Great Job. I do rebuilds and mods at home and was getting tired of installling engines then having to pull them and so forth. Now Im able to do a full test on the rebuilds before i drop them back in and bolt them up. Thanks for the input so I can get my bench tester built.

I got tired of having to test my go-kart up and down the road in a area that is like the city, with wind in my face that doesn't let me hear how the engine is running. So when my girl friend showed up with the rollers from her broken exercise machine, my mind went to work. I welded up the rollers parallel to each other, with about a 9 inch gap. I place one end under the rear car tire, the other end is for the drive wheel of my go-kart. Instant rolling road for tuning my engine. If I need some load I just take some air out of the car tire. Let me tell you watching my engine at full revs just inches from me is a really cool. I tuned my engine in less than 30 mins. I hope you get some ideas from this, Happy Motoring !!!!!
Sue Carman, I can tell you know your stuff. Not many people talk about air boxes like you do. Some people just don't get it. Air filters and air boxes change the air fuel ratio, mostly more as the revs go up. I test my go-kart engine using rollers placed under a car wheel, the go-kart rear wheel drives the rollers and the car tire is like a fake dyno. If I need some load I just take some air out of the tire.This works really good for tuning with out having to go up and down the street. I hope you get some good ideas from this. Thank you SO MUCH for this video! This is SUCH a help when you get a scooter that's been "stripped" or the wiring is missing, etc... I like making my OWN custom engine wiring harnesses anyways and tthis video breaks the GY6 wiring down to a T! The only thing I'm a LITTLE confused on is the Rectifier and how I would wire that up on a STOCK GY6 with a STOCK rectifier. That way I could run the electrical components! Got a video on what to do with those yellow wires that aren't hooked up?? You'd be the GY6 MASTER THEN!!! Lol

Do you think that taking off the washer between the cones on the drive side of the CVT will effect low-end or harm the belt more quickly? I have been told by several people that taking it off is advised, and i do not see one in the actual manual that i found for the stock bike without restriction.

My Tao Lancer 150 scooter is having an issue. It starts up just fine, every time and takes off as fast as it ever did, but when I try to get it up past 35mph it starts acting like it is choking or hesitating. It seems to want to speed up but has this go and stop feeling like something is wrong. Have no idea how to whittle it down to the actual cause. All hoses, fuel lines and so forth seem to be on good and not loose or cracked. I put some carb cleaner in it and ran it a few miles or more. At first I thought maybe the wind was hitting me and the bike so hard it was holding me back. But that ain't it. It's frustrating trying to find the cause. I have no problem working on it or replacing something, but when you can't find a problem quickly it sucks. Maybe the gas was bad, maybe it's the carb, vacuum, belt drive, who knows. Any suggestions would be appreciated......

looks like you have the european version. that one only goes 45kph due to it being limited through measures like a ring in the variomatic or a limited cdi

not really a fan of the gy6 i own 4 gokarts 2 with the gy6 150cc and 2 with the gy6 125cc they constantly are breaking down, need maintenance. i have gone threw 9 cdi boxes 3 coils and 2 stators in the past 3 years, it seems like i am always having to do some kind of work on them every 4 to 5 months sometimes sooner. not a very well designed and reliable engine in my opinion but idk maybe I'm just riding them too hard. they do get great gas mileage and they do have a decent amount of power and torque when they are running correctly I will give them that.
this is by far the most helpful video ice seen yet and I've been through a ton. wish I could find a video of installing this engine completely.

Where do the two cables from the carb connect to if I do this set up?
Should set up a cooling fan system also, leave the cooling shrouds on but utilize an electric bench fan to provide cooling to the cylinder!!

On the qmb scooter. My brake lever on the left side handle bar which doesn't have the switch for kill or ignition an has spark will thr motor start?

its a tupperware box air filter. its a bench test ......hence the above.
just put a unifilter on carb and upjet 2.
if you run an airfilter sitting on front valve cover you would burn out the rubber intake.its a benxh Test!!!!!

Hit the cylinder head 4 or 5 times as hard as you can.. that'll get you that extra speed you so deserve.

These are great engines. I have xingyue 125cc scooter and I got 75mph out of it that's the max. It will do 60 easy
