    To still see this through the streets of London is wonderful. All the turmoil of this world tradition always shines through. I’m so proud to be British and they still protect our Queen every day. Brilliant. !

    I was impressed that the horse leading was in step with the drum beat.

    Very interesting and entertaining, the music, the marching, there is nothing compares with guards bands , their training ensures they’re the best of the best

    massed bands of the household division are the best, takes me back to 1982 when i did my first troop. a lot of hard work but it was fantastic to be part of it. i was in number 6 guard on the day.

      @@memphis6420 I didn’t realize that a snippet on OSU MP had found its way into a thread on trooping the Colour. Although the two musical organizations, coming at the pinnacle of two worlds, represent the very best of college and military bands.

    Oh, this is just great! Not the proper dress uniforms, a bit ad hoc, one or two interesting closeups, and even at odd moments just a tiny bit ramshackle. But fine, fine music and so perfectly authentic, and no wonder the ad hoc audience for their performance applauded. It's just the absolute real deal, and there's nothing better...

    • @russellgaley3164
      @russellgaley3164 Před 5 lety

      Perhaps the participants were busy preparing and keeping the dress uniforms immaculate for the main parades and D Day celebrations, hence the ad hoc working uniforms for rehearsals.

      Really, I didn’t know that? Interesting.
      I just assumed they were moved into the household division from another army band around the country? And found themselves in London.
      Good though. It’s not really a criticism. I know I’d still be doing it if I were them anyway.

      Coldstreamer19 Not quite, most of the musicians have studied music before joining the army. Some of the musicians have saw active combat, but that is restricted to a very few amount of senior NCOs and some senior officers in the bands.
