I have everything that Richard has come out with, he is the best of the best with no disrespect to all the other great sax players.
Richard really has a rich tone quality that is just outstanding.IMHO

I have been learning the Sax for a year and am having trouble with my breathing on the Tenor. I wondered if and when Richard Elliot takes a breathe the way he plays so good and yes he does take a breathe here and there. Now the question is how does he play so long before he does take a breathe ? I guess I have a long way to go to get to 1/4 his level. Keep up the goo work.
It takes a lot of dedication and practice, you will get there if you want it enough. I promise.
I swear when he jumps off the stage the sax comes out his mouth and the sax is still playing? so its not live?
He was playing live the whole time. If anything he might be been taking a breathe as he was jumping off the stage.

I have been playing since I was 12, I'm 39 now, trust me, he is killing it the whole time. I have been watching/listening to Richard Elliot since the late 80's, this dude rocks and is probably one of the next best things to David Sanborn. You cannot fake what has transpired. If you don't feel what he's putting down, you gotta close your eyes and relax and feel what in the hell is going on. :)
There's also a lot of reverb and echo in the mix.... so he might have stopped for a second or two, but the echo/reverb would have sustained the note for that long...
White folks be like... How could you possible sit down and listen to that like you are at the opera?!
