- Each year, I head over to the Isle of Wight for a go at fishing for some unique, scaly mirror carp and rather hefty commons.
In this piece, I experience a rather wonderful session on a beautiful island that isn't normally renowned for big carp.
I was thinking of popping over to the Isle of Wight for a short holiday.... Then stumbled across your video! Even a better reason to go! It never crossed my mind to carp fish there! Great video 👍👍👍😎😎😎

I had a kettle with a whistle spout which is OK as long as you don't get a take whilst the kettles on for a brew. You become torn between playing your fish and stopping the annoying whistle. I done away with the whistle bit in the end. Nice session for a cold February well done.

A great catch at a very tough time of year 💪and your tip with the mole hill dirt is a banger. Getting them naturals to the deck like that is a winner. I can emagine it clouds up realy well if there's any agitation down there aswell 👌

That mirror was unbelievable & would make my whole winter not just the session, well done. Your biggest fish will be a catfish I'd imagine & I'm guessing around 165lb👍

I used to look up to Jimmy when I started fishing back in 2010 on Korda tv I remember him going to France and rinsing the lake , legend shame I stopped fishing but this makes me wanna get the tackle out again
Great vlog James , and the fish was gorgeous . The molehill soil is a great method , you could add a little bit of aquarium gravel if you need to get bait down to the bottom quickly ( i.e. river fishing ) . Keep that kettle ; maybe get ' Huxley ' and 'Barley ' engraved on it ? I say 63lb 8oz for your pb 👍

It’s a kettle , if it boils water keep it , if you want to be caught yourself, buy a carpy kettle
I use a pan out my kitchen. The least carpy thing I've got lol. Kettles always taste gross.
