Awesome. I used to hand cut rocket, spinach etc for 4 hours every morning. This would have saved heaps of time, and more than a few band aids.
Yep pretty much. Now I have to deal with my hurt ego by trying to gaffa tape this harvester to a push bike....
LMAO!
LOL. The Microsoft business plan.
Maybe we should get monsanto to try it?
I would want a extendable handle. It hurts my back just to watch.
Needs a longer handle and a roller or wheels.
Terrible position to be harvesting! Back killer!
Just a suggestion. :-)
Thanks for posting I enjoyed your video. Cheers.
Thank you for the information
What a beautiful and helpful invention for farmers. I am glad to see that you started a youtube channel. I will follow your work.
thanks for the share
cool idea. it is a nice bridge between small and large operations.
Why I know this channel just this year😤I love it
This can be powered by wheels itself, like the early manual lawn mowers. And the handles need extensions so that a standing position can be maintained. Working in standing position is ten times easier than bent one. A light detachable collector will be much handier than lifting and overturning the whole machine.
Exactly, had the same thoughts in mind, lets see if i can design a wheel spin micro harvester.
Build it!
Great Idea. Now add a handle that will allow you to do this standing upright so you don't have to kill your back.
Amy Bergey add one with some wood or PVC seems simple enough

to be tho
on one side there can be an adjustable wheel and a push cart style method. the machine will get only one wheel so you can manuelly adjust based on the ground dementions
about a foot wider rigged up on bike wheels with an adjustable height thing looks awesome
Looks like it could use a harness like some trimming saws have. And possibly a wheel on the far side maybe behind and inside the cutting area
Awesome!!!
I love gardening too, I have small one, where I get veges for the feeding program for kids❤️
the little green gremlin car wash = great invention = ! I love inventors.
This is awesome. I get microgreens from a local farmer. She uses this. But also she had a hand one she used at the Farmer's Market. Cut fast, clean, and no dirt on my greens. I was telling another microgreen farmer about this lady as he does his with a knife and gets much dirt into the greens. So do you have a small one they can use AT the market also? I know she had one I saw her use also. Let me know as I told the one farmer about this device but it wasn't this big one. It was one she had with her at the market. Thanks so much!
What about bruising?
How many harvests do you get from a plant?
I heard from few market gardeners that big leaves cannot be cut from this with a clean cut and may oxidise the stem and make it look black/brown. is this true?
This is really nice...
Put some 4 wheel on the side, extend the drill bit, height adjustment mechanism, and have the bin be removable, would make it even better
love it
RAD!
You've got to figure out a way to hold that to the side instead of leaning over from the top. That's a back-breaker.
It could be made with a regular reel mower, and an attached collection bag. Then simply plant the rows the same width as the wheels on the mower. The reel mower blades could be re-engineered to cut the leaves without damaging them.
What is sad is the price they want for this; and they would charge 2000 for one with wheels? And you still have to provide the drill!! It's always about MONEY!
@@Rattlerjake1This isn’t a charity. They’re selling it to businesses that will use it to significantly lower their own labor costs. If it’s too expensive, they won’t buy it. If they do buy it it’s because they will make more money by using it. But I guess you think the government should give everyone a free one….
@@squirehaggard4749 -- And you're just a dumb@ss. The point I was making is that they take advantage of people because all they are interested in is profit. I'm not a libt@rd like you, I think logically.
Are there any plans for a push behind version? That seems very aggravating to the lower back.
Need to know for a plant harvester like basil
شكرا
Why is the height not adjusted and the basket / cutter supported by wheels?
Does it bruise the leaves?
wow❤
How does it handle sunflower hulls?
Will it work with low bush blueberry harvest.
Saves a lot of time, but the ergonomics are bad for the back. Please consider a model on wheels with adjustable height and perhaps different widths also. I'd be willing to pay quite a bit more to save my back. Thank you for your invention
Do deadlifts
It is very nice intrested
Love it! So nice. Wish one day to wake to such garden. It hurt even with this love in my heart for farming I can't afford even one acre of $1000 of land. Pray with me please.
Can I get this thing anywhere in Europe?
how do you clean the device? I can imagine those ropes will get dirty after a while
Here is an article on how to do that: support.farmersfriendllc.com/kb/article/62-how-do-i-sanitize-my-quick-cut-greens-harvester/
Is it works with stevia leaves?
Its so hard to believe that tools like this are only now being developed..
How can I order it? Is there a link that I ca follow?
this thing needs to be longer and have a couple wheels
Basically a great idea, but an ergonomic nightmare because you have to bend over and hold it. Next version should have wheels and just roll over the standard width row.
Good
👍
I feel the price point for this apparatus is extremely high. Can you kindly justify the almost $700 cost? Thank you!
Even easier...how about something closer to a lawn mower. Adjustable wheels (up and down and left and right). Then an extended handle to push along like a lawn mower. This looks a little awkward having the worker in a bent over position...even though it's an improvement over old methods. If you haven't thought of this change....then play with it...before someone else does.
You need ropes that are not made from nylon or fabrics containing anything else than wool or cotton. Using nylon ropes sprinkles the microgreens with a shower of microplastics and a shower of nanoplastics (one harms cells from the outside, the other harms cells from the inside). Nylon is as much plastics as any other plastic. All plastics consist of carcinogenic chemicals that are released in the body in addition to the mechanical damage the plastic particles cause. The amount of microplastics released this way is extremely small, but that's the thing with microplastics and certain chemicals, they accumulate. Plastic packaging around food is enough to contaminate it considerably, and this device even exposes plastics to friction, which releases a lot more microplastics.

guy in the red shirt reminds me of ron swanson, great looking product!
i must try this on my 2 acre cannabis farm !
Sounds cool! We also offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee, so if you don't like it for any reason, you can send it back within the first year for a refund.

I would have a larger handle so as not to have to bend down. Walking upright would make it easier.
Ingenious.
Hurts my back just looking at this thing. It would be really easy to make this more ergonomically acceptable. And why an electric drill. Having an electric motor with a simple on/off switch would give you far more control. Looks like a prototype instead of a finished product.
Electric drills have variable speed triggers.
Will this work with soil-less aquaponics?
How about the germs? How do you clean it?
Almira Tria germs are alvay problem
can this cutter be used to cut culantro leaves ? ( not cilantro )
😂🤣😂 I thought that was wiping the dust off the plants
That's so great!! :D It's dusting AND harvesting at the same time. :)
looks like its beating up the greens a bit
can you cut basil with this machine?
where can I get this green harvester
Right here! www.farmersfriend.com/products/harvest/quick-cut-greens-harvester
在哪里有卖?
Are all mormons as idiotic as you?
How much does it weigh? Still bending over. Seems like it would damage the leaves too. Why not just use a form of a scythe then suck the up with a large type of shock vac, maybe a backpack version?
The Quick Cut Greens Harvester is actually extremely gentle on the greens. A vacuum would definitely be more rough on the greens. The macrome brush used in the harvester is very soft on the ends, so you shouldn't experience any bruising of the crop. The entire machine is quite light too! Just over 6lbs, or slightly more than a 15" laptop.
@@FarmersFriend How does a lawn mower bag grass? Cut and bag? Think between a scythe and a push reel with banging action . Cut and slide into bag/tray. Wheels raised/adjusted to desired cutting height and width for even straight cuts. IDK just a thought. lol Best wishes. Sell between 40 to 100 depending on quality of function and materials. If your engineers make something like that be sure to send me one plus 2% of sales, lol I need a hamburger with lettuce. lol Name it mean green cutter. Logo greens with teeth in biting action. lol
I don't think many who have actually used a QCGH are asking for a long handle. They understand the control required to use the device and know you couldn't operate one swinging on a 3 foot long pole.
it needs wheels
Hope somebody can be a sponsor for our feeding program hir in the Philippines ♥️
Ranstar999 is right need longer handle and wheels
Hi,
I am from India and looking to buy this machine. Can you help me to proceed further.
Hi sreekanth reddy p, we ship this product worldwide, so you can order from our website here: www.farmersfriend.com/products/harvest/quick-cut-greens-harvester
Hi srikanth Reddy did you buy it
Anyone who's ever cut mescaline by hand?
I noticed that too xD
While this is a cool tool to help cut salad greens, $500+ seems pretty steep for what it is.
Don Mallicoat Perhaps for a hobby gardener but for a small scale commercial operation, it pays for itself in 3 harvests in terms of labor cost saved.
It’s a pain in the back
Thanks for shareing the link to get more info on it at your store but no thanks for a store on the internet to be closed on saturday. I understand sabath and would understand not selling anything but geez......seems we could at least look around at prices ext.
Anthony,
Thank you for your feedback. We will take your comments into consideration. Let us know if there is anything we can assist with in your agricultural endeavors.

what are the ropes made of?
+Tom Kelly The ropes are 100% polypropylene.
why is it $685?
Where I can buy this
You can buy this from farmesrfriend.com
Farmers Friend sorry the link is not opening.. can u ship this machine to India
My apologies, I misspelled it. it's www.farmersfriend.com

360÷40= 9 times
Put that on a modified robot lawnmower and you have an automated harvester
As Don malicoat said, $500+ for what it is, is way overpriced. its a metal frame, an electric bread knife and a spinning mop, this should retail for about $80. better yet just knock one up unself.
respectfully, your name is the junk yard genius. YOU can knock one together, but you don't understand supply/demand economics. Its a little complicated than a weed eater, which is $100 bucks at walmart. BUT how many people need a weed eater vs. how many people need a greens harvester.
I think you actually don't WANT to hack one together, but you only want to pay $80, which means you don't actually need one. Because it's only worth $80 to YOU does not mean it's only worth $500. You don't sell something for the cost in parts + labor, you sell something for what it is worth to your target audience.
Hell my fricken electric razor cost more than $80!!!
shadfurman LOL great attempt to inject some basic economics into this discussion. Also worth noting if JYgenius builds one now, he could be looking at a $100,000 patent infringement case. ;-)
I agree with genius.
It's a pretty simple design, but let's bring some economics into this.
Farmers usually don't have the disposable income to buy such a tool, but they do have a lower opportunity cost and a higher level of mechanical problem solving than the average person. It's pretty natural they would jerry-rig a more *economic* solution.
здравствуйте, можно купить в Казахстане?
Dosnt make sense that they haven’t made longer handles and added wheels, they aren’t reading any suggestions at all
now you just need to learn to use it lol
so all your videos are ads?
Nope.
