I guess if I watched further you answered my above question. But, when sanding, does it sand at different rates than the plywood? Like in this case when it's too thick do you need to be extra careful with sander overlap from resin to plywood?
The resin sands off with decent effort. When it transitions to plywood it kind of stops sanding cause the plywood is flat and the sandpaper hase nothing to grab into. Try sanding a piece of plywood not MDF and you will see what I mean

Great repair video! What brand of resin did you use? I just picked up a Royal Flush Deluxe that has about the same level of damage as yours on one of the front legs. Also did you have any problems with the front and sides separating near the damaged area?
Hi Dennis. Glad you enjoyed it. Bondo 2 part resin is what i used. Worked great. No issue with any separation. The trick is to make sure the area is completely saturated and has enough area to bite into and hold. I say its much better then using plastic wood or body filler. Take care.
No issues with any separation this stuff dries rock hard but I’m sure you can damage if you over tighten. It’s Bondo Brand if I remember but I’m sure any brand will work as long ss there is a gardener
Thanks for this. I am using what you did to repair my cabinet. The mix ratio on the can is a bit cryptic. Something like 10 drops per oz. Now I have to come up with a way to measure an oz. What did you do to accurately measure the hardener and resin?
BTW, I used a 16 oz disposable cup. That sort of works. It is too large, but the first main line in the side of the cup is 4 oz. But don't use it twice. On the third use, the bottom dropped out. My first time was a mess. The joint where the bottom fits leaked and a fair amount ran down there. I find that this stuff is available at Ace Hardware and auto parts places. It is about $5 cheaper at Ace as of 7/2022.
Hi Larry. I trying to ratio it based on a full can to drop and do around 10 drops per container that im using. I find mixing it well (try for zero bubbles) and let it sit for a minute or two does the trick.

Is there an advantage over regular bondo or wood filler? I want to get into learning high end restorations instead of just refurbishing games
This stuff seeps into voids and empty spaces making joints and seems strong.
