My first semester of college, my history professor told our class that he was one of Al Capone's lawyers. He looked like it was possibly true. I don't think anyone in that class ever questioned it. He did tell one of the stories you mentioned in this vlog. Jordan, you always do such an excellent job of telling the story. Thank you.

Why would your class ask it. Everyone deserves a defense. That's what differentiates a democracy from a dictatorship. Simple as that. And we should never mess with these values. Greetings from Germany.

Today at 54yrs old I’m binge watching it over and over again on u tube. I’m aware of Americas most wanted but it’s Unsolved Mysteries that I love. My grandparents are buried at Mount Carmel very near the Capone plot.
That cemetery and the one across the street, Queen of Heaven are both loaded with the graves of Prohibition era mobsters, all heavily Italian and Catholic. Many from opposing gangs, many of the ones not having died of natural causes, having knocked off and been knocked off by one another. Prompting one Chicago scribe of the time to say something like, when judgement day comes and all the souls buried there come to the surface, there's gonna be one heck of a battle around those graves.

Hi Jordan! Great video - fascinating facts on him. There is a theater in a town by me that he would come through and steal from. As a deterrent, the theater would run their money in a tunnel that ran under the seats to the back of the theater, to save it from him and his underlings. Have a great day, my friend. Blessings - Judith 🎵🎭

Great vlog Jordan ! It's really not surprising that his wife stuck by him when you consider the time. Women were still under the standard gender roles which kept them largely dependant their husbands and the marriage for finacial support. Most religions believe that marriage is for life and divorce is an abomination thus it was at the time a major socital no no as well. Capone was said to have surprisingly been raised to be a strict Catholic, so his wife likely was too. Catholics are even now very anti divorce and the church does not recognize it . Women of the time were taught to just turn a blind eye to their husbands worst behavior and do their best with what they had . Capone's wife likely didn't think of divorce even being a option.

Real interesting. I was there before they, Fixed it up and kind of changed it a little bit and they made a Restaurant out of the 8 car garage. Another great video! Thank you so much for for all the great information that you share! I’m from Canada, and in southern Saskatchewan (where my family is from), especially Moose Jaw as Al visited there (there’s even a lawsuit on file from the city of Regina against Al), there still a lot of talk about Al Capone. Saskatchewan was where Al got the alcohol he trafficked. My boss even says his grandpa was Al’s driver when he was this side of the border. They left 60 kegs of rye hidden in a sand dune and they never found it again. Lol. Just a side note….it’s lovely to think that Al’s wife loved him all his life despite his carousing and such…..but she got pregnant young and was forced to marry whether it would be a mistake or not, and in those days you simply couldn’t leave. She probably was stuck in a nightmare she could not escape from, but she handled it with class.
