- For a brief period of time Apple created some itty bitty teeny tiny little iPhones for us to enjoy!!!! ...and then took them away from us :(

At that point, those iPhone Minis pretty much just love each other. After all, they are a dying breed.
Agreed, they should make love to each other.
5:35 The 12 Mini really loves the 13 Mini!
@@TheOfficialBaharaByte clingy :3
Me watching this on 12 mini
We just witness a love story of a dying echo of the phones.
I miss the 16:9 phones tbh. Since phone companies are trying to make their displays taller and taller like a telephone. And design cameras pointlessly bigger.
It's kinda amazing how the Google Fold looks like an 16:9 phone again
Interested in a small 16:9 phone with actually usable performance? Check out Balmuda Phone
The width on 16:9 phones is dope
The 6.3 inch 16:9 phones were big af, with those bezels. Look at the Galaxy Mega. It is much much bigger even than the S24 Ultra.
@@batmanatkinson1188 If modern phones were 16:9, it wouldn't need a bigger size to fit components.
Honestly, I just like the consistency. So companies stop making those iphone 5 parody looking phones
I am still using a Samsung galaxy note 7 to this day because it has a nice 16 by 9 screen which is large. I also hate that with newer phones most videos have these annoying black bars that do nothing.
i have the 13 mini and i am so much more satisfied with it compared to when i had my 11 (which i still had for 3,5 years). only switched bc of size and i will stick with my 13 mini forever. if anything, i want a flagship mini again and not an se, it's really not comparable at all.
It would be cool if Apple made a limit run of smalls phones every other year.
Hoping that the SE 4 is a mini sized iPhone since they discontinued the mini versions
I heard it's going to be in the body of iPhone 14 so 6.1"
6.1 is much better
It's going to be in the 12-14 style body with I believe an LCD screen kinda like the XR.
@@vb7200 I heard it's going to be OLED instead of LCD
@@user-ue9sz5rj9wwell people wanting minis is literally bc not everyone likes 6.1. it's pretty big for a lot of people, especially us women! super uncomfortable
watching this on my 12 mini. i got it about 6 months ago and i love it so much, the size is perfect, and with my usual usage habits i don’t have many issues with the battery life.
Proximity sharing is a cool feature enabled by the U1 UWB chip
iPhone sales down 10%. Could be the 10% who wants small phones. They don't sell well, but they would still sell.
no cause there isnt much on the android end either
@@echoingdespairthe Galaxy S24 and the iphone 15 pro are the only ones holding on the compact form factor
Nah, it's because our habits with phones are changing.
We don't upgrade as much as we used to and manufacturers are putting longer support timeframes on devices.
Also they release iphone 12 mini more late than iPhone 12 and 12 pro so that also crippled the sale
Ive heard before that a lot of ppl straight up didint know they even existed and wouldve bought one if they did
I loved my 12 mini and ALMSOT got the 13 just due to the better battery and soc. The whole 12 series was plagued by bad batteries and poor 5g optimistic. So my 12 mini battery life was a stretch for what I used to for.
Also I live in Florida and worked as a delivery technician for medical supply company, so I was out in the heat and use GPS a lot which not only ate the battery up on the phone because of the slow down and get extremely hot at times. That was more just an issue of the area I live in and how I used it but every phone I've had afterwards has not had that issue.
That's said I would not mind picking up a 13 mini of the backup phone and just because I really enjoyed the size of that particular iPhone. The only issue I ever ran into in terms of using it was the fact that I have bigger thumbs and sometimes it would either not register or have a lot of missed inputs due to it thinking I'm hitting two things at once. Outside of that it was a pretty great product.
I have a SE 2020 and gotta love how usable it's with one hand.
Hey frokfrdk, Ive just found out your channel and started watching you a lot more. Cant believe I never found this really entertaining channel and how you dont have millions of subs. Subbed :)
13 mini didn’t sell well because people already bought the 12 mini. And the people who buy 12 minis are the one who tends to keep their phone for longer period of times. Also minis iPhone considered a “failure” compared to other iPhones. But I’m sure it outsold the entire Galaxy S lineup at the time. Too bad Apple decided to give up on it. They should re release mini iPhone as a SE model and update it every 2-3 years. Such a missed opportunity
Not gonna lie you're underrated AF, don't get me wrong 18K is a lot but, for how in depth and professional you sound I'm very surprised you don't have more Subs, you remind me of bit of dankpods when he started, keep up the good work m8.
Very nice video, highly appreciated your production quality
Just want to say, the base S23/24 and small iPhone 15/Pro are basically the same size/footprint as the Zenfone 10. Still big, but as compact as it gets nowadays
Zenfone had 68.1mm width whereas 15 Pro and S24 are 70.6mm. Also worth noting none have 1440p, but the iphone has the highest resolution at 460ppi, followed by the zenphone at 445 and s24 at 416.
@@RiqMoran And the 12/13 mini are 64.2 mm wide. That's a difference of ~4 mm to the zenphone, with the zenphone only having ~2.5 mm difference to the 15/pro and s23/24. The zenphone is closer in width to "standard" size phones than the minis. In terms of height and weight, the zenphone is identical to other standard size phones, being 1.5 cm taller and 1 oz heavier than the mini, just like the standard and pro iphones and the base galaxy s phones.
25 seconds in, you switched to the 13 mini’s camera and called it a “downgrade” - it’s just overexposed, which is in your control 🤣
the mic though.
@@calyxl43 It sounds like he went from a studio mic to the phone’s mic. If the other phone’s mic actually sounds that good I should rather buy that than a professional mic haha
@@asinglefrenchfry i mean i don't see why he would go to phone mic if he has a studio mic, considering the only reason he swapped camera is because of showing the pixel phone but im not sure because usually iphone mics are actually better so
@@calyxl43That’s my thought too, usually iPhone mics are better. I don’t know why he would switch the mic either, perhaps to emphasize the effect of switching the camera
Better? Than a studio mic? I’m definitely misunderstanding the point here
iPhone minis were the nuts! Great video dude
I have an iPhone 13 mini, and I don't plan on giving it up anytime soon.
The 6.1" iPhones are significantly larger than the iPhone 6/6s/7/8 were. 5.8" X/Xs/11 were much closer in size to those old iPhones.
I think you made a mistake, the iphone 11 is also 6.1 inches. And also because of the bezels and and chassis, like the xr, they appear chunkier than the rest.
@@samuelhere41 The poor people iPhone 11 was 6.1", the iPhone 11 pro was 5.8"
Hehehe I have a green 13 mini, although I will never sell it. I refuse to use large phones, and green is my favourite colour, so the green 13 mini I had to get now or never.
The mini has a weak battery and is not good for many people
@@user-ue9sz5rj9w Many people are simply addicted to smartphones and spend too much time watching screens.
I’m using right now my mini 12 and waiting to stop working for open my brand new 13 mini green 512 GB!!! 😊 mini FOREVER!!!
Crazy how 6.1 inch screens are considered “small” now
I am still using a behemoth galaxy note 7 to this day and it still keeps a pretty good charge!
Yes my brother used to have an S3 samsung phone and my mom also had like a samsung phone. I used to be so amazed when my brother got my mom's phone and showed me the Android beam. That brrbrrr sound when you press that beam button is so good damn got me memories
I love your voice and your accent man
I’ve had a cherry red iPhone 13 mini for about 2 years now and it is held up tremendously. The battery life is very good for a phone its size. And it works just as good as normal size phone. Very discreet and slides easily into your pocket. Also the size is perfect. It fits perfectly in my hand and never slips out.
been rocking a 13 mini since 2021, loving it. plan to keep it as long as I can, cause the size is the great, and i just feel burdened by a big phone, I came from a moto g7 power, which feels like a behemoth compared to this thing, but small compared to modern phones.
imo, it's about the perfect size for a phone
Dude's selfie with the Pixel 8 Pro legit looks like a deep fried meme compared to the iPhones ngl
selfie looks like an actual dslr shot on the pixel💀 can you get your eyes checked please
the iphones extremely oversaturate it making it look like a phone photo
Great video
i just traded my black 12 Mini in for a 15 Pro and at first I didn't think there was gonna be that much of a difference other than size, but I was very wrong lol. Pro Motion is way more noticeable than I thought it'd be, I also forgot what it was like to have a larger battery. I always had to charge my Mini at least once throughout the day, the 15 Pro I can get home and it'll be at 60%. The always on display is a nice plus too, I had it years ago on my Droid Ultra and it's nice to see it on an iPhone finally. I loved my Mini though, I used it for 3.5 years and I would have gone longer if Verizon wasn't running such a good deal right now. I was not excited about any of the new iPhones but after using the 15 Pro I can say it was definitely worth the upgrade.
Same here
My nostalgia and inner child has been very well fueled.
Feels like yesterday i have watched the episode from 5 yrs ago.

using the 12 mini (mint green colour) love it 🎉🎉
Mine is the boring white lol (neutral color because i love changing cases)
@@RideOnTimePH white phones look the best imo, I got a white phone (supposedly blue but oh well) and it looks very nice
The iPhone 12 mini microphones seems to capture a larger audio specter than the 13 mini. The sound is larger and deeper.
R.I.P. iPhone mini
The Pixel a series are close in concept (they are a good bit bigger), (6a 7a 8a) They run the same chip and camera as the higher end models so there is really no sacrifice, just cheaper and smaller than the average phone, But I think the regular Pixel 7 is the perfect size for a phone.
wow when you showed the selfies... you're absolutely gorgeous
i used to use an iphone 13 mini in green then switched to p8p i miss the size but i like the p8p size
I love my RED iphone 13 mini, and i will hold onto it as long as i can
I have similar needs, using iPhone 13 mini combined with S23 Ultra. Each phone is great for specific needs.
I’m one of those who laments the passing of the IPhone Mini, I used a tablet or a laptop when I want to get really involved with screen use. The few times I’m forced to use my phone the Mini was OK but I wanted the 3X zoom camera so when Verizon offered me an upgrade to the 14 Pro I couldn’t refuse. I got a 800$ credit for my 2 year old 12 Mini but I still miss the light weight and easy one hand usability of my old 12 Mini. I guess you can’t have everything
I daily drive a 12 mini and it’s amazing
you're lowkey like dankpods nowadays 👌👌
W vid
Can you compare an iPhone XR with and iPhone XS
1stly make small phones :- Displays are small and battery is bad 😢
And made big phones :- displays are huge and can't use phones, mini version is best😂😂😂
I have green 13 mini. Still using it till today. 💚
I actually own and use the green iPhone 13 mini.
whats the case on your iphone se 2016 btw?
I have a 13 mini and plan on keeping it as long as I can. The only bad thing I have noticed is the battery life has tanked. But it charges so fast that I don't really care.
I really hope that either the SE 4 adopts a mini form factor, or that we’ll get a proper Zenfone 11 with none of that ultra crap.
Best phone Apple has made in forever!
I like your hang out w/ u style just letting ur thoughts flow, stream of consciousness rather than intending to pre-lead us in any certain way - lets me absorb my personal take on the choices. Thnx also for taking the time for the quick back n forth camera quality compare - no phones were harmed due to drops, cause they weren’t chunky phablets right? 😅
No drops for these guys, any scratches were done by their previous owners. Glad you enjoyed!
You can turn the “namedrop” or the airdrop feature off so they wont share stuff between themselves anymore.
I had to use a galaxy S8 recently because my phone was getting fixed and it was insane how much easier it was to use just because I could reach things
I got the s8 at launch. I loved it. First time I got a samsung flagship at launch. I got sick and tired of people asking if they could see my "see through" phone (because samaung poorly advertised it)
@@austinostergaard2187 see through??
@GameOver-nm2us Yeah in the marketing for the s8, samsung made it look like the phone was translucent.
im using 12 mini as main and its fine battery sucks but performance feels very good
Still using a pink iPhone 13 mini and I'll say it's just right for me.
I bought a $300 Samsung galaxy A54 in October 2023. Eventually start bending it in certain ways and then the charging port took a crap. I went to Walmart and spent 150 bucks on the iPhone SE 2023 and I love it other than the battery life. I want to really get the newest S24
Love my 12 MIni.
I can’t EVEN 👀 THIS NEWER MORE UPSCALE AND UP TO DATE MODEL…that would be more evolved however more invisible for ME 😂
hello from another part of the world! Cuxhaven,Germany.
Watching this on my 12 mini. I don't really care about the battery life, I just don't like the bigger iPhones (i came from the first gen SE and Nexus 5 which is my backup phone). It is not really too bad because older iPhones have worst battery life even when new.
rip zenfone and the minis frfr
the time on the 12 mini touches the bezel
6:18
FYI zenfone 10 is the same size as samsung s24 vanilla
I have the green 13mini with 256GB storage in still like-new condition
I am currently rocking an iPhone 12 mini. Best $300 I’ve ever ever spent.
I'm kinda tempted to get one to try iOS, but I kinda already have a Pixel 4 for small phone vibes, similarly sized and still pretty fast, 90hz too. I have other phones but it's currently my daily till the small version of the pixel 9 pro comes out
I love the fold's outside screen. it's the perfect size for one-handing. samsung should just cut off the top half of a galaxy fold and turn it into a phone! call it like "samsung galaxy S25 mini" or something. They used to do that with the S series so bringing it back wouldn't be out of the question.
The notch in 12 mini looks better, although it is wider, but it is not deep as the 13 mini which is more important as the side direction is already wasted.
True, I think it's better
I’m 6 ft2 and I own a regular iPhone 12, and I think it’s the perfect size
i still use a 2016 iPhone se lol. its just an iPhone 6s in an iPhone 5s body. its perfectly fast, the camera is fine, i like smaller phones, but the battery lasts like 2 hours when you use the phone. Im going to buy a green 512GB iphone 13 mini used in about a year and use that for the rest of my life.
I started with a 2nd hand iPhone 4, then bought a new 1st gen SE, then a new 12 Mini and that is my current phone. I don't care to use anything larger but I am afraid that train has left the station.
my green mini is coming today - upgrading from the 15 pro max to the 13 mini for digital detox
While it is true that Apple's phones get longer official updates, I think it is important to point out that Android phones often get far longer support by means of custom roms. Once Apple's support ends then that's it, many Android devices can be kept up to date even if the manufacturer can no longer be bothered with them.
Also these days Google and Samsung give 7 years of OS updates instead of 6 with Apple.
@@Abdulrahman11799 That's a good point and so many people are locked into the mindset that only Apple provides long term software support that they are unaware that's no longer the case.
@@Abdulrahman11799 Apple can support devices with 6 or more RAM for 7 years, especially the iPhone 14 Pro series.
As an iPhone user, I wish more androids got day 1 updates though. I think Apple users take that for granted.
You can turn off that feature which does that funny animation.
The fact that there is no new iPhone mini is the reason I didn’t buy an iPhone the last 3 years. And I used to buy a new phone every year or 2 years since the 90s
carriers in america dont support multiple SIM cards for the same number like in UAE, if they did every house hold would have at least one mini phone
i really like small phones i would buy iphone 12 mini but it's little expensive for me
iPhone 4/5 was the perfect size and if it had a back shaped like the galaxy s3 it’d be perfect for one handed use
SE1 and 5S are the two best small devices produced by Apple
OSRS music mentioned!
Are you a niagara launcher user?
What launcher do you use on the pixel in start of video
Niagara Launcher
Next, do the S10e. Samsungs mini phone
I think the problem with the “mini” iPhones are the battery life. Most people thought it was just an overall worse product, it didn’t really have to do with the size. When people buy a new phone, they want the better option.
It’s like when the iPhone 8 and 10 came out at the same time. The 8 was actually a pretty great phone but people only cared about the 10. It’s kinda human psychology to think more expensive = better.
I honestly prefer smaller phones. I have the 15 pro and I can’t reach the top either unless I move my hand. It’s not unbearably annoying but I wouldn’t mind a 15 mini if that existed.
I love my 13 mini
The small one is like Nokia phone in the early days. It sat pefectly comfy in the hand. Very discreet, pocket size. New phones too big & thick, that's why people keep dropping them & cracking the screens.
No way you used "Sea Shanty 2" from Runescape at 19:10 l0l wooooooot (I thought i'm just flashing)
We need an Iphone Pro Mini. With how small bezels are getting you can fit a lot of screen in that size. And power efficiency is also improving.
3 cameras with a small device looks stupid and takes up space

I have a 13 mini and a Pixel 6 Pro. Great minds think alike.
Another example of a small phone is the cubot pocket which is my phone !
Personally, I think the S24 is the perfect balance between specs and size.
I just love how Samsung doesn't really cheap out on their regular models unlike some brands
But I heard the Samsung S25 is going to be bigger,
while the Google Pixel 9 pro is going to be smaller like the regular
How good the pixel 8 pro I am thinking of getting one currently. I am gonna go from a samsung a53 to pixel 8/8 pro
I mean I have a samsung Exynos s23fe and that over heats to shit. Pixel is also based on that same thing so I think you should get like a 8 gen 4 chips as these are cool and are much better
@@Unknown-64209 ok
maybe a wierd question, but how come all your phones screens are equally scuffed? they all (iphones) have those fairly long and deep scratches
did you get em like that or do they simply live rough lives in your pockets?
I bought them used like that, also my Pixel 8 Pro in the video is in perfect condition
@@frokfrdk yea the comment was more directed at the iphones, thanks for clarifying tho!
The harder the Gorilla Glass become, the more scratch prone it is. It's the physical of how strong or weak the glass is.
For me, with big hands, I choose iPhone 15 pro instead of max because it was smaller and I expected worst battery, now the battery goes through 5-6h of battery on one charge(my last android only did 4h)
Nothing phone 1 was
Clearly you didn't take good care of your phone's battery because I am still using a Samsung galaxy note 7 which is a 6-7 year-old android and it still keeps a good charge.
I’m using a 16 GB iPhone 5s and still can do almost everything, although it’s starting to be unsupported by many apps.
I miss perfectly rectangular screens. Rounded edges and notches look terrible.
You holding the 13 Mini looks like me holding the 15 Plus xD I guess I have large hands
My 13 mini is still so good, the camera is great except the crazy oversharpening issue in low light. Battery is suck because it’s only 78% BH.
How long have you had the phone because I've been using a Samsung galaxy note 7 for about 6-7 years and the battery health is at 84%
@Noahyaboii I had this phone for 18 months, I use fast charger regularly and magsafe, so it gets really hot while charging.
@@thieninh4153 That may be the cause. i recommend a slow charger. Slower charging may take longer but will keep the battery working for a longer period of time. Also wireless charging is a heating issue in general so try to keep the phone in an air conditioned environment
idk why people are so surprised about the lack of small phones, no one buys them so no one wants to make them. Simple supply and demand, people just talk about having small phones on social media but then when the opportunity comes to buy them no one does.
I’d love a mini but I hike and camp a lot a want a decent sized screen for movies and a proper battery so I’m not taking a power bank with me, I still have my iPhone SE (iPhone 5 version) and absolutely love it, if and when Apple release a foldable it will be the best of both worlds although I doubt we’ll ever get back to iPhone 5 sizes, even folded.
