The difference between David Vincent and most other Death Metal vocals: David has a distinctive hook in every line he's singing. Plus, he is not only about harsh, gutteral stuff; you can understand every syllable pretty well.

I'm old-school. And just plain old. I don't listen to much new music but in the case of this album I make an exception. The songs are well written there are some great riffs. Drums are on point, tasteful without over doing it. Vocals are amazing classic David Vincent style. The production is really decent. Guitar tone is crunchy but clean. Lyrics are good enough to sing along to. If they come around a couple hundred miles from here I'd love to see them live. Sucks the music business is so defunct.. this record would have easily turned gold back in the day. I wish these guys luck and look forward to another record and hopefully a lucrative tour. Time to crank this back up and get under the sqat rack.
That guitar electric drill sound from Blasphemer,the riffs are Majestic.
It's really amazing that after all these years and thousands of death metal/extreme metal bands that not a single singer has ever sounded like David Vincent. He's a true unique talent. Such an awesome voice.

@Di ego Grand was controversial, Domination was a huge DM album with a more easy to get sound compare to Covenant.
This sounds more like Ordo ad Chao than Grand Declaration. Thankfully.

This is the sickest and strongest release I have heard in recent years from oldschool names. It sounds like an album Morbid Angel would make after Domination.

Blasphemer is a BEAST! That guy has some of the finest riffs ever! And Dave sounds fucking evil as always!

I have yet to finish my first listen to Praevalidus and already stunned by Flo's legendary technical fills. There's just no end to his creativity and again I'm very grafteful for that

He may not currently be IN Morbid Angel but he will always BE Morbid Angel. From the opening riff, the tone could only be Blasphemer. He's the most unique guitarist in extreme metal. These guys make an amazing trio...
Nothing can ever eclipse his vocals on the old school masterpiece rapture album. But this is really good. 40 seconds into god of emptiness is pure gold tho

It's brutal, it's complex, it's atmospheric and slightly melodic. I don't think you can really put a definite genre tag on this album. The riffing on this album is just something. And oh, there is only one David Vincent. Nobody can growl like him.

Same! I liked Mayhem's catalogue mainly for Blasphemer's riffs and I always thought Vincent's vocals were the best in death metal (along with Dan Swanö) so I knew this would be good, but I didn't expect it do be this awesome!

I think he means it, but either way, this album truly displays the seasoned skills of all three guys, that's why it works so well. Even if I didn't like it I would still appreciate the work involved.

Such an all around badass album from the riffage, the raging battery battery that is Flo and David V. throwing down some wicked growls. Monolith and Everlasting are two absolute favorites on a standout album. Bravo 🤘

He didn't leave, he found out via the internet that Steve Tucker was back in Morbid Angel. Trey couldn't even give him the courtesy of contacting him personally to tell him he'd been replaced.
After that horrible - i - album, it was the least he could do. Better for both sides.
One of the bests albums of 2019, can't wait to see them live at the end of the month !

WOW!!! What an absolutely OUTSTANDING ALBUM from a trio of super talented musicians!!!! i LOVE super groups like Bloodbath and Spawn of Possession now I can add Vltimas to that list!!! Great solid bone crushing playing thoughout this album and a great productuion too!!! Dave's voice and bass tone works so well with Rune and Flo's playing styles. The guitar work is fantastic and really shows what a great player he is without any limitations. Flo is amazing on the drums and just never ceases to amaze Me at how good he can play!!! Definitely a new favorite band and album for sure. Make sure to turn this one up REALLY LOUD and enjoy!!!! Thanks so much Season of Mist for sharing this with Us!!!! : )

At first this album was a bit dissapointing but it is a grower. Nothing groundbreaking but a very solid and enjoyable death metal album performed by masters in the genre.
I think you sum it up pretty well.
I think it's the subtleties of the tones and shifts of the music which make it strong. They've all done straight out blast form in their dossiers.

The beggining of the album reminds me on riffs from Grand Delcaration + Morbid Angel if they did another album with Vincent after Domination.

Hey, that’s cool. But like I responded to a reviewer on another site who also gave this record a 9/10, I RARELY give a 9 to albums I’m really into. 9’s and 10’s are game-changers IMHO, and while this album has got game, it changes nothing.
Oh, also been into death metal since way back in ‘93 when Obituary debuted their video for “The End Complete” on Headbanger’s Ball. That video changed my life. Good times;)
For me this record is a gamechanger because it is pretty fresh and not so 0815 like most of the "Death Metal" releases nowadays....

Glad I decided to listen to it today,knew about it some time,fans of the musicians,Blasphemers guitaring And Flo’s drumming and we know Vincent.The riffs on “Last ones alive win nothing”are the Soundtrack for Evil Tyrants Who have won Monumental Ancient Battles On Bloodshed Fields,,Who have defeated Legions Of Mass Proportions with a Few Men.For those who’ve been Granted the Powers Of Darkness Who shan’t never taste Defeat,ain’t Death Metal great.
