The Xero Shoes Prio Neo is a spin-off model from the popular OG Xero Shoe Prio barefoot shoe.
The Prio Neo has received multiple upgrades to its construction that give it a better-looking appearance with a slight increase in performance. I like the OG Prio, but it's not the most aesthetically pleasing shoe on the market.
In my Xero Shoes Prio Neo review, I'll cover all the key details you should know before investing in these shoes.

Overall, I've been a big fan of the Xero Shoes Prio Neo and I feel like it's the first Xero Shoes performance model I like for daily wear.
This model's reworked upper gives it a stronger appearance and the reworked upper has done a good job with overall durability and foot security.
If you're new to barefoot shoes or want a model for a little bit of everything then I think you'll enjoy the Prio Neo.

Whoa awesome I love the original shoe a bunch too
Awesome dude staying on top of the new releases
Trying my best 😬 thanks, man!
I just ordered a pair and cant wait to try them out! Ive watched a few videos with the CEO behind the company and I get really good vibes from him.
Steven is an interesting cat (in a good way). I have an interview with him on the channel, too! Let me know how you like them
So, how they did?
@@FedeArgentina They did not fit my feet. They either felt too large or too small. I ended up purchasing a pair of Vivobarefoot instead, which fit perfectly.
@@K4rgo crap... mine will arrive in my country in 2 o 3 weeks
@@FedeArgentina They might fit your feet. Mine are quite narrow.
Yo video quality got an upgrade! I see you I see you 👀
Haha, ayyy!
I started playing drums several months ago. I don't like being barefoot and I don't like playing in socks. Normally I play in my slippers. I was washing them the other day and slipped on a different pair of shoes. My feet were slipping all over the place so it got me thinking "do shoes really matter"? I just purchased these. I like the flexibility of them and as long as the grip is fairly good I think I'll like them.
Heck yeah, love to hear that!!
One thing I have realized is that the color way really makes a huge difference with the Xero shoes. The appearance has grown on me and I think the design can look neat if the colors are placed correctly.
I like the look of the inov8 bare xf and vivo primus lite but I think both of those brands make some hideous shoes as well. I think the xeros are priced better unless you find sales.
great review. i would get the Prio Suede instead the cheapy plastic upper Prio. would be nice if they make one with full grain leather. i think old red or blue Prio looked pretty good. i like the older Prio way better. these new Prio has an even more cheep plastic look.
Thank you!
Have you looked at the new leather Oxford?
i just ordered those shoes and i have flat feet with over pronation. hopefully it turns outvwell
You said it right. The prio's look kinda dated. I wish they designed some one colorways without those stripes for a cleaner look. Love the overal review!
I agree! The huarache is fine but I would love a model sans it!
@@thatfitfriendI like this color except that ugly green stripe. You think I could dye it black? Btw have you tried hfs 2? I heard they ruined it 😢
@@Criticalmaze potentially…idk if it would work well.
Imma be honest, I don’t hate it! Idk why folks are so uppity about it, they still have plenty of HFS available and it’s not worse per se, just different. I almost like that it has a bit more stack height 🤷🏼♂️
@@thatfitfriendOh wow ty for your input i really like the way the hfs 2 look but i read both bad and good about them. Im transitioning from lems primal zen. I wanted something a bit lighter and thinner in the sole. Hopefully you are planning on doing a review of hfs2?🤔
@@Criticalmaze being edited as we speak! Haha, I’m curious how many people will get worked up about the review and me liking them 😂
I understand that you do a lot more cross fit type athletics and sporty looks but have you considered reviewing any of the Bearfoot shoes?
I’ve done a written review on them. I’m just not a fan. They’re so ugly and I don’t love their versatility for daily wear, lol. Tough for me to look past that and be objective NGL.
I can understand that considering the look you're going for. It's a completely different style than what I see Xero or Vivo are going for.
@@zachanderson9649 yeah, man. Just ain’t my thing! Some folks love them but it’s tough for me to look past their appearance
Hey Jake!
This is a kind of out of the blue question but I wanted your opinion on something.
For a shoe that combines running and cardio with powerlifting, would you recommend the Xero Zelen or HFS OR. the Altra Solstice XT 2s ?
Very different models. Barefoot versus traditional training shoe, so it's like apples to oranges. I'd go Zelen/HFS if lifting is a big ask for you, but note that they're barefoot shoes and they'll have a very different ground feel compared to a more plush model.
I use the Xero 360 for HIIT. Same pair 3x a week for 2+ years and it's still holding up.
Hey, I've been training w/o shoes this year & wanting to convert my daily Brooks to barefoot shoes. I wear a 4E in width and was curious to how wide the xero and the vivobare shoes run, since they all come in one width. What do you recommend? Thanks!
I feel like Vivobarefoot would be your safer call. I'd go with something like the Primus Lite Knit or Lite III. If you go Xero, then the Prio Neo would be a good option due to its upper having a little more pliability!
Been rocking vivo primus lite 3's as my first barefoot shoes. But picked up a pair of the prio neo's (in white) on the black friday sale to see how they compare. Mainly for an every day, travel and lifting shoe.
Let me know how you like them!
How have they been?
@@hockey_hungryAbsolutely loving them! They are my go to every day shoe now, in and out of the gym. The only time I avoid wearing them is raining/crappy weather days. I've actually had a couple of positive comments on the look too.
@junun007 Great to hear man!
I love my original Prios, but I’m looking to buy a second pair for occasional running outside.
Which shoe would you suggest if you love the Prio but want to run. Should I go with a Prio, a Neo, or something else ?
I'd go Zelen!
I’m trying SO hard to find a wider toe box shoe (not necessarily barefoot) that would be good for playing futsal (indoor soccer on a basketball type court) as well as casual lifting and lateral HIIT style movements. My foot issues won’t allow me to go back to a traditional indoor soccer shoe that smashes my toes together. Do these offer enough stability to not have my foot slide around off the insole when doing agility type movements during soccer? Do you think altra solstice xt 2 would be better? I have the altra escalante and hate the lack of support and how much my foot moves around laterally.
I would look into the Merrell Trail Glove 7 instead! Think that model would excel for your asks!
Agree that indoor soccer shoes are usually astonishingly narrow. I’ve had some luck with a brand called Senda- I got their Ushuaia Pro a size up and they were wide enough for me and have held up well for lateral movement.
How does this compare to the Vivobarefoot Primus Lite in sizing? I found those Vivos to fit perfect for me but am looking something that is a more well rounded barefoot shoe at a better price. Was in between the Prio Neo and the 360 but wasn’t sure to go up a half size since Vivos run bigger. I’m a size 9 in Vivobarefoot Primus models.
Hmmm, that's a great question, honestly. Half-size up could be a safe call and my suggestion is to go through Amazon which can often lead to faster and easier try-on and return processes in the event you need to shift gears for the sizing!
@@thatfitfriend awesome! Will do and thanks for your time! Love the channel!
@@TheElpapanator Keep me posted! Thank you, amigo!
Have you tried the Reebok Nano Classics yet? Really curious about the fitment on those and all the local stores don't seem to have those available to try.
I have! Same fit for them as I go with my Nanos!
Came you review zero hfs 2 and compare with prio neo? thanks
Yeah!
How would you compare these, HFS, and Primus Lite 3?
Similar to the HFS and a little less wide/breathable compared to the Primus Lite III. If I had to rank them I'd go Primus, Prio Neo, HFS.
Is the Prio Neo good enough for activities such as dancing? I plan to get a new shoes that I can also use for those kinds of activities, since my current one is very close to giving out.
I think they'd be fine, tbh. I haven't used them for this vertical, so take that advice with a grain of salt!
@@thatfitfriend Alright, I’ll keep that in mind. Thank you for the help!
How is the toe box compared to a vivo lite III or 3 ? Is it the same or smaller or even wider?
A little slimmer throughout!
how wide is the toebox compared to vivobarefoot primus light?
A little snugger and not as "boxy" towards the end of the toe box.
How's that insole? I've read they slide out during use and others say that they feel those holes under their feet.
It varies from model to model, I feel. Some models have more slide than others, like my Dillon slides but my Prio Neo. I think different colorways and foot anatomies can create some variance here.
That said, I think the majority of folks tend to not have issues with it and if they break down wicked fast then you should be able to get them replaced
@@thatfitfriend Thank you.
What would you recommend as a alternative for someone like me?
Tolos Archetype 1/2 would be my first suggestion since the price point is pretty much identical. Xero Shoes HFS/Zelen, too
Good job. What do you recommend for someone that wear new balance 4E. extra wide?
Need a shoe for training or casual wear?
@@thatfitfriend I walk 12-14,000 steps a day. So i would want a pair that is good for walking, not running. Also a pair for leisure/casual
For the prio they said on the website to take the usual size, but my feet touched the end of the shoes, so I had to take half size up, does they size the same way to the original prio ?
I'd go same size as your norm Prio for you then!
@@thatfitfriend thanks 👍
I have a friend who has xero shoes and says they're his favorite shoes ever....but they do have a certain look to them lol 😅
How does this shoe compare to the Altra Solstice XT2?
Much different regarding their stack height and ground feel. Training shoes vs barefoot shoes is like apples to oranges. It really depends on what you want out of your shoes regarding feel/performance! :)
@@thatfitfriend okay. I currently have Altra HIT XT and love them. They were replaced by Solstice XT2. I e read a lot of people have problems with the Solstice XT2. Durability issues. Heel starts separating. I was gonna get the Xero Prio Neo. I was thinking it’s similar but you make it sound like it’s not
What kind of socks do u wear?
Motee and zconia off Amazon! Cheap and reliable
Dressing up... with pants! 😂
Shhhh
Not you booping around 😂
Booping all about
Do they make barefoot shoes for when you need to dress up
Xero Shoes makes a few pairs, also look into Feelgrounds and Tolos. Their models can be more casual and aren't crazy expensive
