LZJ's defense was being exploited here by those body smashes. It's good to see fresh faces moving up to the top positions.

Congrats to Kodai. How is it that LZJ as "attacking player" receive at least 3 times more smashes than his opponent from 2nd set onwards ? LZJ just does not have enough variation - his cross court net was non existent and general use of all court was poor and yet he was trying to play rally style. His unforced errors made it worse. Kodai was already moving back ready to jump every time LZJ lifted to the back. Also, Kodai's game plan to smash to the body paid dividends especially to a big guy. Tactics wise, LZJ strangely sat in his shell from 2nd set and gave up his initiative. By the time he tried to up the pace in 3rd set, he had already lost the psychological advantage. Liew Daren as his coach is a sorry choice - he as a player has failed consitently on the big stage (other than his one win in the mid tier French Open years ago). If LZJ carries on like this, he will be just a one hit wonder and that's too bad as he has talent to spare.
