- Short clip taken from the This Is Your Life show with Phil Collins in 1988.
In the show Phil gets reunited with his colleagues from Genesis and also gets sent a video from Peter, who was touring with Amnesty International at the time.
Peter has a very sweet and very funny message for Phil. I hope you enjoy it :)

Peter Gabriel is also quoted in saying ‘I can’t even take a piss without hearing Phil Collins’ 😂 great pair.
Yes, they’re awesome 😁
People who think they hated each other are blissfully unaware that Phil played drums on Peter’s 1st album
Not only on PGI, in PGIV too.
@@rpraelsporcupine3112PG III too(No Self Control and Intruder)
And Peter sang backup vocals on Take Me Home
@@rpraelsporcupine3112 Phil didn't play on PG IV
Nice. Many people thought that the two of them hated each other, but the reality was different. Phill collaborated on some of Peter's records and Peter helped Phill on other songs.
You are absolutely right. They are dear friends. A few days ago, Genesis played their last concert ever, and Peter was there, in the audience, giving them support. They’re all still friends.
@@rpraelsporcupine3112 can you please provide a link to this concert? So much appreciate.. . . . in advance.
@@brianbelton3605 Yes, there’s a fan recorded video of the concert here:

Bear in mind that Peter didn’t go on stage, though, he just was in the audience and went to talk to them backstage too. There’s an article and a picture of that moment here:

That's so ridiculous. Of course they didn't. This isn't Gilmour and Waters we're talking about here.
Peter left because his first child was premature and wanted to dedicate to pathernity and because he wanted to do Another musical direction (what he did in his first three solo albums)
It wasn 't because of Phil, actually Phil was the drummer in some of his solo records
I always loved how Peter and Phil had a good relationship as bandmates and friends, A majority of classic rock bands would either have grudges, conflicts or their egos would get in the way. And while they weren't super close, both have great respect from each other. It also still surprises me these two were in a band together.
Very classy of Peter
He’s always classy 🥰
You can tell Phil has a lot of admiration for Peter Gabriel who himself is genuine in his good will
@@ehLeanne311 Absolutely! They are good friends 😊
Two very creative and talented musicians there.
It's great when a bands replacement and the guy he replaced not harbor any I'll will towards each other.God bless you both.
Absolutely. They have always remained good friends 😊
2 GREAT MUSCIANS...I WILL ALWAYS love THEIR MUSIC..😪😪😪🙏🙏🙏🌎🎧🎤🎵🎵🎶🎼🎼🎼🎵🎶🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🥁🥁🥁🥁🎸🎸
Me too!!
That's true love, man...🥰
I heard this musical fact on the radio. There are three (3) musicians that have sold 100 million records as a solo artist, as well as in a band: Michael Jackson (Jackson 5, solo), Paul McCartney (The Beatles, solo), and Phil Collins (Genesis, solo).
Yeap True.
noooooooo they're besties I can't😭😭😭😭😭
Indeed they are! 😊
you can totally hear where Simon Day got his inspiration for Brian Pern. excellent mimicry 😆
I haven’t watched that parody yet. I need to do it!!
This is gold…thanks so much for posting!! I saw Peter at the Forum here in LA a few weeks ago and he’s still amazing!!
I’m glad you liked it! I’m sure the concert was amazing!! I wish I could have seen him in concert too 😍
Whoooooaaaaa! Wait a second, when did Peter Gabriel leave Genesis!!??!!!??? I knew I did too much acid in the 70’s!!
Huh? I don’t understand what you mean…
In autumn of 1974 lmao
You certainly did too much!!
When Genesis started to became a pop-rock band...
0:29 kiss goodbye to that fiver!
🤣🤣🤣
