- Following the end of the First Neo Zeon War in UC 0089, the Earth Federation Forces created the Londo Bell unit, which was tasked with hunting down Zeon and Titans remnants while avoiding the mistakes of the Titans. The EFF initially imposed restrictions on the use of Gundam-type suits, and it was determined that the mass production RGM-86R GM III was insufficient to match the skills of Newtype ace pilot Amuro Ray. In response, a Karaba MSK-008 Dijeh unit was upgraded by Londo Bell’s mechanics into the MSK-008R Rick Dijeh. Londo Bell’s mechanics modified the binders and thrusters from the RMS-099 Rick Dias for use by the Dijeh, which was originally a ground combat unit. The original’s head-mounted cockpit was modified, with the head raising and sliding back to allow access to the cockpit block. The Rick Dijeh retained the original version’s armaments, which include vulcan guns, a beam naginata, a beam rifle and a clay bazooka.

The way they made the art style and animation consistent with CCA makes having Amuro dueling against Char with the rick dijeh look believable as an older side story or unseen cutscene

Actually it is because the top brasses in the Federation fear Amuro. So they refuse to give him a Gundam until Char's Counterattack started.
At this point is when Char realized this was too easy. He wants to beat Amuro on equal terms. He gives Amuro the psycho frame in hopes that he creates a mobile suit that matches the Sazabi.
Well....he, indeed, in fact, gave Amuro a fighting chance, but due to Axis is now falling towards the Earth so fast that the Nu Gundam was not complete and didn't have time to be tested. Amuro was lucky enough that Char was too damn focused on what ways to blame Amuro for everything he had done even tho it his own action what cause from the very beginning.
it was when Amuro was pilot the water down version of the zeta gundam, that char left a suit that had psycho frame. Though if we go with a different version Char had a loyal pilot bring a suit with frame and ditch it near feddie forces so Amuro will get his hands on it.

Dijeh was almost commissioned by Axis to replace Gelgoog and called, MS-110 “Chaika.” Supposed to mass production for Axis, but, design changed and ended up piloted by Amuro. Kazumi Fujita, who designed Dijeh, later told in interview that he was never informed in advance that Amuro would pilot the MS. If he knew Kazumi Fujita would designed Dijeh differently.

@@ilhamshobri461 RMS-117 Galbaldy βBeta was developed by Earth Federation/Titans based on MS-17 Galbaldy αAlpha. Alpha was designed to combine YMS-15 Gyan and MS-14A Gelgoog. Although overall specifications were outdated compared RMS-106 Hi-Zack, its close quarter combat prowess were valued. Meanwhile, Dijeh was designed based on Rick Dias which originated from MS-09C Dowas. Both Dowas and Galbaldy were developed under Pezun project. They share same development history. Except one design went to Titans and another design went to Karaba.

That why during the 1st neo Zeon war there were rick Diaz fighting for haman. This is based on zeta gundam and ZZ gundam if you watched the original Japanese series

I wrote “almost commissioned by Axis to replacement for Gelgoog.” My source was based on, “Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam: Day After Tomorrow - From Kai Shiden's Report.” When Amuro returned to piloting Rick Diaz after 7 years exile, Hayato Kobayashi wanted to promote return of legendary new type pilot and wanted to use him as propaganda with “Gundam.” Therefore, Hayato ordered Anaheim Electronics that exterior design to be changed into, “Gundam.” Kai objected to Gundam design, stating that it would upset former Zeon factions with A.E.U.G., and changed to mono-eye instead. It was almost finished into Gundam and last minute change caused twin eye socket to remain in place behind mono-eye.
That is why Kazumi Fujita designed Dijeh with background story that Axis developed Dijeh for Haman’s personal mobile suit. Unfortunately, the producers of Mobile Suit: Z Gundam changed to script, and made it Amuro’s mobile suit instead. This greatly upset the fans who synonymous view Amuro with Gundam. Therefore, in manga (not animation serial or the movie), “Mobile Suit: Z Gundam,” mechanical designer Kazuhisa Kondo followed Fujita’s design and introduced Axis’ mass production type, MS-110 Chaika (replacing Gaza-C) and also piloted by Haman Karn. The manga’s backstory is why I wrote almost commissioned by Axis replacement for Gelgoog’s.

Amuro is the better pilot.
Rick Dijeh is top tier mobile suit and actually perform better than the majority Neo Zeon Grunts mobile suit excluding more premium Grunts like Qubeley MP and Doven Wolf. the notable thing from Dijeh is the cooling system with fin. its allow Dijeh to sustain high performance boost mode for longer time without any overheating issue
Its not shown here, but Amuro said he thinks Salamis and White Base class ships are better than the newest Clop class ships.

The engineer Amuro was speaking to was very surprised, and thought Amuro was joking. Amuro wasn't. The engineer said they don't build special ships like the Pegasus class anymore.
The Clop met the barest minimum standards for a ship of its time, so he's likely right. Although, the class would go on to fight in wars many decades later, so they're at least pretty reliable.
I like the Clop's radiators personally.
I love the Clop, but the Pegasus-class was definitely better. The Pegasus was also very over engineered and expensive to make.
The sally is one of my favorite ships, including the kai and 83. Too bad they are one of the most lost ships in gundam
It's basically like WW2 ship actually better in ship to ship combat compared modern warship that too much relying on missiles

This actually sets up the Sazabi and the power of its funnels really well. I could totally see this being in a ZZ episode or something to set up CCA
I like that the animation style is a mix between its original CCA and a bits of Zeta A New Translation.
I love the fact that Mobile Suit Gundam featureyd mono eye mobile suits piloted by Amuro, means he isn't just a Gundam pilot and rely on Gundam.

its bit odd watching GM II with Rick Dijeh, but after looking if its the early stage of Londo Bell, they might be Mobile Suit that piloted by Cadets and Amuro was training them before they got their Jegan or Modernized GM III
And the Federation probably didn't want to have another elite group running amok like the Titans, so for the time being they supplied Londo Bell with outdated machines.

In Moon Gundam, Amuro's unit was running modified GM IIIs and the Jeda, basically a prototype Jegan.

This is just proved that Amuro is a beast and that with a Gundam he absolutely would have been able to take on Char and win. This, but because he was so powerful he terrified to the earth's forces.
Amuro also seems to know char inside and out in combat, Char is pretty amateur with his funnels, which is even shown here as he only deploys them for intimidation purposes when he grappled the Rick Dijeh, as he holds by his usual combat style a lot more, making him a lot more predictable.
@ORLY911 Regardless of that, Char is still an expert in combat and not easily Beaten. Amuro is still an undeniable "Super Ace." Plus, the funnels probably weren't actually meant to hit him anyway. Remember, he wants a duel at Axis With Amuro in a Gundam, which we see Amuro use against him.
Not really, Nu Gundam, an extremely expensive machine, was already slated to be his ride and Londo Bell got the 1st batch of New generation Fed warships
@huntermad5668 No, that was developed in secret for the most part.The federation did not want him to have a gundam. The earth forces actually feared londo bell to an extent. Considering they were comprised of mostly former AEUG forces. Is on top of that.They were fully independent from the federation.
@@GundamKTypeI want to add something to what you said: the Federation may have put Amuro and Bright in Londo Bell to make sure they were observed and kept in check. And they were being underfunded on purpose because they were not really fully trusted by the EFF.

Amuro needed a brand new suit with Nu Gundam.
Wasn't it also because the federation government had their heads in their assholes, and refused to give Amuro any of the Gundam Team's mobile suits, least of all the Zeta due to its bio-sensor?
Honestly it's amazing he even managed to fight as well as he did with just the Re-GZ,
considering it didn't have as high performance as the Zeta.
Pretty sure these(dijeh and RGZ) were just a stand in because his personalized gundam unit(Nu gundam) was still under production, heck it was lacking one more crucial part by the finale battle and it had to be delivered on the spot. Also Amuro at some point between zz and CCA and even during moon gundam he was piloting a dije and at some point he was given a zeta, so I think it just made sense he was piloting what he was familiar with rather than a more advanced jegan or a ZZ.
Not really, because the Zeta Gundam was deem too dangerous for the Earth Federation to give Amuro since those ashoes were still scared of newtype abilities, and Amuro was still being kept under watched due to being a newtype with not giving him a Gundam for a long time, However, Amuro manages to secretly build the Nu Gundam with the help of AE without the earth federation knowledge, or they would have already taken the Nu Gundam a long time ago.
Forgot where I heard this, but the Rick Dijeh was truly too advanced of a mobile during its time, because it was created in 0088, and its performances were on par, or slightly better with the jegan, which were mass produced in 0092, so the Rick Dijeh was one hell of a five years old mobile suit that kicked ass in 0093 until the Sazabi slapped the Rick Dijeh in the face.
P.S. The dates where the suits were made in wiki makes no sense when I tried to make the connection with the Jegan being created, because The Jeda was created in 0088, but was refined into the Jegan in 0092, yet the Jegan was created in 0089, and were allowed to be mass produced in 0092 which confused the shit out of me since there were only less than a hundred Jegan deployed in 0093, because it's stated that it was still a early stage of deployment of the Jegan, so the issue I was having is how old the Rick Dijeh was, and that it was on par, or slightly better then the Jegan which were made in 0092(ish), or 0093.
Amuro was actually given Re-GZID which was equal or surpassed zeta, but he gave it to theta plus pilot.
It's not a bad machine by no means but it's simply outclassed
also both the Rick Dijeh and the Sazabi had their cockpits placed in the head unit of the MS.
In Moon Gundam, Rick Dijeh’s cockpit is placed in abdomen instead of head unit of the MS. The Sazabi prototype also had cockpit placed in abdomen as well due to temporary placing Geara Doga’s cockpit core diverted into two-seater type, which had to be installed in the abdomen.
UC Engage Moment on this one, these animations stayed so true to the art, probably why I have the game to begin with. ;-;
BTW I'm quite impressed that an Gryps War mobile suit managed to hold all on its own against a psyhco frame MSN-04 mobile suit

I’m confused. Amuro with ‘orange Rick Dijeh’ (original version) already met Char piloting what i assume is a final version of Sazabi. This moment should have happened before Moon Gundam exist, because Amuro with ‘orange Rick Dijeh’ is the one who Destroys G-Doors that make for Moon Gundam’s head. Later after Moon Gundam has been assembled, it meets ‘black Rick Dijeh’ (custom version), but (I don’t know which one first) it also meets Char with proto Sazabi wich should indicate that Sazabi hasn’t completed yet. So in summary early Rick Dijeh meets Final version of Sazabi doesn’t synchronize with Moon Gundam met with Later version of Rick Dijeh but it also met with early version of Sazabi. Were there exists 2 versions of Sazabi at the same time, One prototype and one Final version that Char use?? Or it just added animation??
Think of it as this. MSN-04X Sazabi Prototype is for Gundam High-Streamer. While MSN-04X2 Sazabi Prototype (Terrain Mode to compensate earth’s gravity) is for Moon Gundam.

@@Fulcrox It was piloted by Capt. Kleiman Abarth, ace pilot from Karaba. SR was minor difference in equipment and considered no major upgrade.
