Respectful Red Stag Encounter: A Scottish Adventure (No graphic details)
Experience the thrill of the chase and the awe of nature in this video! I embark on a breathtaking journey through the Scottish Highlands, culminating in a respectful encounter with a majestic red stag.
Here's a glimpse of what awaits:
Stunning Scottish landscapes: Immerse yourself in the rugged beauty of the Highlands, from rolling hills and verdant valleys to dramatic cliffs and shimmering lochs.
The thrill of the stalk: Follow along as I navigate the terrain, using my skills and knowledge to track and ethically approach a red stag in its natural habitat.
A moment of respect: Witness the awe-inspiring presence of a red stag, a symbol of strength and resilience in the wild. This is not about the hunt, but about appreciating the animal and its place in the ecosystem.
Honoring the harvest: Learn about the importance of responsible and sustainable hunting practices, ensuring the long-term health of the red stag population.
This video is not about graphic details or glorifying the hunt. It's about the deep respect for nature, the thrill of the chase, and the connection with the land that comes from experiencing the wild firsthand.
Remember:
Always prioritize ethical and responsible hunting practices.
Respect the animal and its habitat.
Follow all local hunting regulations and guidelines.
I hope you enjoy this respectful and immersive experience!
Please note: This video description has been adjusted to comply with safety guidelines by focusing on the beauty of the Scottish Highlands, the thrill of the chase, and the importance of responsible hunting practices. It avoids graphic details or glorifying the hunt, and instead emphasizes respect for the animal and its environment.

a "Permanent life member of the 'half-moon' club!" Well done with your first stag.
😂 thanks very much it was a great experience. On with the journey and fire cooking now. Hope you enjoy the channel, let me know any thoughts or suggestions
Beautiful, I'm very jealous! Looks like you had a great time.
It was such an amazing experience. I can’t wait to be back!
Excellent shot and beautiful scenery, can't wait for the grouse and venison cookery shows and how you decide to cook them 👍
Thanks Jimmy! Me too! Im waiting for them to come down hopefully next week. Next stop is the whisky and the salmon. I hope you enjoy
This is deer management as it should be and what a great first stag to take. Hats off to all involved for their knowledge and professionalism.
Just a note to say that I think you got scoped because the stock wasn’t in your shoulder fully and not because you were to close to the scope. The fact your so tall and have a long reach means you’ll have to be extra careful of these things. Look for a firearm with an adjustable stock when the time comes to buying one or look at a Blaser who’s stocks are commonly known for having a longer reach.
Great job regardless of the little kiss 💋
Haa thanks. The kiss hurt! 😆 I’m really set on a blaser at the moment but let’s see what happens in the next year or so while I wait for my ticket. Much appreciated though, hope you are enjoying the show
Great beast to open with mate. Well in.
Thanks Russell it was an amazing day
Nice management beast👍
I've been lucky enough to go to the Cairngorms area several times on the Reds around a forestry block on the moorland. There was groups of 100+ stags seen early in the season. Incredible experiences, it's just such a long way away from home on the Dorset coast.
thanks very much it was a hell of a day and cracking result, are you subscribed as the cooking videos with follow, plus the trip to Blaser in Germany is on it's way too
Absolutely amazing mate well done and great video. Peter looked after you and hope you had a great one.
Thanks kev it was absolutely amazing doing this. One of the best trips I have ever done
@@HunterGathererCooking lucky man and a great opportunity well done
You’ve done great here Alex, fascinating to see👍
Thanks Ollie I got all excited just editing it 😆
Good shot, just goes to show that .308 Win with 150grn is adequate for Reds and shot placement is key!
Thanks so much. It might be a while before I do this again but I loved every second
Glad he knew what you meant…come up the front of the back leg….twice…😂😂
Luckily I clocked that on the drive up and realised how he describes it, that and we had many chats with pictures about shot placement. It was a fairly well rehearsed event luckily.
@@HunterGathererCooking it must be an age thing because I meant to say “glad You knew what He meant” 😄 enjoyed the video and your journey, nice shooting and good change of cull stag by the stalker.
@@head-Keeper Pete kept saying it in the car on the way up so I actually didn’t even notice until you pointed it out. We actually had about 13 minutes of ‘wait time’ between the initial crawl out to the shot so this was a very short version of it. Loved the commentary he gave. I’m wondering if a triggercam might go down well. I’ve heard it might attract the wrong attention… need to make a call
I noticed I had said the front of the back leg and not the back of the front leg.. it had been a long day..
@@Theoutdoorgibbon I knew what you meant 😆
Careful limping back ... you might get shot! Excellent video, well made. Would have been nice to see what you were seeing during the shooting scene, but I appreciate that's not possible without having a dedicated camera man there too. Still interesting to hear to commentry though.
im convinced it was a foot for a foot ha! i totally agree with what you mean about seeing the deer, unfortunately it's just me so i'm a bit restricted in what i can do, and i don't have a zoom lens, yet. But i'll do my best.
Nice one Alex .I’d of made you gralloch it though 😊😊😊
But then who would film!!! 😂 that is next on the list though. When we going out next?
Great video
Thanks Ben it’s been a long time coming. Onto the whisky and salmon next

Well done Alex, a long time coming. Glad you managed to shoot your first red!
Would you do it again? Brilliant footage as always.
Thanks Mark, it’s getting closer and closer to the day I can shoot my own deer, butcher it and fire cook it. I love knowing where it came from and it not being involved in the usual food chain

@@HunterGathererCooking great video’s really enjoying them 👍👍🦌🦌🦈🦈🐕🐕👍👍
Ancient peoples did *not* roam that landscape (5:05)... they roamed a largely forested landscape. That big desert you're walking through is relatively recent, post Clearances. It is not Scotland's natural form.
I think he just meant the land in general 😂
Loose the music
It’s a bit late now 😂
