Can we talk about the control that Sam has over his voice? He’s an Australian singing in the accent of a native French speaker who is slowly losing his accent as it becomes more americanised and damn it’s impressive.

@@jkidd1982 So far the show hasn't tickled me but now I'm definitely intrigued. I feel that this man was born to play this role! I've read the books, THIS one in particular, so many times that I have my own head canon about how he looks, speaks and moves.... this guy drew me in and blew away all of my preconceived notions! I'm so here for it!
Honestly I am super psyched. I really enjoyed what AMC did for this series.
And as much as I love Tom Cruise in the role (iconic). Sam is the essence of Lestat.
My only issue is actually the music. I want to see either a more industrial/ noise with a sprinkle of FKA Twigs sound. Or an Iggy Pop approach. Less Blusey. Or full neo glam rock. But that's just me. Still can't wait to see it.

Matter of fact.. without the success of the movie and what Tom did with the character..we don't get this show..or Sam as Lestat
@@boombasett6038nah Lestat was Cruise’s best work. He killed that role and surprised everyone. Somehow Sam has managed to elevate Lestat to another level. Maybe because it’s longer form and so we can dive deeper into a character that Sam never misses on?
Oh lawd, it was controversial that Tom Cruise was cast as Lestat. Anne didn’t want him cast and quit the production over it. Fans didn’t want it because it’s Tom Cruise, wtf is he doing as a vampire?!?? He proved to be adequate but avoided the homoeroticism and would never have cut it as a believable rock star. Stuart Townsend had the rock star part down and that was about it. Most fans have been waiting for Sam since the books were published. I’m glad Anne got to see him before she died.

Maybe I’m reading this wrong or maybe I’m stating the obvious, but this whole clip is a music video right. Lestat playing up to the expected diva behaviours of a ‘vampire rockstar’. Daniel coughing after asking about IWTV, almost as if Lestat is choking him with his vampire powers. The camera zooms in on him as if by magic as he uses his mind gift to talk to the audience before he starts to sing.

Technically we are no longer in “IWAV “ we are entering VL the second book . The whole series even interview was about Lestat . It’s just being told from Louis POV but it’s a small introduction to Lestat . The whole chronicle is about him.
Yeah but will the show be? I hope the show isn’t an 100% adaptation of the book because I do care about Louis and Lestats relationship THE MOST.
This is an adaptation.The show is taking a different approach.

And after seeing what the have done , I bet they cut the whole back story of Lestat . And probably will Heavily focus on this modern rock situations. Which in this book Louie’s isn’t in very much . But they might change all that . Not sure how they will. People forget, Louis really only was a a part of Lestat journey for a small time . The whole Chronicles became Lestat story. He is the main character. I personally hime they don’t make it all about Louis and him only , there are just as interesting situations with other characters in the books .
@@copperhead2694 Would make no sense to cut whole back story. This book set up the next one. Akasha taking Lestat would make no sense if she and Lestat had not already met in his backstory. Marius, Gabrielle, even the "conversation" with Nicolas is very important to the story. They should be included. It is in Queen of the Damned that the modern Rockstar version of Lestat really is front and center. Season 3 should focus on Lestat and his past. But maybe as a recollection with Louis present. Louis was in the book. Just the later parts. In fact, their "reunion" cements how deep their relationship was. The writers have been doing a great job so far. I have confidence they will keep the momentum going.

OH HIS VOICE AND HIM GOD CRAFTED PERFECTION
OMG! THIS is just sheer PERFECTION! I hope they include a whole variety of songs in Season 3 because this is just BRILLIANT Sam Reid sounds EXACLTY as I imagined.....the flamboyance, the playful arrogance poking fun at himself and the stodgy way vampires have self-governed themselves to this point in the story line, the blending of classical musical knowledge sprinkled throughout the wording, the seductive "whaa-aaa" and flirtatious words being delivered with honest reference to who and what he is ----I could go on, but its absolute perfection!
it would be amusing if they show various vampires going about their daily lives and hearing the song for the first time. In the book, they describe how vampires were in shock all over the world in one sentence, but they never go in detail. So I could imagine a montage showing vampires in different parts of the world hearing it playing at a club or on the radio for the first time.....would also be a cool way to introduce a whole variety of characters.

I absolutely love AMC Interview. I have been a fan of the books since the beginning and have always adored Lestat. In the 90s I was a performer in New Orleans and actually had the opportunity to perform for one of Anne's Vampire balls. It was truly an amazing evening. Fast forward to 1 year after Hurricane Katrina and Anne had relocated to CA and saw her again when I was performing. The second book VAMPIRE LESTAT is my favorite of the chronicles. We finally focus on Lestat both as a goth rock star but also the "pre quel before he was a vampire with Nicholas , his mother Gabrielle and less of the mopey tortured Louis and Armand. So should be fabulous. Don't get me wrong AMC first 2 seasons were fab. I loved the resetting from 1790s plantation New Orleans to Storyville of the 1910s. I also really thought resetting Theatre des Vampyrs around WWII was unique compared to the Belle Epoque period of the novel. Really creative and well done. SAM REID IS LESTAT. He is perfect! I can't wait to see future seasons. I'm now in the industry an artist developer working with talented actors. One of my clients is up for a small role so keeping fingers crossed. I admit though I was completely disappointed in the Mayfair Witches for AMC. Mediocre acting .. the Lasher actor felt soooo wrong and I just couldn't get into it. For a great Anne Rice series def. visit the Mini Series for FEAST OF ALL SAINTS with James Earl Jones and fantastic cast I believe it is up here on CZcams still. Also since I'm a classical concert pianist, actor, speak fluent French.. Lestat should leave Louis and marry me LOL Just saying.

it has been two weeks now and I am drooling over Sam Reid like anything. He has defined acting at a different level. In S1 he has shown what is to be truly androgynous. He has been an amazing "character shifter" slipping into being a man and a woman so effortlessly. His eyes and his voice are his greatest assets and he can deliver dialogues even if he is not speaking a single word.

When conducting video interviews it’s standard to have someone of similar height and build as the talent to sit in so cameras and lights can get set, without talent having to sit through it. I’m assuming they used this as a red herring to make the audience think for a second that Lestat might have been recast. Cheap trick, but funny nonetheless.
