Planning this trip in reverse in 2024. On 2 wheels. All suggestions/observations are gratefully received! May have to do more research about the right time of year, conditions and more survival training. Awesome video!
Great job!! Love your presentation. Did this route in my 2005 Toyota Camry back before some of those sections were paved. You did such a nice job with the titles, enjoyed reliving my trip through your beautiful imagery. Great choice of vehicle! And great microcamper setup. I removed the passenger seat from my Camry and made a bed. Did the trip in winter and it was around 15f in Labrador! What a great route. Cheers.
@@williammahaffy4642 We did make the journey. I loved Labrador and Newfoundland and Nova Scotia. BTW I have had pictures of Labrador on my bathroom wall for about 50 years. We live in Washington State. We missed the ferry to Nain by 2 hours and since it only runs once a week, we did not get to go to Nain. I want to sail to Saglek Fjord but, though I am a sailor, I do not have a boat. I actually bought some of the nautical charts and now I look at them every day. How does one let go of one's dreams?
Bonjour ! Un voyage magnifique. Nous aimerions faire ce périple également dès que possible (restrictions covid19...). En quel mois est-il préférable d'y aller ? Le camping sauvage est-il permis ? Combien coûtent les ferries ? Encore une fois Superbe !! :)
My wife and I want to do a loop around through Labrador as you did with a truck camper. What kind of tires do you recommend and do you need a second spare tire? How much dirt road?
I did the loop in my Toyota Camry with all weather Michelin defenders. I got one flat on the unpaved section of the TLH. I plugged it successfully, but had a full size spare also. There are no services for several 200-mile stretches!
Most of the route is now paved. You can do it with one full size spare and good tires that aren't too old. You can see which portion is gravel vs. paved at the bottom of this wikipedia page: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trans-Labrador_Highway

Nous envisageons ce voyage routier pour cette année. Nous partirions de l’État de Washington.
We are considering this road trip for this year. We would be traveling from Washington State.
Did you make the journey?? How was it??

Tell Raph to bring a large-mouth bottle to pee in during the night. Works great. I drink water from the "round" bottle -- not the "square" one!
are there many national parks or lookouts along TLH? are there bears to see as well?
Are there gas stations on the way to cartwright city from this road? and asphalt road continues on route 500?

Back in the day, this was not the best route. haha
I drove this road in late June 2018 it was cold so I was spared the black flies
What temperatures are we taking about? :D
Probably down to about 5C. Did the whole route again in 2019 with my wife, no camping allowed lol
