A slightly better idea is to damage the fingers enough to stun him, run up to the eye and DON'T take the grapple then hit the eye with your fastest multi hit square move. After a few seconds he'll recover and throw you off. This makes the fight last indefinitely, so less down time and more efficient.

Well, it's ALMOST indefinite. You will hurt him very slowly, but still get multiple stuns on him and be able to max familiarity on multiple items. As another bonus, not taking the grapples will skip his dark realm phase.
I've maxed every single proficiency this way on a 500hr+ save.

I usually use Bocci for getting my familiarity up for builds I make. I equip my weakest dual swords, use watersword skill with the less damage more ki skill boost and go ham on the fingers, then run up to the eye and not hit triangle, just spam the hell out of watersword on it, can usually get three and a half bars of ki worth of hits in. Rinse And repeat til all your gears familiarity is max for soul matching inheritables.
Small tip, if you accidentally kill him you can use a travel amulet to tele back to shrine

He's great for farming Familiarity as well so maybe put on some gear u want to get maximum familiarity with if your trying to min max with some inheritables on your gear without having to use glue. Just use uchico powder and if u have any ranged weapons with familiarity bonuses helps level up gear quick, as well as accessories with fam. Bonus. Can confirm, I got the wooden sword text after defeating the third guy. Then on my second run I got a wooden spear - the weapon I needed!

Don't do what I did unless you've got a lot of patience and free time. I ran the abduction side mission over and over until I'd reached 120k on every weapon (my katana and kusarigama were already capped out at 500k each). I figured I could farm for 4 things simultaneously, purple accessories, soul cores, amrita and proficiency. Took me bloody ages but what else is a gamer to do during lockdown? I'm still on my first playthrough too but I've got a great collection of oni-bi rank 9 soul cores, writing sets for my ninja build and enough amrita to make me level 162 before I take on the mausoleum of evil for the first time tomorrow. Great content, wish I'd seen this sooner:)

Refined man of the underworld seems faster imo. Usually 3 runs is enough for 120000

Agreed with that! Also I thought exactly the same thing...having all the divine green weapons will probably come in handy when the DLC comes out - there might be more skill points to get and new skills

I did all this before winds of ruin without wooden weapons as I couldn’t be bothered to farm dojo for them and man it took ages

Can you make a Video that shows what inharitables kann transfered based on the skills on the weapons/armor, because i found out i cant transfer Any Stats Damage Boni like strength -A if there is any damage boni already on the weapon.

this got patched up now in 2021 your Proficiency bonus will be gone the second you change weapons doesn't matter whether the wooden sword is there or not the second you change to the second weapon the bonus gone
If you need proficency and also human kills for titles and or familiarity for your amour and weapons better farm the 3rd region. Corpses and ice at the 2nd shrine you can backstab 2 humans and Jump down To insta kill 3 humans and Go back to the shrine. It only takes 20 seks per run. And 10 runs ~ 50 kills gives 999/999 for me
That's a nice idea. Combining the farming. I tend to use that mission as my go-to mortal soul core farming spot
In Nioh 2 Proficiency is gained based on total % of damage dealt. The more damage you deal, the faster it goes up.
I'm sure it's by hits because then people would simply buff themselves to 1 shot bosses for crazy damage
Also even if it was by damage
Daidara let's you hit 4 times per hit
So more hits more damage
And I got my wooden tonfa around 36k in 1 quick run as a low level fighting daiadra on demon difficulty
So I'd say hits + difficulty = profit
@@CZcamsMusic-dn7hg Its def damage based, I've tested it using Cheat Engine Tables, to parse the damage and proficiency goes up greatly with higher damage numbers, but obviously things like proficiency go a long ways in increasing this.

Thanks For the comment... yeah Daidara is just a decent place to get some decent hits in - if you can hit a few of his "fingers" at the same time, all the hits count at once

Hey Gabe. I do plan on it, but I need to spend enough time to find a consistent way of getting 170s... So far all the results are purely based on getting lucky... I don't want to recommend somethinh unless I'm sure about it if that makes sense.
Also... About the kusarigama build.. I may get to that at some point! I really need to spend some time playing with it... Leave it with me

Please add "NG+ REQUIERED" in the title. Have to get proficiency to... A lot for my dual blades and this video was not helpfull because im on my first playthrough.

Its simple actually...people like what fits their play style and some weapons do not fit that for them 🤷🏾♂️. It's not hard to grasp that people have different taste and like what they like.
