Most people's internet runs through a router/firewall. Unless they're not using either you won't just be able to ask them for their IP address since they'll be getting an IP from their router which is inside the network behind the firewall. It would take some configuration and knowledge to connect to someone else outside your own network.
yes thats correct that’s where this app takes away the need for configuration and ip addresses.

nevermind, its terrible, even makes the tv lag!!! highest settings and pro version! boooooooo!!
The app is really designed to for really setting up a firestick or helping a friend out when in trouble, I don't think there is much you can do about the lag! I still love the app as it makes it easier to type things in like usernames and passwords as I can do that on the PC Keyboard, also saves me a long car journey to help out friends and reliatives!

How to copy&paste any text from PC into vysor-screen? Could be very helpful to fill in cliet-ID fields... i.e.
I know some apps can do this like scrcpy but that is tricky to setup remotely.

Does it really work with different network?
I was able to connect to the firestick that was connected to my the same network but when i try to connect to my friend's firestick which lives 1 hour from me, it doenst work...

It should work, I tried it a few months back to help a friend and it worked.
thanks for creating the video I was able to connect locally 1 time then no more i tried restarting both my computer and the firestick and trying again did not work i check ip address (in case it changed but it didn't But it never connected again! unistalled vysor and reinstalled and STILL wont connect just FYI
Would this work if I accessed the firstick owner's computer via an application like anydesk, and download vysor on their system? Would vysor work whilst remotely accessing ones desktop?
I am not sure, some apps wont let you remote control in a remote control window, perhaps give it a try and report back.
Yes I set up other people fire stick or other android besides from my pc

As far as I know this should work from anywhere, can you tell me where you heard this info?

Try a restart of your stick!
I am unable to copy from my Windows and paste into the firestick when controlling the firestick. Unsure if this is just me, or if it is just the way it is...a limitation. My passwords are kind of long. It would be great to paste them in.
I don't think its possible in this app! I am sure you can do this in Flakies ADB Gui.
My Fire tv no longer has "my fire tv" box in the settings. Is this part of Amazon's disabling of ADB use?
So when a friend paste the link will I be able to control their device. I am usually the one they call for help.

This is actually the one and only problem with this app... :( Everything else is perfect, but this app need to be able to install by it self only on the firestick to be amazing... :) Hope some update soon!! @@cwtek1
It works great within the network on my Firestick or Android TV, but NOT outside it, even when I use the share link pasted in Vysor. If I try from a different network, it refuses to connect. Any guidance? Trying to do this for my elderly parents. Your help is appreciated. Thanks for your videos. Many have been of great help.
If your parents have a PC or Laptop then you could install Chrome Remote Desktop, then install Vysor on it, and perhaps do a remote session using Chrome Remote Desktop to their laptop on Launch Vysor on their laptop and remotely control it from there!
Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, they don't use computers at all. I used my own laptop at their residence to set everything up and it all worked great. Except when I try to connect from my house it doesn't work anymore. Tested it a couple times, same result :( @@cwtek1
My parents do not use a Laptop or PC. I configured everything on my PC when I was there (and it worked while in the same network), but when I try remotely it doesn't connect... @@cwtek1
This isn't working for me. I've installed the drivers and the VYSOR application on my Windows 10 PC. On my firestick, debugging and Apps from unknown sources are on. From my Windows PC, I can view the firestick in the VYSOR application, and select apps, search, free, home, live and my stuff. I cannot get to settings or my profile. I can use the firestick remote to click on the profile or setting icon. After that, I can use VYSOR to navigate the firestick.

Unfortunately I don’t think you will be able to get audio on a remote connection at the moment.
Is there any way to access a friend's firestick without them having to use vysor on thier pc. Like can I access the firestick by itself. I used vysor which worked fine but if they turn thier computer off or close vysor I can not access thier stick. Thank you in advance
You can use Flakies and Scrcpy but Only if you know how to port forward on their router and if they have a static ip address or they can tell you their public ip address.
Does it only work if its connected to same wifi router? Im trying to connect to a friends Firestick and doesn't let me connect
It once worked anywhere, but now it seems to be only for local connections, you can get around this if your friend has a computer, just install vysor on their computer then do a remote session from your computer to theirs with something like Chrome Remote Desktop and you can remotely control their firestick.

You should ensue adb debugging is switched on also try restarting your firestick.

Please try restarting your firestick by holding down the play/pause and button in the middle of the circle until you get the message your firestick is restarting, then try again. Also make sure ADB Debugging is switched on.
@@cwtek1 I have but still don’t connect. But is this a remote connection software? As it’s not at my home plugged into my pc. I have there ip from there stick but always comes up with the same error even after reboot
