    I'm very glad to have been suggested this video. I enjoy the visuals you chose, and I appreciate the advice. The one suggestion I would make is to lower the volume of the background music (or do without it), if only for those of us who may be oversensitive to sound, or have trouble with processing sensory input. Your microphone and sound in general is great, though, so well done!

    This was so helpful! I love English Country style, but I just moved into a Brooklyn brownstone. So finding ways of using what I love about English country while not trying to clash with some of the lovely parts of the architecture in my apartment helped make things click. Thank you and good luck with your channel :)

    Great video. I’ve been thinking about this lately and how to have more cohesion. I think I keep changing my ideas of how my apartment should look like and it results in lack of cohesion. What are some additional ways to do this? Pick a color palette? Would love more follow up videos on this topic.

    I knew pretty much immediately that I would love this channel. I can't believe this is your first video (the quality is amazing and you have a knack for it!). I love that you mentioned your background and the purpose for implementing trends but chose to talk about how to achieve personalized design that prioritizes timelessness. Your reference photos are phenomenal (I have quite a few of these pinned too), the concepts that you're bringing up offer some fresh perspective, and I can't wait to watch more! I'd love to hear you talk about how to bring personality to a newer builder grade home as that is what my generation will likely have once we can afford to buy/the economy improves. Personally, I feel like I began to flesh out my own style once I started learning about and shopping for vintage pieces! I love collecting things over time that are handed down, have a story, and can't just be found on Amazon

      Thank you so much for this comment!!! I happen to be someone who lives in a newer build myself. I live in a city where character homes are hard to come by and are usually pretty pricey 🙁 It really can be such a challenge to work with a newer home - it is for me! But you’re right - for so many of us it’s just the reality. I definitely want to make a video about how to add character to a new build! 😊

    I wouldn't say a great sense of style is someone who dresses in a way that reflects who they are. I've known plenty of people dress for 'who they are' and comfort, who always wore yoga pants and sweat shirts or plaid shirts and jeans - not stylish. Stylish to me is more quality fabrics + timeless design + a good fit so it looks effortless.
    I'm here for people doing their own thing that suits their own design. Would love tips on how to elevate my personal style just a bit. How to make my thrown together collection of what I love so it looks more purposely curated. Looking forward to more videos.

    Welcome to CZcams, Tara. Your presentation style is calming, encouraging and is so needed. Defining a style is really difficult, at times. I’ve gone through phases where less is more followed by more is more; neutral color followed by awash in color; traditional furniture followed by modern. None of them stuck, which isn’t (necessarily) a bad thing as we do evolve but, after your video, I realized that I rushed the process and didn’t allow the style to reveal itself to me. I had a space to fill and I filled it with whatever would fit or was in the budget…and I was miserable. With age has come a little common sense; allow the energy of the space to talk to me. It knows what belongs and what doesn’t. Then, it will truly be a home. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience.

    • @tarapallaychannel
      @tarapallaychannel  Před měsícem

      So well said! I absolutely believe you have to pay attention to the energy of a space. Every room you ever walk into will make you feel a certain way - if you take care to understand it, it will help guide you to make the right choices. I don’t say this in a woo-woo way (lol) it just comes down to emotions and instincts 😊
