- Today we are taking a trip to Samal Island in Davao Philippines and checking out a world record breaking bat cave that is on the island! We eat some delicious Davao restaurant food and take a ferry over to the beautiful Samal Island Philippines! Another epic adventure in Mindanao!
We start today's video eating at a place we tried in Pagadian City, Out Of Nowhere. They have really tasty food and massive portions.
We then went down to the ferry port where we border a ferry and sailed across the small channel to Samal Island.
We then avoided numerous tuktuk drivers trying to scam us until we finally negotiated down to a still overpriced but more reasonable price to the Monfort Bat Sanctuary on Samal Island Philippines.
We then spent a while exploring the bat caves and taking in all the sights and smells it had to offer. We also had an encounter with the real life DRACULA!!
After that we head back to Davao, ate at the only restaurant that was still open, Pancake House, and devoured some sweet delicious food!

Shame. It puts the Philippines in a bad light. People are trying to make a buck (understandable). Wish these things are more regulated. I guess this is not only happening in the Philippines but anywhere in any country. 😏 I just hope people travelling will understand somehow 😏
Actually even locals I mean not from Samal like just from Davao they always charge a hefty fee for fare.. So hopefully the bridge get done soon so travel to the island will lbe cheaper.
It's sad that there are people who don't want to do honest work. The "tuktuk" or tricycle scam does not exclusively happen to foreigners, they do it to us Filipinos too.
I feel ashamed for the drivers there. The local government seems to not do anything about those opportunistic leeches. I hope they get dealt with soon. It's better if you rent a scooter there bro, there are places that you can haggle to rent out scooters for a small amount

Karamihan pa sa mga yan kolorum dpat jan may taripa . Nagtataka pa mga yan bakit umoonti turista nila kaya nag aagawan sila sa pasahero o nanlalamang di nila alam dahil din sa ginagawa nila yun 🤦🏼♂️

This is why in the Philippines, if you don't know the local dialect, just rent a scooter or bring a foldable bike, then always look at google maps for distance.
Talk to the sari-sari store lady or security guard first and just give them some tip, before going to the tricycle drivers so that you can haggle, it will save you more.
Best to befriend a local while still on the ferry to get an idea on the cost and where to go.

those bat are very healthy because if there's bat virus or any disease of sort combine with the fact that they are densely crowded/ packed together that disease would easily decimate the entire population of bats in that cave.
