I’ve met Shin Lim in person during a trip to Vegas. He is absolutely amazing. Also, he is very kind and friendly. I have his signature playing cards and most of his tricks.

I love watching magic acts like this. No, no, not because of how 'magical' they seem but I just love how the way they perform these acts. They make me curious, question what they gonna do, and then its just make me amazed by their performance. Tricks are fun, but they are something else if the performers (magicians) can perform this well!
These are not tricks, Ghost. All these best of the best Magicians are performing "Real Magic" because they've all made a pact to get to where they are. Their power is not of this Earth. This kind of success is not free and involves selling your soul.

Every act is amazing! I love this compilation. I have to say though that I'm most impressed with the Shin Lim because his acts are more up-close and whatever he did, even if I freeze-frame, I never caught any of his tricks. 👏👏👏

Everybody talking about the Asian guy and I’m tryna figure out how the hell heidi was floating
She had this back support thing on and next to the audience members left arm was a bar that attached to the back support on Heidi, basically saying her and Howie was in on it. Thats why the Audience member wasn't asked to completely let go of Heidi while Howie wasn't also holding her up and when Darcy waved under her back he had unattached the bar from the back support while bringing the audience members arm down with it to hide it. Sorry if it's confusing but I hope you understand it :)

@@redactedredacted7414 Well i wasent talking about the props. Most of the stuff is indeed sold. I was talking about general presentation skills and sleight of hand. I am not sayings it is hard. I have seen hard tricks on Penn and Teller that are pure genious. Even Shin Lim managed to fool them because he is just so good at sleight of hand.

There is a logic in that act... While playing tictoc he should have given the first chance to howie mandal it would be more interesting..
I actually think he was the least impressive of them. The force he did with that box is something you can google and other magicitians have used it (check for instance Matt Edwards). The game of tic tac toe was also no randomness in after the two first moves. Any mindreading trick has an more impressive force. So to be honest, the reaction he got on that trick convinces me that in order to judge magic there must be one magician as a judge. Otherwise the least impressive tricks can get the most appraisal.
He would never be able to come to Fool us (with expert magicians Penn & Teller as judges).

You need to watch "Now you see me". These tricks are good, but they're still tricks. There's only one person I've ever seen on these shows that I really believe was using magic. I'm still convinced he sold his soul to Satan, and I hope I never see him again.

After seeing the first magic act. I just realized that literally every magic act that i've seen in AGT is pretty much similar. They ask the judges to pick stuff, they guess the stuff, they then show a past video clip of them guessing the stuff.

Yea the picking stuff isn't impressive - its just forced choices. The real slight of hand stuff like Shin Lim's act is more fun to watch, although the video editor didn't do as good a job here because they didn't edit out some of the more telling frames. For example it was super clear how Shin didn't put the card into the plastic sleeve the second time around, or tipped the cards out of the box as he was wiping the table in the end.
Ho now you got it wrong. Choice are 100% fair from judge perspective. They don't know about magical blackboard that has wifi and draw in less than 6 sec..

John’s trick is actually extremely easy, i saw it and was like oh wow, it’s so simple how he did that trick, there really couldn’t of been any other outcome.. but he made it seem so complicated perfectly and did a great job making it into a really good performance, that most people won’t notice how it’s done and how simple it is, and are simply amazed by it. He pulled it off perfectly for that.
I agree… and yet Simon would have given Dorenbos a Golden Buzzer if he could have. Simon is too easily impressed with magic tricks.
I think that Colin Cloud’s forces are pretty obvious, too. He uses plants in the audience, that’s for sure.
The gimmicked blackboard is getting a lot of use these days. Dorenbos and Lizzie Simpson both use one.
