    I did my PhD in Australia with scholarship and stipend. Got treated as a second class person in the system. I wouldn’t do it again. On top, I had a 2 week gap between class finished and graduation certificate, which led to leaving the country and then apply again from outside. What a shitshow 😅 can’t recommend

    Thank you for this informative video. I have a question regarding the study visa application. If I got accepted for PhD with full schoarship, do I still need to prove that I have money in my account? I heard that its a must but I don't understand the point of a full scholarship if I still have to prepare financial Proof.

    Do extracurriculars play a pivotal role in getting a scholarship? I'm really worried cause my school doesn't really provide such activities so I've only got grades going for me

    • @livingsimplyaustralia
      @livingsimplyaustralia  Před rokem +2

      I'm not sure where you are from, but you may be able to undertake extracurricular activities outside your school - e.g. volunteering programs (whether it is in your hometown or overseas), or a sports club, etc. You may be able to get in with good grades only, but these activities do add a lot of value to a scholarship application :)

      As I understand, the main thing is to show that you are not wasting your time or, in other words, that you use the most of your time beneficially. You don't just study and then play video games the rest of a day, for example, you do something else, sports, volunteering, part-time work, poetry, clubs, research, etc.

      My preference is QUT since it seems to be more practical than just theory-based. I'm planning to do my masters there eventually. I would suggest browsing their websites to get a sense of what they offer. They probably have a live camera where you can see the campuses as well. My preferred university is located a little outside of the city/metropolitan area. Melbourne is a bit too crowded for me😅

    • @livingsimplyaustralia
      @livingsimplyaustralia  Před 2 lety +3

      That sounds like a great cv! It's hard to know what your chances are, as there are so many variables at play (and people from all over the world applying), but you'd be surprised (I notice many people give up on applying for scholarships because they assume they won't get it or it's too competitive, and ironically this leaves too many scholarships not being used!). While preparing your application takes a bit of time and effort, applying for a scholarship is free, so I'd suggest preparing a nice application and giving it a go :) (you don't lose anything!)

    • @livingsimplyaustralia
      @livingsimplyaustralia  Před rokem

      Hi! First of all congrats! I highly recommend checking my video on how to find a course in Australia czcams.com/video/v1s4ab38PZI/video.html - here you can find Australian universities and courses according to your specific requirements/circumstances/state you are interested in. Once you've chosen your preferred institutions and course, you should contact them directly and ask them about the enrolment and scholarship application process. Another option is to first look for scholarships (using the resources I give you in this vid) and see which institutions are offering these, and then contact them directly if you have any questions about the application process. Another option is to contact an education consultant :)
