Such a prolific songwriter Adrianne Lenker. Unafraid to play embryonic working versions of new songs whatever the gig - been doing it for all times I’ve seen them live - so much strong unreleased material! 💙
This actually works so much better on her solo album as the drums in this version create a mechanical metronome-like rhythm that has no place whatsoever in the structure of the song. It's meant to be structured around a much looser, less coherent rhythm. I suspect Adrianne is all too well aware of this but this is how you organically work these things out. Love witnessing "the process".
