  • I picked up a brand new Nissan CD00A 6 speed manual transmission for the track 350Z project.
RS tuning in Vaughn Ontario hooked me up with with their shop discount. Every little bit helps.
Just a quick update for this week with some more on the way. The actual build is on the way too.
This video might be a little weaker on content and audio, but with the swipe of a toggle on my phone now the videos are being uploaded in full 4K. Increasing production quality on the way as well!

Hey man I discovered your channel today and I just wanted to reach out to let you know your videos are great. I appreciate all of the knowledge you spew about the 350z platform and the sick track clips you include. You've definitely provided a lot of insight on future plans for my G35. Thanks again

Awesome! The 2003-TE I found in FL and had shipped here came with a CD00A. It does shift better than the stock 6MT in my 2004. I'm no expert at all, but to me it feels like it just catches instantly whereas the stock one takes a revolution or two? IDK the terminology.

Great timing on this vid, I’d be curious to hear your thoughts on it when it’s up and running 👍
I’ve got an old ‘03 with either the CD000 or CD003 I believe, and with 78k on the clock it’s starting to get to that point, even with me being religious with rev matching over the years. Street-only use but it’s still lived a hard life, so will probably replace the trans with the clutch/flywheel all at once

Yeah. IMO the transmission is one of the most crucial parts for the feel and enjoyment of the car. Hope to have it up and running in a few weeks? Depends on the shop.

@@2THPWR sounds good, yeah I’m waiting a bit until my buddy gets his shop built later this summer, so that we have the benefit of a lift when doing the swap

In USD it looks like shop cost for a new one is 1707 plus taxes and then plus shipping if you have to ship.

Edit: that’s if you have a core return of an old transmission to Nissan. Core charge is $400 USD. I chose to keep my old transmission because it’s definitely worth more than that. I might sell it later to recoup some of the funds.

So this transmission is better than the CD009 ?

I believe they are structurally the same.

The CD00As are just newer and replace production of all previous generations. If you get a replacement transmission you want an “A” unless you can be sure the “9” is new,
