My mom tried to explain things to my little brothers about their fathers but they just ended up hating her until they were old enough to see the truth for themselves. I used to think the same as a child, because I was witness to their hatefulness, but as I got older and saw how my brothers reacted, its really just better for the children to come to understand when they’re old enough, and at their own pace. Adult issues are not easy for small children and trying to force that onto them is a disservice to the innocence of their childhood.
