It wasn't only Claudia who "killed" Lestat but also Louis. Louis conspired with Claudia to kill him and slit his throat at the end. I think Armand protects Louis in this trial and lets Claudia take the entire rap for the attempted murder.
So peep this , I’ve notice that Louis been feeding off Armand since season 1 .when u drink and ancient vampire or child of milenia vampire.i think Louis is juicing up for a battle with that vampire from Madagascar.also anyone notice that one scene where Louis was having sex with lestat and using telepath with Claudia .he was floating it looked like he had the cloud gift .
I think in season 2 they gonna kill Claudia and Louis gonna drink Armands blood and kill the coven in a three way team against the coven for Claudia death and wipe them out
