Every Beatles Album Ranked Worst to Best

  • All 13 albums by The Beatles are tallied from my least favorite to my most in this video. No, yeah. Every album. Please Please Me, With The Beatles, A Hard Day's Night, Beatles For Sale, Help!, Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Magical Mystery Tour (kind of), The White Album, Yellow Submarine, Abbey Road, and Let It Be. Obviously that's not the order I rank them. That would be a serious spoiler. Nah, bud. That's just the chronological order of the U.K. album's releases.
    Anyway, I hope you enjoy. This video took me a good 6 or 7 weeks to complete, but it ended up pretty dang good and I learned a lot about video efficiency on my journey (so hopefully the next video will come out in less time).
    Also, anybody got ideas for a cooler outro? Not that "Live long and don't fear the reaper" was bad... it just wasn't good.

    If you have any questions, leave them as a reply here. I might do a Q&A video in the future if there are enough good or funny questions. They can be pretty much anything. They could be about my videos, about my personality, or anything completely random, outlandish, or funny. Go ahead. I'm curious/holding your favorite Lego Minifigure for ransom.

      very! (it's my #5, at the moment anyway) - I think it kind of got underrated originally because it followed up Sgt Pepper and because it included previously released singles so it didn't feel as fresh (or as much like a real complete album... heck it wasn't even released as an LP originally in the UK.) but now... just listening to it as it exists and not worrying about the fact that "Penny Lane" and "Strawberry Fields Forever" were released on a single like a year before, it's really quite delicious.

      Rubber souls my 3rd

  • @0w3n27
    @0w3n27 Před 2 lety +28

    My top 5
    5 - Rubber Soul, great album , I liken this as The Beatles’ Beggars Banquet, in the sense that both albums were acoustic driven and were the first step into the band’s creative peak, The Beatles also became more varied in the lyrics they weren’t just singing about holding hands no more.
    4 - Abbey Road, Great synth work present, holds two Beatles classics ‘Come Together’ and ‘Here Comes The Sun’ has an iconic album cover and also Octopus’s Garden what more could you want!
    3 - Sgt. Pepper’s, This isn’t just an album, it’s an experience. The use of orchestral instruments makes this album a sceptical, it’s like you’re witnessing a grand play. This is the Beatles’ masterpiece, each song is a staple on popular music in terms of influence.
    2 - Revolver, I think what this album does so well is it captures artistic experimental sides of Peppers while at the same time still appealing to the masses with single bait songs like ‘Here, There and Everywhere’ and ‘For No One’ being notable exceptions. Revolver isn’t just an mesh of experimental sounds it also exceeds in great cohesion songwriting, instrumentation and is just an all around fantastic pop album.
    1 - The White Album, this to me is The Beatles at their most primal artistic stage. They were pouring their absolute creative vision and soul into this album, some worked some not so much, but even then it doesn’t take away from the utter brilliance of this album, a full fledged rollercoaster ride from start to finish, Very stripped back in terms of instrumentation with The Beatles dropping their orchestra in favour of their own guitars bass drums etc. This album is a grand opus culminating in a homage to their musical icons their ‘roots’ and to the entire catalogue of their now legendary legacy.

      It sticks out very abruptly being the only sound collage, but I enjoy it on an album that’s always chaotically switching styles. It’s weirdly the most psychedelic song they’ve released and coming right before the very saccharine goodnight feels like a good contrast. I find some of the more tongue and cheek folk songs more egregious. I can’t get behind Bungalow Bill or Dont Pass Me By as much.

      @@alexchadwick_001 Favorite song is really tough, but I think I'll go for "Lovely Rita." It has a really fun flow. As for least favorite, probably either "Blue Jay Way" or "Only a Northern Song." Each of those songs has sections I still like, but I dont consider them as fleshed out as the rest of The Beatles catalog. What about you?

      The Waterloo Watermelon hmm that’s a tuff one, my favourite it’s probably free as a bird, but if we’re talking about all four members, all you need is love and my least favourite is probably baby your man or good morning good morning.
      Ps do u play any instruments just wondering?

      @TheWaterlooWatermelon  Před 4 lety +1

      @@alexchadwick_001 I can definitely agree with you that "Good Morning, Good Morning" isn't the best (the chorus just doesn't do it for me). "Baby You're a Rich Man," however, has always held a special place for me, just cause it was one of the first Beatles songs I discovered. As for instruments, I play guitar, bass, and I use the electronic instruments in GarageBand.

    Beatles For Sale did have Words Of Love on it. Great cover of the Buddy Holly song. The fab four played it the best in my opinion, not to take anything away from Buddy. Plus there were some other covers of other iconic American rock songs from the 50s. The Beatles were heavily influenced by pioneers like Buddy, Little Richard, Carl Perkins and Chuck Berry, so the album does get brownie points from me for that.
