and scored 460k
I don't mind games having continues if it's implemented right. There's a few ways of doing it right:
1. Put a note beside the high score indicating how many continues were used to achieve it.
2. Limit the amount of continues to 1 (like with Punch-Out and Super Punch-Out)
3. Have unlimited continues, but reset the score to zero on each continue.
Hey John! I own this same machine but in cocktail form. I really like it and my family seems to enjoy playing it too. The same code to play Pac Man is available. It's a really fun machine. I'm glad you reviewed it.
I'm okay with continues, but only if the score resets
I remembered seeing this at my Movie Theater at my home town. I played it.
This is the second arcade game I got. We love it.
You can also take over the Galaga game in the attract mode as well, depending on what you do, it will move on to the next part of attract, or it will restart the game. You have to wait until just before the Queen turns on it's tractor beam, and then you can start shooting. Do not get caught in the tractor beam.
Pacman 20 years Reunion and 25th Anniversary cabinets are not emulation at all as they are based on the 8 bit original code (slightly modified to handle the selection menu and the various gamespeeds) running on a Zilog Z180 which is an 8 bit processor 100% backward compatible with the old Z80 (actually 3 of them in Galaga) simply able to run at a quicker speed if requested. The logic of the original boards is embedded into 2 FPGAs placed on the PCB (1 for Pacman and 1 for Galaga) and protected with heatsinks. The only Namco Pacman cabinet to use emulation so far is the most recent "Arcade Party" which uses a Playstation 2 hardware running an emulator allowing to play 12 Namco Classics (64 bits processor running 8 bits code, that definetely requires software emulation :=) )
This might be the most common arcade cabinet ever. Ok, maybe not, but it certainly feels like it sometimes.
There's one of theses machines in a golf course restaurant in a town only 15 minutes away from me!
I use to work for an arcade company up there in Orlando I had all the major hotels on I drive now I live down in South Florida for a huge arcade company as a head tech
Nice video as always John. I play this at my local Dave and Buster's and it's great. The player can also change the Pacman, Ms Pacman, and Galaga speeds as well before starting even if the cabinet is operator set for normal speed. My friend does this all the time because he likes fast speed but D and B where I live has it set for slow speed. Very cool to see him hit the buttons to a certain sequence to change the speed. I also play the combo cabinet for Nintendo featuring Mario Brothers, Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Jr. Try to do a review of that if you have one close by. Would love to see that. Keep up the great work.
weird he had to fly to orlando just to check out that game. they are all over in socal and pacific nw.
This was always one of the most aesthetically appealing arcade cabinets to look at to me while I would love to own an authentic orginal Pac-Man or Ms Pac-Man arcade cabinet I feel like owning one of these reunion cabinets that contains Ms Pac-Man Galaga and Pac-Man as a secret hidden game is pretty interesting and would probably cost less then trying to own an authentic arcade cabinet of either Pac-Man or Ms Pac-Man but I love how the cabinet has the original side artwork for both games and then near the coin door there's screen shots of both games and even the control panel and the marquee are shared between the two game's witch overall adds to the very appealing design of this particular cabinet eventually though they did make a version thar included regular Pac-Man on it along with galaga and Ms Pac-Man I also love how this was relased in 2001 I'd imagine that these are still pretty common to find with that being addressed I didn't realize that this actually allowed for continues that amazes me how this cabinet allows you to continue where you left off on should you desire to do so in the first place I wonder how much these cabinets cost now I'd imagine that the price for this cabinet probably skyrocketed
Or maybe not but I wont know until I find out how much in terms of money and value that these cabinets go for
Game is legit totally dope I love playing it
You can turn off the continues feature. The Dave n busters near my house turned it off. But turned the speed up on permanently
love how you had a secret code to get pacman lol
That Galaga high score....that is WHY the lack of continue option is best.
On a Galaga machine with fast shots a high score table is pretty meaningless even without continues, in my opinion.
I'd think that high score was from the glitch where the aliens would not fire so the person could just play perfectly until level 256
That machine has my favorite games on it
Interesting Cabinet for sure, I hate the continue option too! If that can be turned off it would be awesome.
You can turn it off
Tech Boyz Team awesome!
How do u turn it off? I have the donkey kong one made buy Namco to. I can’t turn it off. There is nothing in the test menu to turn it off
Tech Boyz Team how do u do this
They have the same Arcade Machine at Mount Olympus Except it's the 25th Anniversary Edition with Pacman already Unlocked.
wow look at that burn in
Fast Pacman looks really fun.
The sound emulation sounds off. Listen to the sound of when the ghost gets eaten.
I just purchased a similar machine Namco 20 year reunion but has 40 games on it and small monitor Bought this brand new paid way too much for it but fun, Galaga my favorite, plays like I remember my only hate about this machine is the poor quality sound just wondering if there is any fix for this
Does this machine have a menu in which plays a melody? I’ve been searching for a combo machine that played a certain melody when the demo screens timed out. It was a Ms Pac-Man Combo machine like this. Machine was out around 2008-2009..
John ARE YOU NUTS!!!!? Heck continue is the best part when your game is over!! I'd say keep it on if I got it.
Fun fact: You can actually crash the game on the Galaga demo. The first time he gets captured, you can fire and if you destroy it, you get control for the rest of the demo. And if you get captured again, the game crashes and goes back to the ms. pac man demo.
Same thing happens if you actually beat the stage in the demo lmao
Managed that a few times when my area had a few of these cabinets around
Didnt know about the hidden pac-man. Emulated or not I would love to own one of these.
I own this arcade machine since 2004 when the PS2 was out arcade still rules the world of video games now that consoles no longer suck I don’t need to buy arcade machines or buy video games that suck on consoles
yes. i agreed with you. So far only Neo Geo system works. Wrapping up the scores before continuing. Great for Hi-scorer and people who wants to see the story ending.
I imagine all the changes were for cost and ease.
I love the big monitor! Really awesome.
I hate the cheap paper, digital printing, and non correct control stick. I played one of these arcades and it was blah because of these reasons.
Do you know where there any old school video game conventions going on this year.
They have that cab at my local arcade with a 60 in 1 in it.
My castle arcades bar has mini galaga machine. The screen is so small that galaga game looks small.
"...b/c I would be dead already in a real pacman ga... wup" haha that was hilarious
Why on Pac-Man does the second key not come out a lot? I noticed going over a million on one and two players it doesn't show the million and it would not give me second key a lot.
You've got the original Budweiser Tapper? There's only about 300 of those in existence!
I love this place have a lot of video games, pacman, ms pacman and galaga. I like the arcade machines , you need insert coin to play this games.
Thanks for the trick!
Does anyone know the monitor model numbers used in this for both the 25 inch version and the 19 inch version ?? Thanks
can you tell me where it is if it is still there becuase il be going to orlando flordia sometime
Tha cab was borderline MAME, watch out Jon! ;)
Are you ok with continuing if the score is reset and not on the leaderboards?
he went to florida jus 2 play pacman?
Rock Shoulder he can jus get mame
thatTUESDAYchannel no he didn't, it was a holiday he had and the hotel had that Namco Reunion there
John! When I Saw That Continue On Pac-Man I Was Like That Shouldn't Be Available!
Really nice idea but such a pity they cut corners with it. :( Bad burn-in on that monitor too. The bullets are sped up in Galaga as well..
This is the only cabinet that EVERY SINGLE ARCADE HAS HERE IN MY TOWN
+Dre The Gamer It's likely one of the most successful arcade games of the 2000's based on units sold, which shows what a sorry state the industry is in that one of the most popular games is a 20 year old recreation.
7:26 My childhood was 5. 😭
I didn't know the code on ms Pac man to play regular Pac man!

YOU DID THE CODE TO PLAY REGULAR PAC MAN!
I see some burn-in on the monitor. It's easiest to see during the cutscene.
John, I was play Super Glob. It ran on Pacman Hardware, and it was a German Bootleg.
Sure cool
How do I adjust the volume on this machine?
It's 100% Jamma, I own one.
I've seen this game at timber ridge at man oh man is it fun ms PAC man I love you
I wonder that if you do the Pac-Man secret code and select Galaga, it'll become Galaxian.
I have the 20th anniversary ms pacman/galaga cocktail one but it is on the fritz........frozen screen and annoying buzz...... I grabbed a 60 in 1 pcb but not sure if I need some sort of adapter as well........ those pins don't line up exactly....you get sounds but screen is just small lines....
thank you for giving us the code! the place by me is closing on New Years Day unfortunately but they have this 20th anniversary edition one too so I'm going to try the codes and see if it works!!!...... NOW WOULD THERE BE A DIFFERENCE THOUGH since the one by me is a swipe card play type and not coin operated?
It should work!!
@@Johnsarcade do you only gave you forgot to play in the namco reunion cabinet is Ms. Pac-Man
my bowling alley has this.
OH YEAH!
Is that at the Congo River Golf? My wife and I were in Orlando on our honeymoon and we were at the bus stop across from it waiting for that damn I-ride trolley. I wanted to go there but my wife didn't want to see the live gators!
hey John when is the next time you are heading to Florida
I have no idea! Nothing is planned. :)
It's an awesome cab
Do these games play as the originals? Or have certain glitches and patterns been patched?
Yeah, Galaga would be a fun project. Easy too. Black cabs are easy. :)
John's Arcade Game Reviews & Tech you forgot to play ms pac man
i see one in allentown on craiglist for $600, just has monitor roll, doesn't sound like a big deal.
Original Pac-Man: Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Left. You should hear a ding sound. Then to play, press Ms. Pac Man's Fire Button.
Fast Pac (Pac Man and Ms. Pac Man) or Fast Shot (Galaga): Left, Right, Left, Right, Up, Up, Up, then press Galaga's Fire Button.
I see this everywhere
my pizza hut has this same cab i play it every so now and then.
There is one on bc ferry's up in bc Canada has a very tired monitor
Huy Que Chimba De Maquina Esta Super!!
The also made a Pac Man 25th aniversary cabinet with MS pac Man, Pac Man, and Gallaga
I went to a movie theater and they had that machine
hi dear, are you well? please help me, i´m building a on game replica machine (full cabinet graphics and one game only, more near as possible to the original, so i would like that the machine turn on directly to the game, is there a way using some front end to mame, or linux, raspberrypi, somethink like that?
" Sega - Ari "the new Brand... 😊
Is the color better on this monitor or is it me
