The Boeing 737-8AS, registration EI-DYG, took off from Frankfurt-Hahn airport at 06:30 and after a smooth journey was finishing the approach to Rome-Ciampino airport when it impacted a flock of around 90 starlings reporting damage to the engines, left wing and associated landing gear; Despite this, the pilots, Commander Frederick Colson and First Officer Alexander Vet, managed to land the aircraft without serious problems, even if during the braking phase the plane went off the runway slightly, but returned immediately. The passengers were evacuated from the emergency slides and the black boxes were immediately removed by investigators from the National Flight Safety Agency (ANSV). The airport was closed for 35 hours and all traffic diverted to Rome-Fiumicino airport, as the Boeing 737 remained stuck on the runway due to the failure of the left landing gear, probably caused by a burst tire.[2]

How often do emergencies happen?
Random, I think 1 in 10 - 20 flights will have them.
@@orangetimeexpress1221 (I think) so far I’ve had none at all but I have flown like 10 times
@@Paper246 it's completely random, sometimes I have none in 50 flights, sometimes 2 in a row.

Was the alaska 737 really necessary my guy?
Absolutely. Don't let them live it down till they start addressing safety concerns on their aircraft.
