    This is in my opinion one of your best videos so far. You have many entertaining and funny videos and some cool silly ideas, but here we have useful content where you teach important ideas for projecting and it's easier to get a fill in a video for how a boulder feels when you dedicate this much screen time to each hold :)

      Thank you 🙏 I’m so happy you liked it! I was a little apprehensive doing a more tutorial/tips video so I’m really happy people are enjoying it!

    You definitely couldn't fight a hundred seagulls. Six hundred talons would make short work of your eyes and skin.

      As a man who has been attacked by seagulls daily for the past 15 summers (nests on the roofs in my neighborhood), it's mainly faeces and beaks that you need to worry about. It's rather demoralising to have them divebomb you with their excrement whilst screeching and after that as a chef's kiss they attempt to peck at your head. Good thing that I found that they prioritize attacking dogs, so I make sure I have a distraction with me at all times.

    Hey man, just got into bouldering and decided to check out this vid because I have this v4 I'm struggling with. Just wanted to say that your editing style and the way you layout your video is super clear and easily digestible. I can see you put effort into your vids and you def will become a big channel if you stay consistent. Good luck brother, hope your doing well!

    Hey Josh, not sure you can buy seagulls? You'd have to coax them into the room with fish and chips. If you spiked the fish and chips with sleeping pills, you might have a chance. But otherwise they'd mash you! Seagulls are brutal, they'll go for the low blows for sure - stike you where it hurts.

    I think I might not be projecting hard enough. I usually project boulders in which one or two moves feel really hard, but never as hard that I have to practice every move separately.

    • @JoshRundle
      @JoshRundle  Před 2 lety +2

      There are always different levels to projecting, you might have short term projects where a few moves are hard but you might send it in a session or 2 and then long term projects where it takes sessions to do one move and small links. Neither is wrong it just depends what you are looking for 😃

    Had you been cagey (pun intended), you would have said you'd fight a flock of seagulls. Those guys have to be positively ancient by now. I'm sure you can take them!

  • @user-jr8ee1dc6t
    @user-jr8ee1dc6t Před 2 lety +1

    Great video, thanks for the content man! Here's a question for you : How do you usually copy with boulders you struggle with? Personally if I fail a move 5-6 times I feel like I'm unable to do it and I kind of mentally block my self. A lot of times when you finally manager to make that move it doesn't even feel that hard. So how do you usually deal with this mental stuff?

    • @larsdalaker3519
      @larsdalaker3519 Před 2 lety +2

      This is mostly for dynamic boulders, but it can apply to static ones as well: try to practice the move you're struggling with, but an easier version of it. Use holds from other problems that are closer to you, or you feel more secure on, but (ideally) still something that feels pretty difficult. Once you've got that dialed and you could do it in your sleep, you can try the actual move again. You can of course gradually increase the difficulty too, if there are nearby holds that allow it.
      Also, I always try as many different ways to do it as possible. Can you get a heel hook somewhere, or what happens if you approach a hold with the other hand, etc. You might get lucky and find a weird unintuitive move that actually does make it easier, but in the likely case that your initial method was better, then you can at least feel more confident, through the process of elimination, that you're doing it the right way. That little extra confidence boost might seem insignificant, but I've found it can actually really help sometimes!
