    I was always told that the safety chains on a trailer are suppose to Chriscross. That way if the trailer came disconnected to the hitch the chain could cradle the tongue and hopefully save it.

    • @ChrisHessert
      @ChrisHessert Před rokem +12

      Agreed. And my understanding is that the chains should be tight enough to prevent the trailer tongue from dropping to the pavement if the trailer comes loose (off the ball). You can twist the chains to take up any slack.

    If you don't want to spend $260 every 5-6 yeas on new tires (especially when they are hardly used). Get a bottle of Armor All and whenever you park your trailer for any extended period of time, put down trash bags on the ground and roll the trailer onto them so they are under the tread so the bags can be pulled up around the tires. But before pulling the bags over the tires, saturate the tire with the armor all. The tires will not rot and literally last for decades

    • @AllyMcFancysp1xn
      @AllyMcFancysp1xn Před měsícem +1

      I've been told by every RV mechanic I've ever used (who doesn't sell tires!) that you should replace the tires every 3 years, no matter what. And, ESPECIALLY if the RV has been sitting unused. I'm so glad they decided to replace those tires. So, maybe if you're flush enough to afford new tires on a regular basis, it's something to think about.

    • @supafrancis
      @supafrancis Před měsícem

      @@AllyMcFancysp1xn There used to be a video here on youtube before they took down all the video's that they consider conspiratorial and it was of a guy with a crown vic that he had bought new that had 120kk miles n it and still had it's original factory tires on it with like new tread. He would drench his tires in armor all every two months and his tires literally did not wear. I have two cars that I store and drive only to shows and special occasions. I used to have to replace tires every 4 -5 years even though they had like new tread.. since doing this trick, I haven't changed a tire on either car in 10 years and their rubber looks and feels as fresh as the day they came off the assembly line. it has also saved all the tires on my boat, snowmobile and utility trailers. It works

    Its a wonderful little trailer, I would've put a deep cycle battery in instead of the car battery, you can draw down the deep cycle very low without damaging it. Also a 2nd battery was a great idea, just need to follow through with it. The bronco might be factory wired for brake controller, if so a factory pigtail will plug right into an aftermarket controller.

    We have had a 2015 F150 with the 1st gen 2.7 twin turbo and I agree that it is a very powerful motor for it's size but keep in mind that power creates heat. At just over 100k miles a $70 heat sensor in one of the heads fails and initiates the limp in mode. Limped into a dealer and when the mechanic tried to remove the sensor it broke and one thing lead to another requiring the replacement of the head and $7,000 later it is just like new! We are guessing that the camping trip to Vegas complete with dragging our 24 foot camper up and over several mountain passes resulted in producing more heat than the cooling system could safely dissipate even though the temperature gauges never indicated a problem. Give her a rest.

    I absolutely love what you did with the small camper. Getting right in and finding the easy fixes to what Aaron thought were going to be major rewiring of the dome lights, And thinking ahead about if more went bad so getting a couple of spares
    Then solving all the 3-way power systems for the fridge, stove, water heater, and bathroom looked so much easier than you thought.
    When Emily complained about the lack of storage to her grandfather and he said great, it turned 180 degrees and became humorous. I thought he was going to say he could build new interior cabinets for you, when instead he said grandma always packs way too much.
    It was a great episode packed with camping tips and knowledge on how it should be done. Making unique checklists for each of your campers might help ensure nothing is left out.
    GREAT EPISODE. And I like the longer format too.

    Great Episode- The camper is a good "modern way" to travel and go to work events. Props for Aaron and his cooking skills - If I may - another you tuber that I follow has some videos out and is sponsored by EcoFlow (no I don't work for them). They have a brand of solar products as well as battery operated products- one of the things they have is a portable Refrigerator (the Glacier) that actually makes ice cubes. The Bronco- 6 cylinder dual turbo - rated for 3500 pounds towing. If you are worried about weight distribution - I suggest taking the Bronco and the camper to a truck stop and weighing it there- you will have to pay but you can get the total weight of the Bronco and the camper (I'd also have it loaded like you were going on a trip because that would give you a true weight picture). Also - gas/fuel mileage - what was your fuel consumption pulling the trailer?

    Looks like a great little camper for the two of y'all and the kid when she comes with. Looks good hooked to Fiona. I'm glad Aaron brought up the grossly overlooked tire issue way too many trailers have. I'm one of those people who replace trailer tires every 5 years whether it needs it or not. I call keeping fresh tires "cheap insurance". Got too much money sitting on them to be neglecting them.

    I feel for you Aaron because my ex had no concept of time either.

    Your dinner looked like somebody already ate it once and gave it back. LOL. Don't hit me with a frying pan like my wife does when I say that to her. You two have a glow about yourselves. I'm real happy for you. Great video. : )

    Aaron, you should ALWAYS cross those safety chains so if the trailer falls off the hitch they will catch it and hopefully prevent the trailer from hitting the ground.

    transmission temp is important ,if it gets too hot ,it will destroy your clutches.a trailer that size shouldn't cause problems,but stay aware of transmission temperature

    That little RPod is perfect for the Bronco. Looks really cool and like it was made for it. I sure would fix that gem up to perfection to use for pleasure. Especially since it comes with a personal chef. ❤

    I would add a sway control for peace of mind, during high winds and trucks passing.
    If you fold your door rail/ handle forward, it is another level of safeguard, your camper door will not open while traveling.

    I used to pull them out of Elkhart, Indiana. I'm glad you guys have that to enjoy. Take care and stay safe. God bless and protect you always 🙏
