The anointing sealed the calling, enpowers the calling.
I use the word activated which God did to me a few years ago, my Christian friend noticed and said, you are experiencing an anointing. I didn’t really know what that meant but since have realized it is a flow of the Holy Spirit. Within days of these conversations a man we prayed for was healed of 5 brain cancer tumors and I still remember when I prayed for him I was angry with the enemy and shouted, Let Go, he belongs to God. I heard a few days later he had gone to the Dr. and the tumors were gone! The latest thing I hear about anointing in my spirit is that the oil has settled into all my cracks and wrinkles and even though I may not feel it as strong…He is there and I am ready, I pray this means I have oil in my lamp as the 10 wise virgins of Matt. 25. Thank and bless you Rabbi Cahn!

Just read Hebrews 2,3,4 - what jumped out were terms "heavenly calling", "faithfulness", "firm to the end", "endurance", "unbelief", "will not enter His rest if we do not obey". King David fulfilled these after his calling though he suffered greatly with King Saul. Sadly, King Saul on the other hand, though anointed, fell short.

I believe that Yeshua was annointed to be our Great High Priest (and King of kings) at His baptism since the Father acknowledged Him as His Son and the Spirit came down on Him like a dove. It was then that He began His public ministry.

Is this anointing an addition to accepting and believing Jesus is the Christ of my life? If so, isn’t this a problem for Christian orthodoxy?
Make your own oil. Just put some olive oil aside and pray over it.
Beautiful message as always, but there is something I’d like you to explain. Pastor Jonathan, I’m sure you understand this far better than I do. I understand the oil of anointing, and the outpouring of the Ruach on the Old and New Testament servants, kings, and prophets from Moses until now. My question has to do with Yeshua’s words to the disciples about the Ruach Elohim not coming to them unless He returned to Avinu. I understand He was joined with Ruach ha Kodesh at baptism, and the Ruach returning to Abba when Yeshua died and rose from the tomb. If the Ruach could come on Old Testament servants of YHVH, what changed when Yeshua was resurrected and then ascended to rejoin Elohim?
I believe you answered your own question.
The Holy Rauch came 'upon them' to do great acts to glorify Adonai and to write the Holy Word. The Holy Rauch was not living inside them - nor inside the mortal created human being - not until the book of Acts do we see this indwelling start for every soul who believes in Yeshua as Messiah and follows Him.
So now The Holy Rauch dwells within all believers/followers, and not 'upon' just certain prophets and teachers.

Brother I have another brother who got mad when I suggested anointing his place with oil and said I was wrong for using it, and said it's not needed, and I who is not a priest shouldn't use anointing oil. I understand the book of James says let the elders anoint but God has alowed use of the oil and are we not a royal priesthood? Is this wrong? I am willing to understand but I couldn't just listen to irate yelling through text. I'm giving him a break and we can talk later. He just got really mad.
So true. So important. But sadly so much of "Christianity" knows nothing about the Christ/Anointing/Spirit. It is all flesh. Man being busy doing according to their own plans and will. Is there rewards in that ? I don't think so. Wasted energy and time. Very few are looking to Him for leadership, very few waiting on the LORD(Spirit).
Immanuel, God with us. The God-man, begotten Son of the Father; as the lamb provided by God. He was fully God and man. So the Spirit was upon him, OT before the Spirit was sent after his death. At the Jordan the dove was a symbol of the same, to John the baptist. But notice in Revelation 3:6 that Jesus calls himself the Spirit. He wasn't anointed to be God on earth, or to be the Spirit; he already was God, begotten by the Spirit (his own divine power as creator, whose Spirit moved upon the face of the waters) Whom the Church acknowledges to be Jesus Christ, in the beginning. It wasn't a separate person or personality, or some division of persons. It is in fact, by the complete description of the beginning to the end, the same person and one true God, I AM. Thus sayeth the Lord

Maybe someone can answer this…Now here is Apostle Paul, in post Christ resurrected time, mentioning what happened to the Israelites who will never enter the rest in Heaven “Paradise, right? Can this happen to us Christians who have accepted Faith in Christ?
“For who, having heard, rebelled? Indeed, was it not all who came out of Egypt, led by Moses? Now with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.”
Hebrews 3:16-19 NKJV
Now, I say this because in Hebrews 3:5-6 it says…..(IF )we hold fast our confidence…..here is the two verses…. “
And Moses indeed was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which would be spoken afterward, but Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are (if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.”)

Also these verses…. “Beware, brethren, (lest)there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” (lest) any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we have become partakers of Christ (if) we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, while it is said: “Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.””

Just a few more verses here…. “And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.”

SO IS DISOBEDIENCE CONSIDERED UNBELIEF?
The last…. “Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it. For we who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said: “So I swore in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter My rest,’ ” although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. For He has spoken in a certain place of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”; and again in this place: “They shall not enter My rest.” Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience, again He designates a certain day, saying in David, “Today,” after such a long time, as it has been said: “Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts.” For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken of another day. SO CAN WE COME SHORT OF FAITH?
“Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.”

SO WE CAN FALL BECAUSE OF DISOBEDIENCE AND NOT ENTER HIS REST?

note: (The Standard) of exchange for labor has always been (precious metal) gold, silver, brass, copper, xcetera, at least with people that rarely have their currency lose its value in a fair exchange of labor, except during times of famine.
It's only worth the amount of Labor it takes to retrieve from the ground (on average).
In the constitution of The United States of America, states: in the 1st article, 8th section, 5th paragraph:
"To *coin money*, regulate the value thereof, and foreign coin, and *fix the standard* of *weights and *measurements".
They used the word "Coin" because Coin is a Just exchange of Labor, As YAHWAH Stated above *Just*
*Weights &*Measurements, a fair exchange of labor, coin is (only a standard) of exchange.
The 1st Congress in 1789, took
*1oz of gold & wrote on it
20. US dollars
& took
*1oz of silver & wrote on it,
1 US dollar.
Why was gold worth 20 times more than silver ?
Because (on average), gold took 20 times more labor to dig up then silver, in 1789 when the Congress created the treasury.
It's (a standard of exchange) (of labor) (for labor), (not the only).
If some one deceives us into working for glass beads & trinkets, trading small amounts of labor for great amounts of Labor. They will end up with our wealth, only because someone deceived us into thinking the glass beads were very (viable).
Just weights & just measurements are receiving something of equal labor, for our labor.
If a central bank deceives a nation to work for a piece of paper (they loan us), we'll become their slave !
A borrower is the slave/(a subject) according to the contract (the lender) made with (the borrower).
The most wicked form of trade of labor (ever) invented by men !

Abraham Lincoln did not have enough gold & silver to win the war, so Lincoln wrote an executive order for the treasury to print 450 million in *United States notes*, Lincoln spent it to win the war & there's no one to pay back(no debt) & no interest to pay anyone.
It said right on it, (good for the paying of taxes). (It was worthless piece of paper), (not backed) or (redeemable) for gold or silver. But it was a promissory note. When the government collected enough taxes it would replace it with gold & silver certificates (redeemable).
Washington & Kennedy did the same, but Lincoln & Kennedy was put to death for it. Central banks (do not) like competition !
The treasury was still a government entity and still is.
A government note is not (loaned to us) & it does not enslave our children to a debt that we can not pay back.
Now a days we have a 30-trillion dollar debt & it's because we borrow (worthless) Federal Reserve (Bank notes) (a loan), instead of just printing United States notes, (a promissory note) to pay for emergency government expenses.
Righteous exchanger or a deceitful exchange of labour.
Will HE not divide the house of righteous from the house of the wicked ?
