It went from too easy to use too hard to use and honestly it was more fun to use when it was too easy. Seeing that stream of lil numbers before the target blew up was satisfying. Now it feels like you're mentally juggling too much with leading the target, feathering the charge, the bullet travel time. When it comes down to it, you can do more damage more effectively and in a shorter time with either the longbow or sentinel.
Wonder if introducing a new hop-up to revert it to the past version would work or even just making the hit scan a toggle for slightly lower damage.

About the charge rifle: take away the dropoff-- it's a laser, it should go straight the whole way-- and reduce the charge time. That will make it something that people will even consider taking over a sentinel, but even then I doubt it.

Yea the charge rifle is just not as viable anymore. Way too difficult to use in any scenario.

Note for anyone looking to use the charge rifle one of the reasons it can feel off is it has a higher projectile velocity than the other snipers sitting at 851 Meters per second compared to the sentinel at 787 and the longbow at 750. so you need to lead your shot less than the other snipers.

Charge rifle is weird because of the charged up so if a enemy plays cover its hard to do constant damage

I think respawn should make the charge rifle into a bow - you shoot whenever you want, but the damage depends on the charge
How does accuracy % work for the old charge rifle? Does each ammo count as 1/1 or is it divided into the intervals of damage per laser?
I bet that that it counted that final burst at the end that dealt most of the damage. Which actually might mean that people’s accuracy % is going down because of them not using it anymore and losing the skill they had with timing it. Or more likely, not having a line connecting the gun to the target anymore makes it a lot harder to aim for the burst.
The charge rifle is a good gun for closer ranges as well as far ranges due to it having almost no hip fire inaccuracy allowing it to be used at close to long range with the highest damage of all snipers except kraber allowing it to be good while being different and taking a lot of skill I can now almost hit it hip fire consistently and hit a head shot
i personally think they shoulve left charge rifle as is with a larger magazine but as a care package red weapon with a 2 x4 ard attached .also they need to buff lifeline give her knockdown resurrection shield back but instead this time to make it more balanced it should reflect the person knockdown shield instead of being impenetrable like before or just make the shield protecting them the equivalent of a grey knockdown.her ultimate should be like packer punch from cod where it automatically upgrades what she docent have from gun attachments, knockdown shield which can go hand in hand with passive and armor which it ard does.same can apply to a teammate since their 3 slides you could all get 1 upgrade for that drop or one person get 3 individual upgrades and decrease the ult cool down.
I think they need to either need to revert the changes or they need to allow you to hold it's charge/decrease the time it takes to charge. Youre not winning any duels with other snipers unless you're both using the charge rifle.

@@BaldMattDamon I have no idea. Just watching the video I get the vibe there's something off with the hit box as well. I think they could still salvage it but idk. If it's between any other sniper rifle and the charge rifle I'd take the other sniper rifles

I think the charge rifles has had the most "reworks" it went from energy and a beam too sniper ammo and a smaller mag, then went too you charge it and it shoots a line
You could also do it with a specific amount of games instead of time

I feel like the big issue with charge rifle as it is now is the incredibly long charge time and the extreme kick. They either need to reduce the kick from firing significantly to make consecutive shots easier, or they need to reduce the time it takes to charge.
It also definitely needs increased projectile size, but that goes without saying.
You can feather it so almost instantly fires.

@@zombiedeathrays8862 I'm talking about the time it takes to feather 2 shots with the charge rifle. It's not that it's difficult, it's that it's too slow an ineffective. Not to mention you'll be aiming at your target for a while which relies in them not going behind cover. If this strategy was that good, then Havoc would be god tier and everyone would run it over the r-99 even without turbo charger.

The TF2 version is more like a mix between the old and the reworked one. It has the same charge up mechanic but it's also a hitscan

I think it charged faster as well making it funnily enough a decent vs pilot weapon if you hit shoots a anti titan craver if you will
New charge rifle was banned from recent non-pro tournament cause it was too OP. It is pretty crazy if you get the timing down.
Watch staycation when he uses it you need to tap your fire button so that it's almost charged and then fully shoot it when if that makes sense

The charge time is the problem. in the current season with the r301 and the triple take on top of the wingman and rampage it's just too weak in comparison.

This rifle was made to hit titans that are the size of a small building, and you would still miss. I don’t know why it’s brought to this game. Hit box size issue.

The Charge Rifle was a unique weapon because of the way it shot. Now they just made it into a regular sniper that is really slow. The Sentinel is WAY better
Its my second highest level weapon. I land most of my shots with it after the rework
The further they are the more damage they do. So if u see a team crazy far away, use charge rifle. Its best to use that range with the 10x digi

It went from, Oh ! a charged rifle, for Meh, a charged rifle... weapon become pretty much worse than any gun by far you can see the light from miles away, you can't hold the shot the damage is okay but hitting it is like throwing a coin and praying it will land on straight up, damage wise a charged sentinel does the same thing way better.
The charge rifle is better with marksman sights and I used to get 3k
