Lenovo Yoga C930 Review: An Ultra-Portable PC With Perks!

- The Lenovo Yoga C930 is an ultrabook, built with portability in mind, and a guy named "MrMobile" has to love that, right? But Lenovo didn't stop at making a thin and light PC; it built in nearly everything you need for a premium computing experience, from the gorgeous 4K display to a Dolby soundbar in the hinge to a built-in cover for the webcam. There's even a silo for the included stylus. The only thing keeping me from making the Yoga C930 my go-to Windows machine is the absence of discrete graphics - but even here, Lenovo's foresight provides a workaround. See what I mean in the Lenovo Yoga C930 Review!

Hey folks! Just wanted to say I got the message: you *do* read and value the spec sheet I usually include! I omitted it this time around because it's time-consuming to build and no one ever comments on it ... but seeing this level of feedback asking for detailed specs means I won't make that mistake again. :) Meantime, if you want a deeper look at this machine, check out the Windows Central review: www.windowscentral.com/lenovo-yoga-c930-review
Thanks as always for watching!
I would like to see a comparison of laptops that you reviewed in the past. I think that would be good for what your daily driver is, etc.
I'm very happy that you read the comments, and truly want to better your content. This is why we watch you, it's because you want to make us happy 😀.
If you're recommending Star Trek Discovery ,. I'm starting it .
nice video
Word of advice: run a poll regarding changes you want to make to your videos. It's a great way to get feedback before people get annoyed or something. With that being said, I love your videos. :)
The modern implementation of sleep on windows 10 is very draining. Go into the power settings and enable hibernate. After that, make the PC go into hibernate after 30min of sleep. I did this on my lte surface go. Makes a huge difference in battery standby time.
Man, you deserve much more subscribers, your work is amazingly entertaining ✌️
Gold standard for tech videos
I scrolled down to the comments to see if anyone else noticed this. I've been watching his amazing reviews for YEARS and I don't know how he doesn't have over 1M subs! What is he doing wrong? Seems like he's doing everything right.
Now *This* is an upload pattern I can get used to! 👐
Video starts at 0:00
Earth revolves around sun
Ends at 6:32
Outstanding move
I've been on the fence for a laptop for the last 2 years. I finally bought one after watching this vid. Bravo!
beautiful intro music...syncs so well with your words
true art
Thank you, MM for reviewing the C930. There aren't that many video reviews of the unit, and I had reservations that were addressed in large part to your video. I have purchased said unit, plugged it in with a grimace... and thankfully, it's proving to be everything that folks have been saying. Unlike the HP Spectre 360, this is a very quiet unit, the 4k display is wonderful (but turn off the auto dimming option), the sound is the best I've heard in a windows device, and the pen/touch pad/keyboard combo is wonderful. Again, thanks for the hearty endorsement - it swayed to me to wait on a sale and pick up the C930 with some generous specs.
Can you review Star Trek Discovery ?
:))))
pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease
Mr. Mobile's other reviews :P
yup... come on mr mobile... review it.
Lost and gone forever is my favorite Guster album, thanks for showing it some love
Excellent review as always! Keep uploading more MrFisher! Your review are so fantastic.
No one better than you Michael to make these videos, love your work. greetings from Portugal :-)
The simple fact that it comes with that webcam cover shoots this way up on my buy list. Privacy is huge and the fact that a manufacturer is willing to do that means a lot to me as a consumer. Lenovo has been doing a lot right, hope they keep it up.
Your reviews are so in-depth. Another great one for the channel!
You forgot to mention the keyboard and trackpad, two of the most important aspects of laptop, but otherwise great review
Just picked this up awesome product and your reviews are always well balanced.
I just got the C930 yesterday - open box at Best Buy in perfect condition for $700 - and for the top spec 4K, 16GB/512GB version that you showed for $1650 - amazing what a year will do.
Oh, and yeah, it's amazing.
When you say open box, does it means that it was used? I don't understand the concept 😅
@@angaloo14 It can mean a few things - it was purchased and returned with no problems (they didn't like it) or it could have been a demo (given mine's condition that isn't the case) or somehow the box could have gotten lost if it was opened for some reason, etc. There really are a ton of reasons, I once got an open box monitor that still had the film on it (so someone had just cut the box open but not actually taken it out).
So I got the exact same return policy and a warranty like it's brand new. It's in perfect cosmetic condition and I opened the chassis to check there too - it's perfect, I got very very lucky.
Great work with this one! The one handed open test is important and you made sure to remind people that Windows is... Windows - with all the intrusive bloat software. No dedicated graphics is also a worthy inclusion. These cons are pretty glaring to me. The pros are charming though - with the pen compartment, sound bar, and camera shade 👍
This pc is magnificent. I liked the way you gave its review. Awesome video hope you reach 1 million fast

Honor V20 Review coming soon??
A video of some sort, yes! Will probably not do the full review as it's not coming to the US, so it's tough to give it a "review" that's up to my standards.
@@TheMrMobile you could include it in a montage of what you expect from smartphones in 2019, and tech in general
The price, it hurts.
I've got the old style yogabook for £150, and I absolutely adore it.
So close to 1 million Mark! I Remember when you had 150k. Keep it up :)
Mr mobile, I really like your reviews . . . Ya kinda deserve more subscribers than you already have . . . BTW: I saw you have the Honor View 20, I'm waiting for that review tho . . .
One of the best tech review channels on CZcams....keep it up
Great video as always 👍
Got the best suggestion for my next laptop. Thank you, Mr. Mobile.
I bought this laptop. I'm typing from it now.
It's amazing! It's beautiful, aesthetic, and sturdy to hold. The display is great as well. I have the HD version, not 4K.
I had a macbook pro, then a surface pro, and no my Lenovo Yoga c930.
I absolutely love it!
My only wish is the webcam was better. But I barely use it. So it doesn't bother me.
what do you like about the yoga more than the surface pro? i want to buy on of these, but i dont know which is better?
@@misterx8903 I like that the screen is bigger, it has a real keyboard,; not a flimsy one. And Overal a solid device. and it comes with a stylus. oh! The sound bar on the Lenovo is the GOAT. When I watch a movie on the Lenovo in the dark, in my bed, it feels like i'm in a theater. The sound is crisp! It's a great laptop for productivity and consuming entertainment.
Hi. Idk if u could reply to this, but if you could. please do. I was wondering if I should get the Yoga c930 or a macbook. Since you experienced both laptops Which one do you prefer?
oof cathleeen hardware wise, it’s almost identical from the time I posted the comment. I think the newer MacBooks would be a beast of a machine now. However, it really boils down to software. Do you prefer Apple or Windows? I’m more of a windows gal. Even when I had my MacBook, I downloaded windows in it. So from now on, I’ll stick to windows machines. They are just as aesthetically pleasing and with beastly performance as any MacBook.
Love yu michel.. I have been following you from last 6 year(not by subscribing but watching most of your content).. 😁😁🎈🎈
Consecutive videos , great work love that all your videos have great quality.
Music in your videos are really good👌👌👌🎶🎶
I love seeing MR.mobile Happy in a review video thats makes me happy to and ready to buy the item blindfolded
You're not kidding about discovery. It's absolutely awesome.
A different tech CZcamsr who does it right but interesting.
Star treeek :). When they gonna show us Spock :).
Nevermind...the yoga review is awesome. I always enjoy your reviews.
Got me at "star trek" (but man, the Enterprise being broken to put Pike on charge... tss....) ;)
ah, yes, great review, looks like a great laptop!
Woot! Another MSTie! Great review Mr. M!
Man give this guy 1 mill subscribers already
Woah! 700k+ subs already! Good job! 👌
how's the keyboard ? How well does it perform ? How's the trackpad ? All you really talked about was the display , battery and build . Would really appreciate more in-depth coverage next time . Thanks
Got the Yoga C930 a few days ago. It’s been an excellent laptop so far!
Does your screen wobble at all? If so, how much?
@@SwankyMarrow212 Nothing that has ever bothered me to the point where I've thought about disliking it.
@@elanshudnow I just received mine and I'm trying to determine whether it's an issue with my unit or if it's normal. It is pretty darn wobbly. Just typing on it can make the screen shake. And if you touch it, it has quite a bit of wobble. Im worried it's only going to get worse over time.
@@SwankyMarrow212 So i just thought about your comment as I am on my laptop right now. My screen definitely does not wobble at all. Sounds like there's something defective in your hinge.
Hello, your review is simply amazing and entertaining.
I still use my Yoga Book (v.1 Android) for class notes and have completely ditched paper notebooks. I love it!
Kudos on the review! What is the brand/model of the laptop backpack you're using at 6:00?
Came to ask the same thing.
I'm curious too
As usual Mr Michael Fisher didn't disappoint. High quality review
My youtube browsing is incomplete without a Ted-ED video and a Mr. Mobile video.
Thanks for the informative and pleasing review👍
A laptop review without mentioning the keyboard or the touch pad! I expected a more thorough review.
Will you review the Huawei Matebook 13?
Yup the perfect innovative piece in my opinion. If I were to buy a laptop today, I’ll be torn for choices.
Are you watching, Apple???? This is how you design a laptop
Leenovo is finally stepping up to the plate with their new lineups of ThinkPads and this lineup. Now hopefully Microsoft will update their Surface lineups with USB-C campatibility.
Love the video and product.
What's the processor and is it possible to do some video editing on it?
I need to know also
Mr Mobile is too much underrated
Finally the best reviewer is back :)
Yes michael i will get to star trek discovery, after i finish the other 35 seasons of star trek
I love your cinematography
Would love to see a video on how a Lenovo laptop and Motorola smartphone work together. How easy is it to share pictures, videos, and other content between devices? How do notifications on a Motorola smartphone show up on a Lenovo laptop work?
2:07 dude I need that wallpaper!
-A colossal star trek fan
Even though it obviously came with a cost, I think it is always the best solution if you can put the stylus into the notebook. I want to carry around the notebook and not always hold one extra thing, or have it always in the way. And oh my god the sliding cover for the webcam... This should be standard for aaaall notebooks.
Yo man can you do a video about which laptops student should buy for their everyday usage
.
Yeah i know that’s not the kind of video you usually make but still it would be lovely
Seriously go on eBay, and look for used Lenovo Thinkpads with at least a quad cord CPU, that can take 8GB of DDR3/L or DDR4 RAM, and unless you, or your school requires it, then throw a Linux distro on it such as Mint MATE, as it will run lighter on the hardware that Windows 10.
@@CommodoreFan64 I think even cinnamon would perform better than windows 10 tbh.
@@dav4ever200 True, but I'm just not the biggest cinnamon DE fan, I'm a member of the KISS(Keep It Simple Stupid) club when it comes to my computers, I just want the damn thing to work with the least amount of resources possible while still being user friendly, and for me Mint MATE strikes that middle ground just right on modern 64bit machines with at least a good dual core CPU, and 4GB of system RAM.
Love the review and it makes me want to get one. Hopefully soon :D
I own the Yoga C930 and It's very great.
Please do a video on the Matebook 13 next!
Mr Mobile, if you go to Dolby Atmos settings in the Start Menu, you can change the bass to be better. Also right click on the sound icon on the taskbar and make sure spatial sound is on. You welcome! 😊
So would you choose this over something like the Microsoft Surface? (Newest model)? I am still in the market for a new laptop/tablet. I love your reviews and have come to trust your opinion on a lot of products! Thank you for your always awesome videos!!
Nice review. I own a Yoga 520 which is also a great machine (after deinstall McCaffee and put Avira instead,. due to same reasons you mention, namely the popups and aggressive marketing). I am between getting a Yoga 930 or a HP Spectre (the new leather one) or splash out on a Surface Book or X1 Carbon Yoga/Tablet. But the price of the Yoga 930 is the best in my opinion, i am just dubious about how well the thunderbolt ports will accept an external graphics card solution
I hate bloatware. Show me a Windows 10 machine with zero third-party bloatware and I'm sold!
perform a clean install, select which programs you want installed on your computer and you're done... well except for candy crush and whatever app Microsoft "recommends" to you from the Store
1:57 peeping the new fossil sport smartwatch :)
The force is strong with this one :P
Btw, love your black chair and sofa
God i love your reviews!
Why the honor view 20 is coming... I'm so excited about your review 😍😍
2:39 honor view20 review?
Seriously, that webcam cover should be a standard on every device, yes even on phones
Agreed!
very nice Ultra Book, it have something magic also your new Honor V20 looks awesome, I`m sure everytime you stay mobile 😎
What is the backpack you used at the end?
Thank you but now you have to review the HP spectre with Gem Cut!
Thank you, i was shopping for laptops for college and this one really caught my eye! ☺️ Thanks for the review!
This laptop would be perfect for me if it had an MX150, or at least a G-series Intel processor. Though this is already a great laptop in my opinion, I hope to see a refresh of this laptop this year with better graphics processing, and maybe in some new colors as well.
This is much better than the XPS line and by far.
The only things that really could make it better are the battery life and dedicated GPU
What a piece of tech... I want one
I'm using Ubuntu on my 730.. It's perfect. Windows was an extreem pain to use when i coming from Linux.
Can you review some UC headphones for instance Plantronics 8200 and the 6200 or some Jabra headphones with Noise canceling, for those people out there for want a headphone for both work and entertainment. 🙏 Keep doing what you're doing high five from Denmark
Yeah, but how much is it, Michael? And what's the price difference between this & the 1080p version? Are there any other differences between the two?
[love your vids; of Android Central, Android Authority, and Android Police, you're my fave. I'd love to see you collab w Crackberry Kevin at some point.]
@Mr Mobile what start trek wallpaper is that?? It looks amazing!
01:52 Perfect setup right there.
View 20 on the side looks gorgeous.
I seen it today in the Mall of Emirates... I confirm it's totally different than the first release.
Its nice to watch things most of us cant afford at the moment
Best tech reviwer and I like all the best ones
I much prefer the grey than ugly blue. Not however a big fan of the HUGE YOGA name on the lid. Otherwise, with the inclusion of a Full size SD card reader and dedicated graphics, it would have been a perfect laptop. Not quite there as it is but still very nice. Also, not having at least 1 USB 3 port for normal external drives and usb's is a bit of a pain.
Video is on point. 👍🏽
Best Ultrabook I've seen in a while. Too bad for the bloat ware.
Love my Yoga 920 even though I have had 2 SSD failures.
This so much more of a creative tool than a MacBook Pro and so much cheaper.
Looks cool! You are certainly one of the BEST tech reviewers on CZcams -thanks for the info! Still love my Surface Book w/ performance base, though.
Love your videos! :)
Can you maybe get your hands on the new Zenbook from Asus? Because it looked very promising at CES!
I love that Star Trek wallpaper.
So would love owning and using a ultrabook like this after having owned a Lenovo Yoga 2in1 before. That price though is just too much to stomach especially for what you get I could spend less and get a great Surface Pro or Surface book (albeit it with slightly less storage) or around $1000-$1200. Still pricey but not bad knowing you are getting a nice windows experience.
How are you still on 733k you need at least 5mil dude
Just install , Linux or Windows 10 Long Term Service Branch .
