The first time my nose started running and all i had to do was flick open the visor to use tissue.. took a drink and a toke before putting the visor down I knew Predator was the right choice 🙂
FoV win
I am jealous. I did not do much research and have a motocross helmet with goggles. There is no flicking anything open with my setup.
@@malibuflavor Well allow me to assuage you of any remorse. I too have a moto x helmet collecting dust 😆
Woh I got pinned by Jimmie I feel so special 💓
I looked to purchase it in Korea, but delivery was late. Also, colors are limited. I want to see a variety of colors and choose. From a buyer's perspective, I want sophisticated and diverse colors.
Great head to head review! Really helpful. Thanks for making it.
I'm sold! Just purchased the Predator DH6-Xg Gloss Grey. Great review guys. Looking forward to the light-weight experience. Thanks for doing a great break-down.
The review I've been waiting for!
Thanks for the video! I was just looking at both of these helmets myself!
Both great with pros and cons to each.
I was looking hard for comparisons for these helmets before and I have to say that this is exactly what I needed at the time lol.
Glad it helped!
Great review...Thanks for the info Jimmy. I was just deciding which one I might get.
been waiting for this video!
I appreciate yall honesty in the reviews
Thanks for the rundown, I have been meaning to upgrade and there weren't many really good choices that I felt fit what I wanted. This really helped drive home field of view considerations that most helmet manufacturers can't seem to get through their heads - I am running tadpoles and EUC (3 and 1 wheels) and the EUC really requires something drastically different than most motorsports use cases. Weight is *very* important as is as much field of view as one can get.
I have what's technically a skydiving helmet coming in a couple more weeks (they had to make it); once I priced out the good longboard/downhill helmets it wasn't a far leap (+75 USD, maybe) to lower tier flight/skydiving helmets, and some of them are pretty sleek (wind tunnel rated) with maximum field of view of any headgear I've been able to find.
I prefer the modular style helmets so I went with (not an affiliate, I really don't know how good it is going to be) Bonehead Composites' Fusion model. It doesn't look as sleek, but they have one-piece models that are even more minimalist with wide open field of vision for the same price as I paid for the full open face convertible model.
This is my first day watching your channel. You guys are awesome at reviewing this stuff. Subbed!
Awesome, thank you!
I'm so glad I went with the Predator Helmet, it cost $420 to get it from Canada but it was well worth it.
Everyone including strangers always comment on how cool it looks and it fits real good too. Goes great with my Vsett 10+ and at a lil over a pound in weight it is super light. Perfect for those 2 hour scoots
👍🏻
Thanks again guys. I got the blue and white stripped one that Jimmy has here.
What color did u get ?
At $389 for the Predator and $599 for the TSG Pass Pro I can't see many people buying these helmets. They are very nice helmets for sure, but the price is way too much to swallow.
TSG is like $300 on Amazon idk if it’s the pass pro model tho
The Pass Pro is $389 CAD and the Predator is $599 CAD.. at least at our store.
I see what you mean but I guess you can also say it’s worth it if they protect you during a hard crash. Saves on hospital bills. Idk for me I am so finicky with helmets. Full face always bothers me because I wear glasses
@@mrreddington777 honestly any full face helmet should do the trick, no need to spend so much unless you wanna look cool. They look very sleek thats for sure. I got myself fox proframe, and I still think that I overspend. Can easily find good helmets for 100-200.
Backwards 389$ for TSG, 599$ for predator
Great review guys! We'll be getting a big re-stock of Predator helmets tomorrow so if they sell out, not to worry.. more on the way!
I noticed the eevee’s logo on the thumbnail lol
@@liamlove2356 The branding is working! Haha

@@freshlychargedwow only EN-1078 rated means bar hasn’t been set very high.basicily an overpriced skateboard helmet. Helmet is pointless from a safety aspect as you would exceed its safety capabilities at very low speeds.
@jimmy thanks for the video! i have been waiting for this review :)
Thanks for tuning in!
Just put in my order for a Onewheel GT today and was starting to look up helmets. Great timing for the vid upload! Thanks, it made it a lot easier to make a decision!
Congrats! Hope you love it!
What was your decision?
@@onecrazywheel Predator. I plan on wearing a full-face helmet even on hot days so the extra ventilation was the deciding factor.
@@hiddenlawyer After this video I plan on getting the blue Predator too. It is a nice looking helmet. I ride a motorcycle 🏍️ everyday to work so a full face helmet like this would be cake to wear. I want to use it while riding my new Juiced Rip Racer electric bike. This will be a great helmet. God Willing if the crash ever happens at least the face and head will be protected! Thanks for the response.
@@onecrazywheel Whoa, careful. The predator is not rated for motorcycle use. It is basically a bicycle helmet. Always check what a helmet is rated for before purchasing!
The grey helmet is sick. I'm ordering one now, THANKS 💯
Just picked up a red TSG pass to wear while riding my new V11, so excited
Totally pointless from a safety aspect.
I ended up going with the tsg pass pro since it was something like 30% off at eevee's. But I am so glad that I took your advice and got an xl. Im loving the helmet but even xl feels just a bit tight.
Thank you for the review Jimmy and Andrew!
I've been on the fence about which of these helmets to get.... and your review has me leaning more towards the Predator, but while wanting it more, for almost double the cost ($390CAD vs $600CAD) I think I'm going to have to get a TSG still. I'm just worried about the sizing since the TSG sizing needs to be precise whereas the Predator is a one size fits all, but I will go one size up like you suggest
The TSG is a lote more friendly on the pocket book. A lot of people say it fits normal. I'm a medium normally and I fit in the medium TSG Pass Pro. Jimmy's brain is just so massive, it's hard to get anything around it.
They do sell certified quick snaps for motorcycle helmets. Like a strap buckle. Just clip in, and squeeze to release. It makes the d ring so much more convenient. I put them on all my helmets
Thanks for making my decision easy for my next upgrade. Predator for sure! I like how open the face is when you open the lid!
Solid guys!😎🤙🏽
Glad I could help!
I use a New Olders Avitar V2. Downhill racing helmet out of Brazil, highly customizable, great fit and looks awesome.
Hahah Thank you for answering my question in your previous Begode Master video! Talk about answering it in a big way. Was just expecting a reply to my comment!? This video was TOTALLY for me right??? RIIIIGHT???? lol jokes, just being cheeky. Thanks for the informative vid as always guys!
This video was 100% just for you.
@@freshlycharged Aww shucks fellas... you guys sure know how to make a subscriber feel special. *fist bump* I know it's not true but I appreciate you sayin' nonetheless! ;)
Great comparison! I know both of these have their own safety certifications, but I'm curious how these would stack up to full face MTB helmets with tech like MIPS and/or Koroyd.
I wonder as well. We'll have to do more research to find out.
Well, MIPS is a specific thing that will always perform better in that specific type of accident than even the highest-rated helmets without it. The predator is built alot like a strong elbow pad and would demolish most half face motorcycle helmets for our use case do to egg physics 😉. The important part is that you wear them so get what fits your lifestyle.
Thank u for this video 🔥
I cried when I saw the predator pricing
It is definitely on the pricey side.
Great review! Very helpful for those who don't have local access to a shop where we can compare, touch, size and fit ourselves. One question if I may? It's not really an apples to apples comparison because the Predator is lacking MTB downhill cert. therefore calling its safety into question. I do like the the Predator for all the advantages that you mentioned though. In your opinion does the shell itself and the head liner seem to have the same structural integrity as the TSG? Thanks again for making the video.
Thanks for the comparison great job. Just wondering when you say the face is more open on the predator doesn’t that mean your face is more exposed if you face plant??
Thanks Jimmy!!🙏
Wooow u guys read my mind thank you I was literally was just about to ask what helmets use plus are they glasses friendly?
I noticed TSG has released the Pass 2.0 It would be great to see a review like this including the new model.
Hey Jimmy I bought and wear the TSG while riding my Mantis. Thank you for the recommendation. And by the way. It’s $100 cheaper on Eevee.
Great video, how do these two compare to the bells helmet you guys have? I live in Florida and I'm in between the predator and the bells.
Both amazing helmets. The Bell will have more ventilation and is lighter. I do like that you can remove the chinbar on the Bell helmets but with high speeds, I always leave it full face.
The TSG Pass and Predator are sleeker, but may get hot in that Florida sun.
Loving my 7IDP Project 23, you have to put on sunglasses but big deal, heat is more of an issue for me.
I love my TSG. I just wish they would make some more colors.
I have the Pass pro and the horse shoe foam is supposed to push your breathing downward to lessen the fogging. you have to adjust it so its just above your lips. it works for me
Do your lips touch it? Mine do, and it feels gross rubbing my lips on that wet piece of foam on long cold rides.
@@freshlycharged
Haha, eww gross! I wonder if just breathing with your nose instead of your mouth would help?
Note that F1952 helmets are heavier than road helmets and their harder foam to meet the more severe impact requirements may affect performance in lower level impacts. Even without chinbars the helmets resemble light motorcycle helmets
Andrew's Begode Master epic crash while wearing the Predator helmet convinced me. Couldn't find an enclosed helmet with visor that I can drink water without using a heavy flip up helmet that weighs 5 lbs. At 2 lbs, the Predator is an ideal lightweight PEV helmet. Bit the bullet and ordered the matte black. Close to 5 bills is not cheap but the Predator's fit form and function has no rivals.
Btw, how's the airflow in the helmet? Every helmet I've tried are hot and heavy with pressure points. They all have these air valves but I can't tell if it works.
One last thought. When Andrew crashed hard on the Begode Master I believed if he had worn a 5 lbs helmet he would've sustained neck injuries.
I wish they were more affordable. I thought the POC MIPS helmet was getting into pricey range until I looked into these helmets. It doesn't seem like that much more material. Maybe they can't sell enough to lower the manufacturing costs? Love the look and the full protection.
I've always wanted this coz its sleek and the fov seems outstanding. But the price is just meeeh. I'm leaning over AGV K1 or maybe Bell qualifier. Thoughts??
Purpose of the "U" shaped foam around your mouth in the TSG is to keep your breath from condensing the lens.
You guys is such an inspiration , that helmets are my dream helmet since i started downhill skateboarding but its to expensive here in Philippines so hard to bought one 🥲 , Love your review to this lovely helmet(TSG , Predator V2) guys . How i wish i can bought one someday to continue my passion ang love for downhill skateboarding . God bless to your channels continue inspiring people guys with your awesome review 🙏👏.
Do you know where to buy?
*Arguably two of the BEST full face helmets, especially for esk8*
⚡🤙🏼🤙🏼⚡
Love my TSG Pass, Pass Pro is lighter. Predator is a great option too, mouth area is more open for havin a drink with the Predator on 😂
I do appreciate the coverage over the mouth area on the TSG Pass that the Predator doesn't have althought that won't matter to many.
Mirrored visors are 🔥
I wear my usual size with the TSG Pass, perfect fit, flattens out a little after first 30mins and conforms to the face/head. "Horseshoe" mouthguard is supposed to push moisture from your breath downwards but visor can still fog up when not movin. I usually have mine cracked open a tiny bit, to hear my surrounds, music and less fogging.
Those are all great points! I can drink with the TSG Pass on but I have to pull down the helmet and hope I don't spill on myself.
Isn't feel kinda safter on the TSG with the mouth area more covered than the Predator? In case of a crash the visor is not going to do any protect, and one would hope it doesn't end up cut ones face when it breaks.
You must be joking? Helmet is not even rated at bicycle speeds 😂 overpriced skateboard helmet. All looks with minimal safety.
@@SpoonfulBurnsideyes you are correct as helmet is only rated at low speed crashes. Helmet is not even rated at basic bycle speeds which is totally pointless
@@chefgav1 lmao, TSG Pass is rated for downhill skatin, they go pretty fast lol. Way faster than cyclists. But havin said that, the way people fall from a board vs a bike is different, so the type of impact will be different. People know to research and make informed choices. I skate/eBoard, so I got a downhill full face helmet. Good luck with your choice anyway though
Why is there no white and neon yellow color? Have they been discontinued? I love these bright colors, they are uplifting and highly visible on the road for passive safety.
I just ordered a TSG Pass TBH the price is my only gripe when looking at it but it looks so clean and is not nearly as bulky as a motor cycle helmet so I Decided to swallow the damn pill and order it. will work great with my EBIKE and onewheel.
Note* The link provided in the description in order to purchase a DH6-Xg is 150 dollars more than on the original manufacture's website. Maybe update that? And my Predator helmet only came with two lenses. Black and clear. Gotta pay 75 now for the chrome unfortunately.
How much wind noise around 30mph? My downhill non visor helmet is really loud and looking for a quieter one so I can hear things when cruising
I think the mouth padding in the TSG is to reduce fogging.
I’ve tried both and prefer the Predator as well. I like TSG’s other protective gear though!
Do you think that mouth padding helps too to reduce fogging? Maybe I’m using it wrong. On long rides when it’s cold, it just becomes a wet sponge that touches my lips.
I'm really been wondering about these cuz I always love your guys helmets and then wondering what they was. So are they not d o t certified? Is it still okay to ride them on the road and Most states I assume?
I really love the look of these helmets, I find that most cheap ones(under $200) have very poor visibility unlike these 2
personally I had to return my Pass, was way too tight and painful/hard to fit my glasses(plus they wouldn't fit when the visor is down)
but I will consider the Predator for this summer, I hope its gonna fit me
What’s your head circumference Jimmy? Thinking about getting the TSG, but my head is 24 inch.
Thanks so much for this!
I’m a new V11 rider, and I’m shopping helmets🪖🪖
I have a beard, and this vid convinced me the Predator is the better fit because of the more open muzzle area!
After a few months of fumbling about with the pass pro, i had to switch out the double D fastner for a click fastner, those things are the pits.
Not just getting it threaded, but pulling it tight pinches your neck too.
And then come home, and you can't get the bloody thing off!
So much better now. 👍
Also i had to buy a Windjammer Proline sock for the bottom of the helmet for the winter.
When leaning forward like on a bicycle, everything is fine, standing upright on a scooter however, the cold wind hits your chest and goes straight up into the helmet, over the top and out the back, after a while, it's like you just scarfed a bowl of ice cream.
With tha added bonus that the sock covers the the air vents on the sides (no noticable difference in hearing ability) and stops that damned wind noise.
I like it now, warm, cozy and quiet.
I just ordered a Predator helmet thanks to this review. Asian heads can be shaped differently, and it's good to see this one fits.
I just got my tsg last week. Love it but it will fog up like you said.
I use some anti fog spray when it's cold outside.
You guys sold me on the nami max and the predator helmet
have u guys managed to try as well the ILM 726x? was wondering if its also worth it.. sold on the tsg and predator but the pricing is still a tough pill to swallow.. then saw the ILM as an alternative so wondering what you guys think
NGL, I'd prefer the TSG because of the "beefier" chin guard. I'm not sure how strong the Predator's chin guard can hold up to a face plant but then again, I ride with a full face motorcycle helmet so what would I know. 😅
The blue predator with the reflective lens looks like cobra commander.
I just got an EX30 now I'm worried about my Predator not being DOT approved. Hitting speeds of 50mph and up I'm thinking this isn't a good option anymore. When I had my v11 I wasn't too concerned lol
Nice review of these helmets guys, I have the Blue/white TSG pass like you Jimmy, had it for a year now and actually really like it. Also get slight fogging at cooler temps, but its fits my head nicely. I use this as a spare to a Ruroc Atlas which is much heavier and tighter, So its always a pleasure putting on the TGS...
It does look like it protects very much. Just a shell with little internal protection. Looks like your head moves a lot inside. My motorcycle helmets have more of a tight fit not moving around. Nice thick padding. Also I notice not to many ventilation when you want air flowing through the helmet. On hot summer days I’d want air flow and an extraction vent of hot air near the back.
Pro tip for TSG Pass fogging: get a Fog City anti-fog lens. It's similar to pinlock but you don't need the pins to install it. The "enduro" size fits great on the Pass.
I was riding in my Pass all winter, all the way down to 15°F, and it worked great. Makes a gigantic difference.
Another pro tip: Don't worry about helmet weight. Everyone thinks helmets are "heavy" until they actually start riding in it and then they don't even notice it. And claims that PEV riders move their heads around more than motorcyclists are misguided nonsense. Motorcyclists have their heads on a swivel just as much as we do. Motorcycle helmets are a great choice for people riding in street traffic, it's what they're designed for.
Hi Jimmy, what is the exact circumference of your head. I think I have a larger head and I wear glasses. If you have trouble with them(TSG) I might too but I want to make sure.
Will these Helmets protect against hard falls at 40mph? I just bought a Nami Burn 2
Absolutely not. They are not DOT certified and I believe they are only rated to a max speed of like 20mph. I wouldn't be caught wearing anything but a full face moto-cross or motorcycle helmet if you plan to go anything over about 20mph. There are a ton of options with better ratings than these helmets and many of them are cheaper as well.
Just some info on the safety ratings for these and other MTB helmets. The EN 1078 and ASTM 1952 ratings you'll see thrown around with these are straight line impact tests on to anvils at around 6.2 m/s or 13 mph. Imo not enough for high speed eucs, eskates, or scooters, (maybe enough if the helmet also has mips or some equivalent rotation tech), but just figured I'd throw the engineering nerd info out there. Cheers!
Oh wow. I had no idea it was that low. That's crazy that they would consider that good enough for downhill mountain biking.
@@Andrew-vt4jt It technically should be unless you're running big gravity trails or an e-mountain bike, but yeh. It's why seeing new certifications like FIM is exciting cause people are re-examining how the things are tested and at what speeds.
Nerds make the world a better place! What’s your recommended helmet?
:( this is a common misinterpretation of how helmets work.
The vast majority of head impacts don't involve a direct hit at higher than 13mph. Most often it's just you falling onto the ground. Only your vertical speed matters. Unless you get launched up into the air, these helmets will be adequate. Even if you do hit something besides the ground, it's often at an angle.
Though it is a good idea to get more protection at higher speeds, just in case you do hit something that isn't the ground. For reference, though, even motorcycle helmets are only tested at something like 17mph. If you want a helmet that will save you when you ride straight into a brick wall at 35mph, it just doesn't exist.
@@SkeptikosUTubeexactly. My uncle died on his motorcycle wearing a helmet. Hit the curb, flew off and smashed head first in to a pole. Broke the whole top of the helmet like a lid.
Wish we have this available here
I bought the predator helmet (air version). Matt (company owner of predator) charged me $69 for 2 day air shipping. He shipped the helmet via economy and kept the money. He also shipped the helmet without the mirrored visor even though it shows the mirrored one installed on the website and says it includes the black and clear. Other videos show it should come with all 3.
I’m sold if they put MIPS!
Looks badass
They're crazy expensive but the visor seems useful. Have you checked xnito? They don't have the visor but they're super safe
I'm considering an e skateboard and want a full face helmet. Would you recommend something like this or an mtb full face helmet?
I think there is a label on one or both of these helmets that specifically state "not to be used with motored vehicles" which an EUC falls under. They look cool but overprice and low safety standards for the speeds hit on EUCs
To me it seems the no brainer move is to get a motorcycle helmet, especially if you’re moving in and out of traffic or are going motorcycle speeds
@@berengerchristy6256 The motorcycle helmets usually block our side vision. Thats why EUC helmets tend to have a wider field of view. Motorcycles have side mirrors so you can glance at what's behind you and turn enough if you need to. On the EUC there are no mirrors so if you want to use a motorcycle helmet you can but you usually have to attach a mirror to your hand or get dual sport DOT helmet and attach a mirror to the front visor. Youre not wrong and It can be done but there are trad-offs with the ability to see with ease.
@@trancendedmindpalace I wore full face mtb helmets when I was feeling extra fast on the downhill, and turning my head wasn't so bad. I don't think the field of view would be much worse than that. It's not like I'd be wearing it all day
I prefer a real motorcycle helmet when using any PEVs, especially when I speed up to more than 30mph. Besides, on any PEVs , I don't need to strive like cyclists or skateboarders; the weight on my head doesn't affect me much.
Yeah, so am I, I have the TSG Pass, but now, almost get not used, I have switched to my new Nolan N70 2GT, great vision angle, a lot of configurations (chin off, on, etc.) and almost for the same price including their proprietary intercom system N-Com
I bought a motorcycle helmet, but felt that its going to be hot as heck in it when summer hits, cause you're not going as fast as a motorcycles most of the time. So I got fox proframe, still not 100% about it.
I have a leatt 8.5 full face helmet, pretty good
Besides the cheek pads- (small medium large) - what are the small pads for in the predator?
Not in any disagreement but - I'm writing while recovering from surgery from a very serious PEV incurred injury (my very first accident in 9,000 PEV miles, completely unforced, solo and my own fault, even though I was heavily padded with all appropriate PPE). Even with protective gear, I'll be down for months before back to 100%. Out of work all that time. Accidents really do happen even though we never think they will. So from my perspective, the full face mouth protection (and firmer fit) of the TSG just might come into play in a direct hard facial impact. Saving the chin, pearly whites and surrounding area. Maybe not as good for Vlogging, but as far as the primary goal, perhaps a notch more protective from frontal impact. Unscientific, but just an observation. My own TSG does have a tendency to fog while not moving in cold weather, and that's another safety issue.
I hope your recover process comes up all good! How did your accident happens,if you don’t mind share it? Overall I would prefer a full face helmet with a chin protection and MIPS as well
@@oshintaoo Thank you for asking, and good window here for me to be able to share experience where others may see, so they can be forewarned to avoid this particular danger. Apologize, as this will be wordy, but if it saves one person, then well worth the effort to write and to read.
My recovery is slow but will be to 100%, so I'm grateful I'll be OK and can't rush the healing. My accident was on a powerful e-scooter, not an EUC. Here's how it happened:
I was geared up , full padded motorcycle pants and motorcycle jacket, knee and shin guards on top of the pants, TSG full face helmet, thick leather motorcycle gloves, a type with knuckle guards. Appropriate for my very high performance top tier e-scoot. Was heading out for a meet up and 25 +/- mile group ride, on a cool, sunny Saturday. First GR of the spring. (Have 9,000 urban miles on e-scoots with zero accidents, very athletic rider advancing over years and miles up to the best equipment, experienced daily rider also of EUC and dual motor e-bike. Daily all season PEV commuter, veteran every day PEV user for 5 years. Never any accident, never injured before. Anything but a noob. My PEV commute is always the best part of my day :-)) Soon after departing, near an intersection, coasting barely more than walking speed, I reached over the bar for the brakes on my scoot. But the thick glove of my right hand somehow got jammed in the trigger style throttle. Couldn't release and couldn't reach to activate either brake - all too fast and wasn't ready with forward lean for the acceleration. Immediately lost control. Couldn't reach brakes because I was thrown a bit back on the machine. (Those who ride this powerful class understand about needing to distribute weight forward to accelerate and back to brake - and you cannot do this improperly. The machine can toss you and is not forgiving.). Inside of one second, I instantly, unintentionally accelerated at full throttle into a curbside pole. Probably shot up to close to 20mph in that 30 or 35 feet. Literally less than a second. Knee impacted with the pole, or the curb, I don't know which, but full impact stop immediately/ no roll possible - like a hammer. Knee hit so hard that it knocked my leg back and up, right out of the hip socket, dislocating it and breaking bone in pelvis and around the socket. Also cracked the ball of the femur. Very serious blow out injury requiring a major surgery. When I reported the incident and the cause of it to my group, East Coast Scooters, a good many members (who typically ride Dualtron, Wolf Pro, Rion and other high level/ high performance 60+ mph capable scooters) reported having had similar glove caused jams that caused unintended acceleration incidents. Learned from the group that this is a known (but seldom shared) phenomenon and I'm not the first to experience it. Though I unfortunately learned the hard way. Thankfully, most who commented and reported experiencing this were luckier and did not report resulting injuries. But they did report major scares and panic. Involuntarily accelerating from 20 to 50mph in one stated case, but that one not resulting in a crash. A scooter shop proprietor said that he routinely warns his buyers of exactly this danger - glove jam in the throttle. So am glad to be able to talk about it here to make others aware and prepared.
Have to reinforce this point for the unfamiliar.... the highest level scoots in top gear require the rider to be active in weight shifting. If you mash the throttle without leaning forward, intentionally or accidentally, the machine will leave without you. That strong. Therefore, If you hit the throttle without being ready, you are in a very unstable position. This was a giant factor in my accident. Once it started, there was little way to recovery. The safest for me option, not taken, was to release entirely and let the scooter go. Not a great option either, as it could have run up on to the sidewalk and hit innocent pedestrians.
Besides the right PPE (protective clothing) e-scooter riders should be very careful and deliberate about throttle and brake positioning on the handle bars. Visualize and rehearse this every time you use different hand wear. The slightest variation can make a huge difference. This is particularly important for the big-boy scooter class than can easily get out from under the rider if weight is not proactively distributed by proper stance. Be hyper aware of cold weather gloves/ wrist guards/ protective gear on the hands and how it will interact with throttle and brakes. And on the very high performance machines that can literally throw the rider around, have a vision, a mental plan, to bail off the machine if necessary. Better sometimes to roll than to impact crash. This is a long explanation, but believe me, without the right prep, recovery from an accident takes a lot, lot longer than reading and heeding these words. Obviously, this warning applies to scooters only. Hands free EUC's have their own safety protocols and issues to be aware of. Only speaking of the fast scooters here. Thanks for patience to read the above. Please have fun but stay safe.
@@bkanegson I hope you've recovered quick as possible. Thanks so much for your generous, enlightening warning.
I am getting my first EUC soon and look forward to group rides.
@@calebe6798 Thank you for kind wishes! Recovery is still slow, still have a bit of a decreasing limp, yet am gradually progressing. Happy to say, am back on the horse, riding again. Always the most fun part of my work day. Thanks again and be wise out there :-)
6:45 that piece of foam is to keep fogging down when you’re talking or breathing through your mouth.
is there foam on top of the head? or just a very slim foam (like bike helmets)?
Love my TSG Pass Pro
How about this one against a EXO-AT950 with DOT and MIPS certification and the price is around 280$ USD, I think Jimmy you should recommend higher safety helmets.
Guys if you go straight to Predator's website these helmets are $395. On the affiliate link the cost is $477! Yikes. Maybe Predator can give you a coupon code instead to go straight to their website instead...? Great video.
@Jimmy chang emm does in USA average ppl has so small head Size ? Both of those two Brands dont fit , do you have sugestion for 2XL Size ?
I just got the icon airflite I like riding my esk8 with this helmet 😎
It is good? Not to heavy?
Check out the Kali Invader. $225, 650 grams, full face but no lens, just wear some sunglasses. Much friendlier looks from strangers than when wearing a more menacing looking helmet with a lens.
That horseshoe-shaped piece of padding in the TSG pass can be removed. It's attached with velcro. It's purpose is to reduce fogging. I have not seen a difference in fogging with it removed.
I ride with a group of eskaters and a lot of them wear these helmets, but I don't think that chin/jaw guard is anywhere near enough. They are smaller and lighter than motorsport helmets and such so I guess that's the trade off.
Is the inner seal removable for washing?
What about for gopro mounts? Would it block the airflow? What about ventilation and able to listen to music?
You can use 3m adhesive to mount go pro attachments.
what helmet is good for a beginner on a 150cc scooter?
I just recently started looking to upgrade my escooter helmet (a bicycle helmet) and was shocked by the asking prices of these so called PEV helmets. Bought a Bell motorcycle helmet instead for significantly less money and got a safer, stronger, and less noisy helmet that I can also wear when riding my motorcycle. Heck, I probably should have just used my original motorcycle helmet, a modular full face helmet. Very convenient to be able to flip the entire front of the helmet up when one wears glasses.
I'm wearing the same motorcycle helmet brah and it's half the price of this crappy expensive tsg helmets
@@destinacecilia4422 these helmets are really made for downhill skateboarding where you need a high quality, light weight full face helmet and they work perfect for that.
PLEASE HELP! I have an old No Limit Charlie helmet. very very similar in size and shape. I desperately need a new visor for it. where can I get one?
I was not ready for Jimmy without his hat and glasses
Jimmy Chang is the next Kent Clark. He's superman at his day job.
Not a pretty sight. I’m proof you don’t need good looks or charm to have a CZcams channel! 🤣
Is there a dirt bike version with sun visor ?
what about a chrome helmete with a chrome visor? How will that look?
Great review. New subby here to your channel. 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Got the carbon fiber one :)
is there a name for these kind of helmets? they all have almost identical form which is different from the helmets I have seen before.
For me the TSG Pass Pro was a steal ($235), they predator is hard to get in Europe. Its runs small but got the right fit,58cm and L. Float on! - o -
